This reminds me of west Mex cooking, roasted vegetables were the key ingredient which I think makes this a good place to eat as it has a smokey grilled flavor. Host was nice. Seated us right away. We got chips, salsa brought to the table within seconds after being seated. Waiter came took our drink orders and queso order and bought them fairly quickly. Was DEFINITELY kind of a smart ass when taking my order. Saying "you talky a too fast". When I repeated it slower, he had the audacity to laugh but I mean if, you want slower. I can give you that. I used to be a teacher. after speaking slower, he still got it wrong. The food was not bad. The waiter was trash. Did not come to check on us for the longest. No refills for our drinks. Hap hazardously came in holding a broom and dust pan, talking about some everything good? Asked for the check and took him forever to bring it. Then he asked if we were done, "you done girl?" We are new to town and were driving around and decided to stop in. It was a Friday night around 730. We walked in and it was pretty busy, we took it as a good sign that the food must be amazing. We were told the wait for 2 people was 10-15 min. We said that was fine and asked if we could get a drink from the bar. One really good thing to note about from our visit was the manager. He was working his butt off. Helping the hostess, running food, he made our drinks... he was everywhere doing everything. He seemed like a great manager. We got our drinks and sat at the front and waited to be called. It was about a 15 min wait. We had chips and salsa and queso with chorizo to start. The queso was very good. also the margaritas were great! Usually there's too much sour mix but here they were perfect. My husband ordered a chicken quesadilla, refried beans and 2 beef enchiladas. All of his food came out first and was cold. The quesadilla wasn't cut so it looked like a large taco. He hated the enchiladas and didn't end up eating them. The beans were terrible and watery and cold. We didn't touch those more than one bite to try them. My food didn't come out until about 15-20 min after his. I ended up eating one of his enchiladas. I thought it was ok. Not something I'd order but ok, even tho it was cold. He was of course finished with his quesadilla by the time my food came out. I had a bite of mine but decided to just box it to go. I had wanted dessert but decided I'd skip it. I had a chicken chimichanga. The one bite I took was good. I'll eat the rest tomorrow. I'd come here again to give it another shot but maybe during lunch or earlier in the week when the kitchen isn't so busy. We also noticed the table next to us only received half of their food and had to ask where the rest was after waiting a while. Like I said it was busy so I'm sure the kitchen was swamped. Our total was $50 plus a tip. I thought it was reasonably priced. Although I was surprised to see the queso was $10 for a pretty small bowl. Another positive to note is how cool the artwork is throughout the restaurant and just how beautiful it is in general. Something funny we noticed tho was they play new country music which was unexpected. Usually there's Mexican music playing at a Mexican restaurant. It kind of threw off the ambiance a bit. read more

Ordered CHUNKY GUACAMOLE. Never even got it but was CHARGED. CHILE RELLENOS: They served two of these with a STEAK KNIFE. The chilis were not prepared correctly so they were tough like beef jerky, plus the small amount of egg was like MUSH. SATURATED with grease. Rice was THE most bland attempt at a Mexican dish I have EVER seen. Wife's burrito... She said is was OK. OK??? I cut into it and it was a 2. For God sakes, change your name to Wanna-Be Taco Bell. I was skeptical based on some of the reviews but I was very happy with my order. I arrived at a good time: 6:00 on a Wednesday night. I got seated in the back near the bar; got served by my waitress, and received my order in a satisfactory wait time. A 32oz, $4.50 draft beer and a water prevents the need for service which became less as the place got busier. The food was very good and plentiful for price. My only complaint was a back flow of people waiting to be seated stood around my table at the bar. They were close enough I was able to hear their conversations. Too bad it was not more interesting than tractors and hydraulics. I recommend but it did get busy around 6:30 on a Wednesday night. Bring your patience. The desk clerk at the Hamptons recommended El Dorado and she was correct...it was delicious and extremely close to the hotel. El Dorado was very busy when I arrived at prime dinner time. The wait was only 25 minutes so I found a seat at the bar (located in the back of the restaurant). The hostess was very friendly and keep an eye on me since I wasn't sitting in the lobby. The interior is very colorful and has booths and tables. The bar is located at the back left from the entrance. It can't be seen from the lobby. The bartender was very efficient, friendly and made me feel welcomed. The seats were very close together so we could fit in 3 guys who arrived together. Otherwise, I would have eaten at the bar but not enough elbow room. The large menu has all the favorites most restaurants offer (fajitas, enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas, tacos, soup, salads plus so much more). As soon as I was seated at my table the chips and salsa arrived. The chips were warm and the salsa was good. My server was friendly but professional. She arrived at my table quickly and gave me a few minutes to review the menu. I ordered the Burrito Acapulco with shrimp, tilapia, bell peppers, onions and tomatoes then topped with an excellent cheese sauce. The Burrito had a generous amount of tilapia and shrimp with enough cheese sauce for every bite. I loved the Burrito and my Texas Margarita. Whether you live in Pleasant View or staying at the Hampton, I recommend El Dorado. read more

