My Dad and I went to brunch here. Chuy's has a friendly Cashier and the same old Waiter. It's a seat yourself restaurant that serves large Mexican families and a few males eating alone. Our Waiter was short not in height but in his temper.He was very good though. He got our order right, our food and our ticket came out promptly. He got our to go plate and drink quickly too. I ordered Chicken Flautas. They were three oversized Corn Tortillas with lots of shredded Chicken inside. They were crispy, a little greasy with Shredded Lettuce, Sour cream and a Tomato. My plate included Beans and Rice. Rice was cold and my two spoons of Beans were watery? Chuy's has new hot sauce cups and pitchers. Glad to see they upgrade their Kitchen accessories. I usually get the guisado but it's $12.95! $13 for a stew? It's good but... ok. I got the menudo because I'm trying to watch my figure...I'm kidding. Cuz I love menudo but you can't get it every day. Here you can get it every day! It was the half order and it was FULL when they brought it out. But it wasn't HOT. It was tepid. I shoulda sent it back to be microwaved. It was good. Maybe it was the temp. But I didn't entirely dig it. The queso my wife ordered was a bit wangy to me. Sour or something. I would recommend NEVER EVER use delivery with the people. Absolute disaster and the portion size is insulting to a person's intelligence. Ordered through DoorDash and it was well over an hour between them accepting an oder for some salad, one enchilada and some nachos and it actually being given over for delivery. When it arrived, it was stone cold. As in it must have sat in the restaurant, unheated, for 30 or more minutes before the 10 minute drive. The food arrived in uninsulated containers and all the cheese had congealed and the meal was inedible. The nachos (ordered as beef fajita) were 6 half shells with each having about 1/4 inch of a beef fajita slice on it. Literally, the took one slice of fajita meat and spread it out over all the nachos. The worst was the $2.29 scoop of guacamole we bought as an add-on. (It was warm, not cold). It was, maybe, a tablespoon of guacamole and was brown and gross. Picture attached. We also ordered 2 salsas at $3.49. This is some provided in unlimited amounts in the restaurant, but these containers did not have enough in them for even 3 chips. Certainly not the 1/2 cup advertised. We love the food at Chuys. Their chips and salsa are among the best of any restaurant I've been to. Borderline addictive. Today I had cheese enchiladas. So good. Rice was perfect, beans were the only weak point just because they were a little runny. I would give them 5 stars if it weren't for the usual crappy service. It's so disappointing. We got our drinks before someone brought us menus. After the food came the waitress never came by to check on us. I had to get up myself to get a refill of tea. It wasn't even busy. Love Breakfast, not a fan of lunch/dinner menu. We love the breakfast burritos, and the service. They are always friendly when we go. We've only ordered dinner-style meals once (enchiladas, and flautas) and didn't care for the taste. So now, we just stick to breakfast, chips and salsa. read more

I'm really torn on what kind of rating to give Chuy's. The food is usually pretty tasty, they give you very large portions for the price you pay, and the service is nice and helpful. But I don't care for the empty feeling lobby, the feeling that I've had this same tasting Mexican food at some other restaurants that were not a Chuy's, and at times the salsa (I'll explain the salsa). The salsa is pretty unpredictable and inconsistent. Sure it tastes about the same each time, but it can go from being about mild / medium in heatness to being freakn' spicy. (The last time was in the mild / medium range). Unfortunately, I regularly get a jalapeño or chili seed stuck in the back of my throat almost every time I eat the salsa (and being chocked up and teary eyed doesn't make for a very enjoyable eating experience for me). But despite these minor grips, Chuy's is still a fine place for Mexican food. read more

Worst service ever. Put an order in via Grubhub and got a quick call letting me know what we ordered via the menu they provided to Grubhub is not something they sell (cheese quesadilla). They told us we probably ordered from the wrong restaurant which we explained the app doesn't allow us to pick specific restaurants and write in orders that it's there location and a specific menu they put. So we asked to cancel and they said yes. 30 minutes later no update and order still in process so we called Grubhub to be told yes they have it as it's in the menu and they are making the food and we told them we didn't want half the order I mean $55 for food to get half and not food for two people here at the house isn't ok and we would order elsewhere. Well that wasn't allowed and we get what we get and that's it. This is not okay as they specifically told us they would cancel and not hold $55 hostage. As we made another order we said that they said they were canceling and we made other arrangements so please follow through. Grubhub wouldn't help and Chuy's took their phone off the hook so we couldn't call. Well now they selected order completed so we have not paid $55 plus tip & delivery for not even half the order. They cut the phone off and kept our money, Grubhub not helpful either! Worst service beware and look elsewhere especially if you want what you order and not play Russian roulette with food orders! read more

It was horrible, it smelled like what I would think sour or rotten meat would smell like. Just gross.. As we were waiting for family to pay. The restaurant was pretty full. I opened the door for an elderly couple. The old man was pushing his wife in a wheel chair. It was exactly 3:04 pm. I seen they went in half way and turned around and were exiting. The little old lady says in Spanish "well we have to leave they said they are closed". Wait, what? They turned them down and said they were closed. WHAT?! The doors were not locked and the restaurant was full and you turned down an old man pushing his wife in a wheelchair!?. They had to be in their 70-80's. Very disheartening to watch the old man getting his wife back into the car. How could you not feed them??? My sister and I approached the manager. We asked her why they were turned down. She said the kitchen was closed. I said in 4 mins? (They closed at 3) She looked at us sarcastically and said yeah. We told her how we thought that was pretty low on her part. Her mannerism and professionalism was way below average and let's not forget her horrible customer service. SHAME ON YOU LADY! I pray your elderly grandparents never get treated this way! read more

I consider myself a Chili Relleno aficionado, and have been raving about how great Chuy's were. Now it's NOT some place I can recommend for my favorite dish! Usually we go at least once a week to get my fix. Early March I got one that was extremely greasy, as well as overcooked. AWFUL! They apologized and comped my meal. OK. Bad day for the chef. I can accept that. No big deal. Well last week we went and I placed my usual order. When it arrived I saw that it appeared to be browner than usual, and FLAT! When I cut into it I observed it had a very slight amount of cheese in it. I asked my waitress to please have the chef make me another one that had a usual amount of cheese. She advised me it wouldn't do any good because they were made a while back, wrapped in paper then NUKED when ordered, and they were all just alike. How sad! I was extremely surprised that she told me that! Evidently they have a new way of preparing the Chili Rellenos, and they're not something I can recommend! I am going to miss them!! I'm open to recommendations for a new restaurant where I can get my treats!!!! read more
