I agree with other reviewers: a gem of a find! We were staying less than 2 miles away, did not want chain restaurant food, and this place sounded so delicious. Unfortunately, we don't speak any Spanish, and most of the workers don't speak any English, so ordering was a bit complicated, but we managed. One order of grilled pork loin (thin sliced, well seasoned) with a generous "small" side salad, and one order of the beef steak with rice, both eaten to the last morsel. We also purchased 2 bakery items, don't know what they were, but they were inexpensive, moist and interesting. One had a bit of apple filling; we don't know what the filling was in the other item; it looked like jam, but it wasn't that sweet. With all the workers and all of the other customers speaking Spanish, we figure we hit an authentic spot. Our order was for take out. read more

I just want to say this is probably the best tasting and best value for your money for Colombian food! I am from New York, and was just in Scranton to drop off a family member so I needed a real meal before taking the 2.5 hr drive back to NY. I searched on Yelp, naturally I only visit places w good ratings and this one really impressed me and my mom. We usually pay $60 for what we got for $26! The lunch special was such a great deal, you get to pick your protein and your side (sorry I am used to places that call it this way) and you also get to pick where you sit. So yes it is restaurant style but no, you do not have to wait for service or anything. We brought our own drinks and parked directly in front. I don't anticipate coming back to this town but if I ever do again, I will definitely stop by again! P.S. yes! they have to-go containers that you can ask for in case you can't finish everything that was served! read more

Pretty good. Ordered the first combo on the beef page of the menu. Came with a steak, pork belly, sausage, plantains, a crispy fried dough, avocado, and rice. The steak was a bit over cooked and bland. The pork belly was super tasty but the skin was really tough, inedible in areas. The sausage was great as was the rest of the accompaniments. My favorite place to go in Scranton for Spanish food!! The service is always super friendly and they take the time to explain what everything is if you aren't sure. They also keep some food in the back if there isn't enough room in their hot case, so make sure you ask if you don't see something you are looking for! Best beef stew I've had. Also love their baked chicken, peas and rice and yucca. HUGE portion sizes and reasonable prices. When I asked how fresh their chiccharones were that they had in the case, they said they would be happy to make some fresh for me. Really awesome service here. No one in the store was wearing their masks safely and the food was bland. Not to mention some horrible customer service by the people working there-- they shout at customers over the very food they're serving with their masks down. Not a very comfortable environment. The rice was not cooked right and the beans were all mashed up at the bottom of a thick broth of god knows what. The only thing I liked was my drink and I can get a better one literally anywhere else. I got 2 small meals and somehow it ended up being over $30 and the fries were so soggy they're inedible and the mofongo is nauseating. Not to mention the chip in my tooth from biting into a bone as I was eating one of their empanadas. Maybe their baked goods are ok but Im never stepping foot in there again. read more

After tasting my friends hot sauce/ salsa & smelling his lunch, I just had to try this place. So glad I did. A wonderful girl greeted me & explained the daily special which is an amazing bargain. For 7.95 with tax I got 4 meals in the one. You get a choice of protein, choice of rice, choice of vegetable, choice of delicious chicken soup or amazing beans and a can of soda. This bag weighs several pounds. If you're not afraid of habaneros, get the homemade hot sauce salsa piece of heaven. Warning this is spicy and Colombians love using cilantro as do I. If you don't like it, might not be your jam. I got the baked chicken, yellow rice, yucca & chicken soup with extra hot sauce. You MUST eat here. read more

This was a great little find by my co-worker. The baked goods are terrific. So inexpensive.

I drove from Philly to this place because of the good reviews, and I wanted authentic Colombian food. Well, I was very disappointed. The empanadas were too crispy and almost hard, and the Bandeja Paisa was a complete disaster, the egg was supposed to be runny and it was STIFF. The chicharron could break your molars trying to chew it, the only good thing on this plate was the rice and a tiny slice of avocado, because even the red beans tasted wrong, trust me, I'm Colombian and I know this plate very well. Even the Bunuelos are shaped wrong, I would not recommend this place to ANY TRUE COLOMBIAN, what a total waste of $80 dollars, time, and gas. Next time I will commute to my regular Colombian REAL Resturant in Queens, New York City. read more

Still coming back and I love it. I think they might have simplified the lunch specials but I still enjoy it a lot. If I recall, Tuesdays are a little bit cheaper for the lunch special so you have nothing to lose. I stopped by on the weekend and it is getting busier and crowded so you know word is spreading! My initial impression of this eatery is how stunning clean it is. Beautifully decorated and the staff are well dressed and very friendly. I have eaten wonderful traditional foods in Bogota. Colombian dishes are bright, versatile and full of flavor. I tried their lunch special for takeout. Unfortunately, their best seller, roasted chicken quarter, was so dry it sucked the saliva out of my mouth and I started choking. I think it sat under a heat lamp too long. It had zero flavor. Along with my lunch came cilantro rice. It too was very dry. The cilantro flavor was barely noticeable although the rice was very green. The plantain was excellent and the beans were seasoned to perfection I am not sure but, I wonder if the seasonings were dumbed down to better suit the palette of the local population. Traditional food ...YES. Flavor-able...NO Will I try this place again? Yes! I know they can do better read more
