We had another enjoyable dining experience at Mu Pueblo. For the Ft. Worth area, the restaurant has turned out to be my wife's favorite TexMex restaurant. Food is always consistent and service is top-notch. Plus, the frozen Margaritas are some of our all-time favorites. Mi Pueblo also has some pretty awesome salsa and chips. We like our salsa a bit hotter, so we mix their hotter salsa in with the regular. It comes out perfectly. After being seated and looking over the menu, one of our regular servers, Jose, came by to take our drink orders. Two frozen Margaritas, one no-salt, the way my wife likes it. My wife decided on an order of bean and cheese nachos, Nachos de Casa. I ordered the Azteca platter comprised of a sour cream chicken enchilada, cheese enchilada, crispy ground been taco plus rice and refried beans. When our Margaritas arrived, we were both happy campers with very happy tummies. We munched on chips and salsa, sipped Margaritas and had a good bit of conversation going when Jose arrived with our entrees. Yummy, picture perfect. My wife said her nachos were awesome. Mi Pueblo cooks up some really deliciously flavored refried beans. They've got great flavor and are seasoned to perfection. My Azteca platter was more than I could eat. My wife warned me, but I didn't listen. Both enchiladas were packed full of deliciousness. The crispy beef taco was crunchy and wonderful. Rice and refried beans, AWESOME! I had never been to this location before. It's very nice. The service was great. We were seated as soon as we walked in; on a Thursday night. Luckily it was happy hour so I ordered a strawberry margarita on the rocks. It was really good. Chips and salsa was brought very quickly and I loved both of them. We also ordered the queso. It was so good but cooled off too quickly. I ordered the Tijuana plate- beef enchilada, 2 flautas, and a few chicken quesadilla triangles with rice and beans. No complaints at all. The flautas were probably my favorite but I liked the variety of everything. The portions are very generous and I had plenty to take home. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. We had the Mia Terre with fajita taco, cheese chili rehano (mispelled) and charo beans. Next we had Tijuana platter which is a variety of choices from taqueto to beef enchiladas. She ordered queso as always. It was tasteless. It didn't even have a cheese taste. Not sure how they managed that. She also ordered beef enchiladas with sour cream sauce. (I know she is weird). She said that her dish had no taste either & was not impressed. I ordered the lunch beef fajitas. The meat was tender & it did have flavor but the beans & rice were lacking mucho. Not sure what they are doing wrong but it wasn't working for my tastebud. The waiter was very attentive & the food came out in like 5 minutes after we ordered it. Ive frequented Mi Pueblo recently at least once a week. The chips are soooo good and both salsas they bring with them are PERFECT. (Please never change any of the three). Dos Esquis on draft are a nice addition to the meal whether I go for lunch or dinner. The pozole on the weekend is delicious, you have got to try it with fresh homemade corn tortillas! It's chicken broth based with shredded chicken, small onions and a couple slices of avocado. The soup had a good flavor. I would order this again but the bowl next time.
