    Nutella ice cream
    Dave D.

Olala is a small ice cream shop just east of downtown Campbell. The place is nice and clean and the service is friendly and patient. We found the menu to be confusing so we just got one cup of Nutella ice cream. It was really delicious with good flavor and consistency. We will definitely go back after reviewing the menu more closely :)

This location has been a revolving door of dessert spots over the years. I think it was a Rita's a few iterations back. I was excited to try a Colombian dessert spot and was excited to try it. The decor is bright and cheerful, and I was greeted warmly. It was nice to see this spot busy. I have had an Oblea before and was excited to get another one. This one however, was not my favorite. It had a lot of cheese and very little dulce de leche and fruit sauces. I was not a big fan of the combination, just not for me. I plan to go back and try some of the other items and will update my review after that. Bumping up 1 star for the service and because it is family owned.

Love this new finding! We went over here today and had Maracuya ice cream with maracuya and condensed milk toppings! Place is super clean and great service. Will be back for ice cream salad!!

I was craving a cool dessert because it was hot outside and came upon this place. I didn't really know what to order because everything looked so refreshing. I ended up ordering the guanábana-fresa and WOW!! I took one bite and it was just sooo good. The perfect refreshing dessert on a hot day. My fiancé ordered a vanilla shake and that was also very tasty. The staff is very welcoming and even gave us a bottled water while we waited. There is some seating inside which makes it ideal to hang out for a bit. Already thinking about the next time I'll be visiting.

The nutella ice cream is simply delicious. Their waffle with blackberry ice cream, strawberries, mango, and coconut was amazing - fresh ingredients, made to order, and beautifully presented. Very cute shop, and the staff is helpful and kind.

I came back to try something different, and this time, I brought my boyfriend along (had to share the magic!). We tried the Maracumango, which is made with passion fruit and small pieces of mango. It's super citrusy, refreshing, and full of flavor. We both loved it!

On left was a fruit flavor similar to pineapple; on right is Nutella.

We were driving by and saw their sign, "Olala Colombian Ice Cream," and since we had never had Colombian ice cream before, we went back to try it out. They sell popsicles, ice cream, and a few types of desserts. We tried scoops of the ice cream. I had the Nutella, which was sweet and mildly flavored. My husband had a yellow ice cream that the lady said was a Colombian fruit that she could not recall the English name for. My husband enjoyed it and said it tasted a bit like pineapple. They had about six flavors of ice cream in total, so it would be great if they had a few more. The service was very friendly.

    Counter, crowd, line to order

Simple and excellent. Authentic flavors and a line out the door on Sunday- everyone from Columbia (except those from Venezuela). Bars in n tropical flavors $5, several scoops of related flavors, $5. The Maracuya was to die for. (Passion Fruit). It's a bright white counter with limited seating. Probably best to go... walk in Campbell.

Everything is made fresh to order, and you can really taste the quality in every dish. I especially loved the grilled meats -- they had that perfect smoky char flavor straight from the grill. The staff were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the different dishes and the best way to enjoy them. Beef, Kofta & Chicken: Super flavorful and packed with spices, with an amazing grilled/charred flavor. I loved being able to build my own wrap with all the different veggies and sauces! Hawawshi Traditional (Egyptian Meat Pie): Similar to arayes, but even more flavorful and juicy. It comes generously stuffed, and the arugula paired perfectly with it. Chicken Breast Bowl: OMG, the fries were so good! The chicken and fries combo worked perfectly together. The chicken had subtle hints of lime and was served over a creamy mayo-style sauce that tied everything together. Salad: Light, refreshing, and topped with onions, pickled veggies, fruit, and vinaigrette. Overall, it's such a fun and casual place to hang out. There's an outdoor patio with self-serve tea and water, and I loved the cozy lights and tent setup. I'll definitely be back!

During that time, the staff never acknowledged us, and we had to make several attempts to get someone's attention just to ask about our order. The food ended up being good but not enough to justify the long wait. The dining area was also a letdown. The enclosed patio with its clear plastic covering trapped the heat, making it feel like we were sitting inside a greenhouse. It was uncomfortably warm and made the meal much less enjoyable. Overall, the food was fine, but the combination of the long wait, lack of communication, and uncomfortable dining area made for a disappointing experience.

The farm sits at 2 acres and boasts a variety of fruit trees, some bee boxes, a small flower garden, and a very well stocked farmstand. The stand has a variety of in-season fruits and vegetables, starter plants and herbs (they had tomatoes and strawberries when I visited in April), and a bunch of locally made and seasonal goods. Not everything comes from the farm, but they source from other farms in the Bay Area and state, and local businesses. They also work with local businesses to use their produce for fun products like jams, cocktail mixers, and dried fruits. They have tours and events at the farm, we got a tour when we went and it was really cool to learn all about the history, see the different fruit trees, and then of course visit the farmstand after and shop around.

If you live in the Almaden or Branham area, it's such a cool little hidden gem and definitely worth stopping by. The fruit looked super fresh, though the prices are higher than I expected, more like Whole Foods level prices. I thought going straight to the source would mean much lower prices, but what you lose in price, you definitely gain in freshness. For example, their strawberries were $5 per little green basket (three for $15), which comes out to about $5 a pound. At Costco, organic strawberries are $5.49 for 2 pounds, roughly $2.75 per pound. The giant seeded watermelons were $12.49 here, compared to $6.49 at Walmart. (Suggestions from a visitor) A couple of friendly suggestions that I think would be really helpful: It would be great if they posted online what fruit is in season and what will be at the stand, along with the prices. That way people can plan ahead and know when to make the drive when their favorite fruits are available. Also, there are no signs letting customers know they can go in the back. I only knew because I saw pictures on Yelp. Locals who've been here before probably already know, but as a first-timer, it looked like an employee-only area so I didn't go back there. A simple sign would be awesome, it would bring more people to the back to sit, eat, and enjoy the space since most fruit stands don't have that nice extra feature. Overall, worth visiting if you don't mind paying a bit more for freshness.

I've been on an aged balsamic vinegar and olive oil binge lately, and have checked out a bunch of shops ranging from San Diego to Carmel Valley near Carmel-by-the-Sea. I was excited to potentially discover a closer source of high quality balsamic vinegar and olive oil. To assess how good of a product they had, I asked for the 25 year aged balsamic and the Picual EVOO. The 25 year aged balsamic was quite watery, had OK flavor (just a bunch of basic berry and grape flavors, no honey), and had too much of a vinegary bite. In comparison, the 25 year aged balsamic that I had in Carmel Valley poured like molasses with an incredible mouthfeel, much richer and more complex flavors including oak cask flavor and an ultra-long wildflower honey note finish. Next up was the Picual EVOO. Honestly, I didn't really taste very much aside from a light olive aroma. Felt very watery, not much of that green/herbal note, no sharpness, just a whole lot of nothing. This was even more disappointing than the 25 year Balsamic. The Picual I had in Carmel Valley was punchy as it should be, tons of fresh herbs, grass, spice all up front. I don't know if it's potentially a difference in first extraction vs using the remnants/grinds. But I cannot recommend the olive oil at all. The drive really is worth it guys, until an actual proper EVOO and Vinegar places shows up in South Bay at least.
