The sides are served family style, which is dangerous for me, because I could easily take down a family's worth of creamy coleslaw, white beans with red pepper relish, and hushpuppies before my catfish even has an opportunity to get to the table. Those hushpuppies..... soooooo good! Nice and crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Large parking lot out front with the iconic Catfish statue alerting everyone that they got the right place for catfish. The interior is unassuming, and according to my dad, hasn't changed much in the last 50 years. It's clean though, and in my opinion, if you have a good thing going, then why change? This is a hidden gem! The ambiance is fantastic. Eclectic bohemian!! Very cool and colorful. The owners were both wonderful and did an outstanding job. One was our waitress/host while the other was the chef. Our coffee mug was kept full and our food was delivered promptly and was delicious. The area looks like a place someone would love to retire in. I went for the highest rated Mexican restaurant in the area. I was surprised to see the outside of the building, it looked like an old gas station or house. The parking lot seemed full so it had to be good. I live in an area of Nashville where there is a plethora of good authentic Mexican and Central American cuisine. I still have an affinity for these kind of Tex-Mex places in most of the US. The food came out very quickly and I enjoyed the meal. My only criticism was the tortillas were not hand made and also the beans seemed very light in color which is not to my liking. The best thing about this meal was the price! Very reasonable. I would eat here again if in the area.
