I absolutely love this place. It's definitely a go to when we visit my in laws. The food is fresh and always gives a good kick!

    Lomo Saltado

Ordered 2 lomo saltados, 2 inca kolas ... came up to $56 . They added peas to a traditional plate that has no peas ... flavor was good but the cut of meat they use wasn't the correct one as a lomo saltado is known for it's tender meat the one they use had nerves and you can see the color of the meat doesn't look like the traditional one . Overall flavor wasn't bad but it wasn't to what I've had at other Peruvian restaurants ... I would like to try their other plates but wouldn't recommend the one I've had for the price I paid

This is a tiny establishment that would generally not be ok my radar, but I drive by so often I figured why not. It's got quite a few tables, a lot of llama pictures, and a very cozy environment. It was bigger than I anticipated, but they had so much more options than chicken that most Peruvian places have. Our server was super nice and patient, even though she was the only one and there were a few tables to handle. I ordered papas de la huanciana, fried fish (I forgot what it was called), lomo sotaldo, and a tres leches. I *love* papa de la huanciana, but this is the only place that I've seen it on the menu so I was super excited. It tasted just like how I remembered it, when a friend made it for me years ago. The fried fish dish was so good! There are a few bones in it, but manageable. I didn't eat the lomo saltado, but it looked delicious. The tres leches is a must buy. I think this is one of the better ones I've had from all the places I've tried. Best part is, it was just the right amount of moisture in the cake, extra leche at the bottom, and every bite was perfect.

Came here after church with a group of friends. Really solid Lomo Saltado and selection of authentic Peruvian soups, desserts, and beverages. The owners, as the name suggest, tienen mucho orgullo en su cultura peruana y se nota. Living in Gaithersburg, we have no less than 15 different Peruvian restaurants within a 15 mile radius and it is nice to see when an owner really tries to connect their patrons with their culture through giving them an experience that is similar that you would have if you were there. When you go to "Mi Peru", you feel like you are transported to Peru.

My sister took me here to get me cultured to some Peruvian food and omg I was taken away by how delicious everything was. The people working here were welcoming and kind as well! We got the aji de gallina which is a rice dish with shredded chicken smothered in a creamy yummy sauce. The chicken was juicy and not dry at all! I tend to stay away from chicken dishes as they can either be a hit or miss and most the time it is a miss for me, but not here at Mi Peru!! It was definitely a hit that left a good impression on me. The pupusas were also delicious as we got the pork and cheese filling one. I like to add the cabbage on top to add a little bit of flavor to it, and of course they do have some house special sauces to add as an option! I will be back to try other items on the menu.

This restaurant is the best Peruvian food I have ever had in my life. They have consistently provided delicious offerings with friendly service. It is a woman owned establishment and a family restaurant. It has a cozy vibe with an abundance of outdoor seating. It has a relaxing vibe with beautiful live potted plants and decorations that pay tribute to the wonderful country of Peru.

We tried this restaurant for the first time few days ago. We went back for carry-out the next day. The restaurant itself is a little out dated. Service was good. We loved the pupusas but it's not good for leftovers. The ribs were flavorful but sauce a little on the sweet side. The flan and carrot cake were delicious.

    Fried plantains
    Phi N.

I'm not an expert, but I feel like many other places around are better for peruvian food. We got the ceviche mixto, lomo saltado, aji de gallina, fried plantains and peruvian chicken. Nothing blew me away, but they were all good enough to order again if I were to come back. Well, other than the plantains... I'm not too sure if she understood what I wanted though (language barriers always killing me!) I wanted the fried/soft plantains. They boast about how some famous chef came up with the recipe for the roasted chicken, but it didn't live up to the hype. As for the lomo, it was decent. Fries were crispy, meat was good, but flavor was just so/so. Aji and ceviche were so/so Waitress was really nice. Food came out quick. Price for all that was about $80 (w/ tip). The chicken was $18 (about 1/3 more than other restaurants). Not sure how those other dishes compare. On a plus note, they had the arsenal game on replay! Go Gunners!

    Arroz Chaufa - so good!
    Siomara P.

