Glenn I Germantown Our Family has been going to Mi Rancho regularly for at least 10 years. If you are looking for a real Mexican atmosphere and food this is it. Have always been satisfied with the food, the service is always friendly and mostly efficient although when you are on the patio it can sometimes be slow. Well, I thought I'd give Mi Rancho a try - I was in the mood for fajitas. We started off with chips and salsa, they were good. But that's basically all that was worth mentioning. The fajitas were very regular - chicken by the way; I know, but that's what I was in the mood for. The killer was the price.... Wait for it.... ~$20 for a fajita plate, plus extra if you want a spoon of sour cream. And there were next to no grilled onions and NO grilled peppers, just a mound of grilled chicken. There must not be any vegetables grown on "mi rancho". The service was as regular as the chicken, and the entrance smelled like a restroom. You ask, why did I continue to stay there if it smelled bad... My answer, I shouldn't have, but I was aching for a fajita. Oh well, no more ranchito for me. My wife's enchilada were muy regular, with so little salsa verde that she thought the kitchen forgot it. read more

After six years in TX, I have come to know what I like in Tex-Mex- Mi Rancho is it. It's not "authentic Mexican", but it is real Tex-Mex. The margaritas are pricey and a little small, but they pack a punch. This place has the best flour tortillas. Yummy! The fajitas are cooked just right. Sure service can be spotty. My first time here and I was not impressed. I live in Frederick, where there are plenty of great Mexican restaurants and I ended up here simply out of convenience as it was late night and I was in Germantown. I noticed it was pricey for typical Mexican food but I figured it would offer large portions and I'd have lunch for the next day. I ordered a shrimp quesadilla with cheese- I got a whole lot of cheese and barely any shrimp, for 17 bucks. Not a deal for a large mound of tortilla and constipation. My boyfriend got fajitas, which had maybe 1 slice of pepper and actually was stir fry. Our bill was 46 bucks. Skip the over priced meal and head to Frederick where you can get something yummier at a better cost. read more

My wife and I had dinner here with a large group last night. The service staff were friendly and split the checks without complaint. However, we thought it was expensive for the quality of food and size of portions. I wish I could give it a better review, but we likely will not go back soon. read more

I love their patio! Their chips and salsa are very very good. Margaritas excellent. Service very good. It's not the best Mexican .. But better than La mexicana in my opinion. Had the fajitas ..loved them. I got beef and chicken. Everything Delish. Parking can be a problem, and have had to leave because no where to park . So go early lunch or early happy hour. read more

Decided to eat someplace different for mothers day. We did not have a reservation but we were seated rather quickly. Lets start oit with the drinks. They were out of rootbeer so my daughter ordered a shrley temple and me a red wine sangria. The shirley temple was flat and,watered,down with ice. My red,wine sangria was warm red wine with a cube of apple and a piece of orange. Not by ay means like i was expecting. Then the food comes out. I ordered a,chicken chimmichunga. What was,suppose to ne a,crunchy outside filled with chicken turned out to be a soggy boritto that came with a tablespoon of rice and water that they were trying to pass off as beans. My daughter ordered the steak fajitas. This consisted of steak in a sizzling plate of fried onions,and a slice of raw bell pepper on top. No cheese or sour cream and accompanied by pico something that was nothing but a dollop of guacamole, a,dash of lettuce and tomatoes. When we complained about the food, we were told that no one else complained about their meal. The manager just took our food off of the table. We left a tip for the waitress and proceeded to leave. The manager ran us down and said that we had not paid our bill. He charged us for the drinks and the chimichunha that he had took back. Rather than making a scene, i promised him that i would be making a review and told patrons,who were waiting to be seated not to eat there because the food and the service in my opinion sucks! read more

We just love Mi Rancho and should have written before - we have been going there since it opened. We think the staff is fantastic - Eunice, who we always ask for is the best - and Christine wonderful -- the bus staff - so friendly and sweet - we just think the world of everyone at Mi Rancho - they are the best - we love the food - just a greattime when we go - we would like to thank all the Staff for their wonderful service - from kitchen to bus boys to hosts to wait staff. read more

The Mi Rancho on Rt. 355 in Rockville was far better than Germantown. Our waitress acted like if you said 'BOO' she'd run for the hills, she was not attentive. It was an ok restaurant, the salsa was pureed beyond recognition, should be more bullk to it. VERY disappointed in the con queso, tasted like melted Velveeta w/a few chopped tomatoes on top. Not going to beat feet going here again, go back to Rockville instead. read more

Very disappointed with the food quality, service was fine, however we found the spinach quesidilla to have too much cheese and little spinach. They nickel and dime you for everthing like onions and jalepneos, which there is usually no charge at other restaurants...Will qualify that we had vegetation items primarily and do not recommend, but if the meat dishes looked decent....Quality should be the same...Service was nice and friendly though. read more

My husband and I were in the mood for mexican food and didn't want to eat fast food like taco bell or chipotle which after this experience it would had been half the price and twice as good. So we get seated at a booth the bus boy brings out the chips which are very salty! We order appetizer nacho with steak . I was excited because this is my favorite part of dinning In a Mexican restaurant. So the nacho come out and you can still see almost all red! It was barely cooked. Ewww I hate raw food. I'm a well done type of gal and this was as raw as it gets. Then our food came out shortly which was good but my chicken tacos I ordered weren't very tasty the chicken tasted like it has been made over a week ago! But I put guacamole on them and that really helped. My husband thought the food was ok until he started to eat his beans and pulled out a string of his mouth and lost his appetite . The manager came over to our table and told us I don't know how that happen only men work the kitchen! So In my head I'm think I guess only women have long hair! Then he said this happen once every three months. Wow that's great I guess we came at the right time !!! The manager gives us a free desert and my husband plate on the house .. That helped some what but I know we will never go there again and took make it worst when we get home the cheese cake we got on the house was Gross ! I ordered the ribeye with shrimp. For $29.00 or so, is completely not worth ordering. The ribeye was flavorless when it comes to seasoning or marinate but did have a bitter taste because it was over well done. The shrimp were tasteless as well no flavor at all. Now, what I think is super over priced are the kids menu option $7.95 for chicken nuggets and fries. They only give you 4 tiny nuggets. I would never go back there. This is not authentic Mexican food in my opinion. We just moved from Texas to the area. Not a very good option if anyone were to ask. read more

My wife and I have been going to Mi Rancho for over 15 years. One star short of Great Mex, call it Very Very Good. Everything is good on the menu, I have a slight leaning to the ribs. Consistent cooking, nice staff, well kept restaurant. Carry out works as well. read more

I did not find this restaurant to be particularly accommodating to me as a vegetarian. One can only eat so much cheese. The response to a request to mix vegetables with a salad instead of meat was that it would cost extra. Really? I won't be going back. read more

Came to this place by chance, my sisters and I wanted a quick bite and we stopped in.we were very impressed with the service and setting. We sat in the outdoor patio. I'm giving this place 2 stars solely on the food. It was mediocre at best. One of my friends got a margarita to start that was pretty good while my other friend got a mojito that tasted like soda water with some sugar and mint in it. You couldn't taste the rum at all and he said it sucked. I agreed it was pretty bad for a mojito. Then they got the queso that was actually just a bunch of melted cheese that isn't bad in my opinion, but not the kind of thing you would want to dip your chips in. They served it with tortillas so it may as well been a quesadilla. I got some shrimp that came out on a skillet that were okay, but not worth the $20 and my other friends plates didn't look all that appealing for the high price tag they had. Last was the desert which I got flan. If the flan sucks at a Mexican place then the place sucks. And the flan was terrible. Don't go here.