First let me say I am an El Dorado fan. Service is usually fast and friendly. Chips and salsa hit the spot good. I am hoping management sees this review which I am writing this. I ALWAYS get the Shrimp Quesadilla Grande. Love it! Craveable! The last 3 times it keeps getting smaller and smaller. The shrimp used to be larger and more plentiful. The whole quesadilla from front to back used to be full. $13.99 is too much for what you are getting. I will give it one more try but feel like it may not get better. read more

I was hungry after taking fir baby to vet across street so ran in and ordered a fajita salad and ran back to car - fur baby still in car. 7 min later food ready - packed with utensils and chips and salsa and done. Pros: *Familar Americanized Mexican food for larger parties/ families. *Good drinks (pitchers of margarita) *Chips and salsa come out quick *Food comes out quick Cons: *Long wait times, especially on Friday *Tables are left unbussed while customers wait *Waiters often miss details of order, miss refills And for the BIG one, for me at least. This is dumbed down bland food for the American palate. I can't hate on them for cooking what 95% of their customers want in this area. The spices and flavor is lacking seriously. If you are a foody... avoid....you will be disappointed. I have spent a good part of my life around Mexicans in CA (OC,LA) and have taken a true appreciation of the complex flavor and history that Mexican people (absolutely awesome, inspiring btw), and their mind blowing food brings to the world. I've only eaten here once but I was with 3 other people and we all ordered something different. Everything my wife and I ordered was delicious, everything our dining partners ordered looked great as well. The fajitas are hot and delicious, the one I ordered was stocked with a variety of meat (fish, steak, chorizo, chicken, shrimp) and it was all cooked to perfection and required a take home bag to finish later. The chips are standard, the salsa is a bit on the plain side--no notable cilantro or spice, likely to be inoffensive to all but lacking in bite or flavor as a result. The cheese dip and guacamole are both above average (for standard Mexican-American fare). Good beer and margarita prices, both served cold and adequate. The prices are incredibly fair. The service was very friendly. It is worth noting that if you're COVID conscious and/or not yet vaccinated that as of May 2021 there don't appear to be any restrictions--staff do not wear masks or gloves, tables aren't distanced, and though I believe there is still a sign on the door asking you to mask up until you get to your table I didn't see anyone but our party doing so (but this appears to be a general rule of thumb for the entire town of Pleasant View and has been since the height of the pandemic). read more

My wife and I came here for lunch between doctor's appointments. The menu descriptions were very similar to the menu photos which helped us decide what to choose. I chose a vegetarian burrito and my wife had another vegetarian item. Both came to our table hot, quick, fresh and delicious. Oh, did I happen to mention our portions were humongous, especially my burrito? The cost of both meals with drinks was very reasonable. Our server was very pleasant and helpful all during our meal. We've been here several times and never had a bad experience. The food and service are good. Whenever I go to a mexican restaurant, I usually order the same thing every time to avoid disappointment. I've found several items on this menu that are delish. I'd recommend not getting the spinach dip, it's just spinach in queso. But you can order spinach as a side dish with entrees instead of beans, which I LOVE! Salsa is ok, not cilantro-ie ++! I do kinda wish that they had a better way to separate the diners from those waiting to be seated, but the ambiance is decent. read more