I ordered the Arroz Chaufa and it was delicious! Service was ok. I am unfortunately unable to give this place five stars because of the confusing message on the menu - it says tip is included on parties greater than 6, but for whatever reason, it was already included on our party of 2. Our total came out to be quite different than expected, and had we not asked them, we would have not realized the tip (almost $7) was already included on the initial "total" I would recommend this place because the food is good, but I would suggest you to keep your eyes open for any unexpected charges.

Food is delicious and service was fantastic I have zero complaints what a great restaurant Mi Peru

Let me start by saying, I really love this resturant! This is my second time going there, as I went…read morethere last week with friends, and wanted to go again as their menu was extensive! I wanted to wait and give a review after the first time as I hoped it wasn't one of those, ("the first time it was great! The second time...not so much.), let me reassure you that was not the case with Autentico! On my first visit, I had a seafood selection, and it was so fresh and so good! I was also checking out my buddy's chunks of beef that were part of his meal, and wanted that too! He gave me a chunk and it was so tender, juicy and good, I knew on my next visit, I would have to order some form of their steak! The service was spot on, and food order time to table, was exceptional! My next visit came yesterday, and yes I ordered a steak! It was a late Friday afternoon, and even though they were busy with a few large tables of people, service was still outstanding and the food was even better than the first time! If you have read some of my reviews, by the time I think to take pictures, there's not much left to take a picture of! Also, I know some people just take pictures and not much else, and while something can look really good in a photo, you have to dig into it to unearth what's really good about the dish, and everything I have tried at Autentico, was superb! I ordered the NY Strip with fries and instead of the rice that comes with it, I asked if I could substitute veggies for the rice? They said no problem! While the first time I had a couple bottles of their Corona, which was very cold and was also provided with a frosted glass, this time I asked for a Modelo Especial. I was told they had it on tap! Major points, as I love all of Modelo's products especially the stouts! It was just my buddy from work this time and me, and we had such a great meal and the ambiance was awesome! I had joked my first time visiting there while driving in, that there was an Irish resturant right next to it! I mentioned that we should go there after for a couple pints. We never got around to it, as we were too full both times to make it in. But that resturant is in the back of my mind for a future visit! So if you do go to Autentico, you won't be disappointed. It's a great location that's worth the drive, and an exceptional resturant!

I don't feel the restaurants should be including gratuity unless it's a big party and even with that the restaurant has to ensure they give good service for the guarantee gratuity. Again to quote from my review of Reston location: "This reminds me of my time in Pero and the flavors i experienced. The ceviches are bright from the acidity of the lime. The fish, the pulpo, the shrimp were all fresh and melt in your mouth tender and the sweet potato threw in a light sweetness here and there". I also ordered the Pork Belly Bao buns but I wouldn't get them again at least not for delivery; because the steam was trapped in the container the pork belly wasn't crispy and it was more fatty then meat on the pieces. Which combined with the steam they almost because gelatinous and gummy? I was a little underwhelmed with the toppings as well. I expected to like one restaurant location better than the other in terms of food quality but I can't tell the difference it's THAT good. Especially at their prices & the hoity toity atmosphere, you'd think they'd also be well-run and reasonably accommodating, eh? Nope. Worth the drive? Not any more. Worth the wait? Definitely not anymore! For as many times as we've frequented Pisco in Reston with a small group, one would think they'd get their seating straightened out. Every time we've attempted to eat here on a reservation, they've had issues. Never set up and ready to seat us. Never prepared upon opening... and it's never busy when they first open which is why we always go early. But, they are NEVER ready to seat us. What's the use of making a reservation a week in advance if you're not going to be ready to seat the party nor accommodate the request? How would you like to find out at the last minute that they're going to split up your party at two different tables on two different sides of the restaurant because they weren't prepared when you gave them a week's notice via reservation? The food isn't that good to have to keep going through the challenge of being seated every time we make a reservation for a group. They're really pricey, too. So, certainly not worth this chronic headache. There are PLENTY of other places in the Town Center or in Herndon/Reston in general where you can get a tasty meal, not drop a day's pay, and have your entire party served well together. The taco joint across the street is definitely a more pleasant experience, for example, and I would certainly recommend bartaco...give them a try instead for a fun environment and some good eats.
