I tried the Tacos al Carbon and they were delicious. Not greasy like at some other places. The flour tortillas came out soft and stuffed full of chicken and chorizo. I also had a small house marg and it was more than adequate. Also tried the five enchilada dinner (can't remember the name) and it lacked some spice. Thought the salsa needed to be a bit spicier as well but the ranch dip had great bite! Would return. Staff was great! read more

Food was a great value for taco Tuesday but I found the food to be bland and just ok, there was not really anything special about the tacos but I will go back and give it a try another time as I don't wish to review on just one trip. But I was looking for a more authentic version of tacos, so maybe that was my expectation and not the food they do. read more

We've tried Mi Tierra in the past at a different location, so I was surprised to see there was one on 61st and Yale. This restaurant is a bit smaller than the others but they have lots of booths for seating. The servers were friendly and they had a huge selection on their menu. My mom & I ordered seafood. The fish was good but nothing extraordinary. The scallops were a bit overcooked. We thoroughly enjoyed the vegetables that came with the entree. My husband ordered the carnitas. They were tender and he enjoyed that they came with a grilled jalapeño. Not many places offer that. We would definitely be back to try some of their alcoholic beverages. read more

Here's a great example of what you'll find at Mi Terra. I was told that there were new menus with increased prices for the lunch special, but have verified that ISN'T correct! Comes with your choice of two items and two sides is for $8.99! I grew up loving the convenience of Bueno, but you CAN'T get a food anywhere near this good at this price these days. I was really excited to try this place since it's so close to our home. The service was good, and the cocktail was lovely. It was one of their top shelf margaritas, beyond that it was a disaster. The salsa tasted bad/rotten and the cream, sweet branch spicy dip that was served was absolutely awful. The chips were greasy and cold. (Not sure how they managed that). I had a fajita bowl and honestly, the steak was pretty good, but the rest just tasted off. I guarantee you there were no take-home boxes. Hopefully they can improve. I had tried the Mi Tierra Cocina Mexicana in Glenpool in 2023. It was not impressive. Same name and owner, but not always the same results...... I have found that with these local chain restaurants, different locations with different managers and different cooks can mean vastly different dining experiences. With that said I'm trying the newest location on Yale. Greeted and seated promptly. Good chips, fair salsas quickly arrived at the table. Ask for the hot stuff. You also get the restaurant's signature nasty white dipping sauce. Or salad dressing or whatever it is? Disgusting. Trying something very different for me, El Guapo. (no, not me, the meal is called El Guapo) El Guapo is two thin chicken breasts seasoned, then lightly fried to form a delicate crisp finish on the edges. Fresh spinach decorated the chicken and all that covered with queso. The menu offers a choice of charro or black beans, but the waiter did not offer either. The meal was delivered with refried beans and rice. An excellent meal this was. Simple, flavorful, a five-star plate of food. I found it, a meal that would bring me back to Mi Tierra Mexican Kitchen. My wife had the Fiesta Bowl with the chicken. A large bowl of fresh lettuce, black beans, pico, avocado slices and healthy a drizzle of crema. The chicken was a substantial serving of the same grilled chicken as my meal, only chopped. A tasty lunch special. Nicely decorated inside, modern décor, booths and tables available. The service was very good. It was midafternoon. Lunch time for a group of Mexican electricians that rolled up in their white vans. A working man's approved restaurant. First time here. It's pretty close to the house so we were kind of excited to see how it was. First of all, the service and margaritas were both pretty good. However, that's where it ends. The food was possibly the worst Mexican food I've had in awhile. I had the enchiladas chipotle, which was supposed to come with one shredded beef, one ground beef, and one chicken enchilada. The first thing I noticed was I got two ground beef enchiladas instead of the shredded beef. I'm a little more partial to ground beef, so I wasn't too concerned. Both the ground beef and chicken had little seasoning or flavor aside from the chipotle sauce they covered it all in. The sauce itself might have been ok for salad dressing, but didn't work for the enchiladas at all. I only ate about half before I was done trying to like it. The rice served on the side was equally tasteless, with the added "bonus" of lima beans? Who does that? The waiter, which did a fine job, asked is if we would both like to go boxes that we both politely refused. It definitely wasn't going to be any better reheated later. I might would try the place again if I thought this was just a one-off experience, but the recipes (of the food I tried) were just so bad that I don't think it could improve without a major overhaul. read more

This was my first time coming here and the atmosphere was nice but the service wasn't good. Our waiter had zero personality and acted like it was a big chore to refill the chip bowl or bring extra salsa. The manager came to the table and asked how everything was and my fiancé told him that some of the food was cold and he basically in so many ways called my fiancé a liar without actually verbally saying it. I found it quite offensive and based on the service and cold food I will not return. read more

This has been the hands down one of the greatest Mexican experiences and food I've experienced in Oklahoma and Texas. If you don't stop by here you're missing out on delicious food, excellent customer service, and relaxing atmosphere. We spent three hours here not knowing the time spent. Now allow me to explain: the food is unlike other Mexican restaurants. You can taste the quality. I ordered the bisteak and shrimp. It was the best I ever had. Cooked to perfection and soooo delicious! My fiancee order the chicken poblano and she said it was balance with cheese and chicken and the best she's had in all of Oklahoma. The discounted margaritas are a steal (don't tell them). It's the best price and they don't cheap out on the alcohol. When I tell you that this is the best Mexican restaurant in Oklahoma and Texas...trust me. The food came out hot and delicious. I was able to easily spend over threee hours here eating and drinking without the content interruptions of a server checking on us. She was sensitive to my conversation and came as needed. This is now my go to spot for Mexican food and will not be going anywhere else. Period. read more

The food is delicious!! The prices are very reasonable. The wait staff are excellent. The only downfall is in this hot August weather, they find it hard to keep it cooled down inside, but they do have ceiling fans. We would love to see their outdoor seating area improved with a little more ambiance, they should work on that because we love to sit outdoors (When it is a little cooler) and it would make more desirable seating spaces, maybe install a cabana. Booths inside are nice, big and clean. If it's crowded, which it usually is, the noise level will be a bit loud. read more

The service is the bomb- we originally ordered to-go, came in and liked the place and decided to eat in. New location: 61st. The first thing I noticed when I entered was the smell of the commercial air freshener. It's the same one my eye doc uses & it's horrible. I want to smell food at a restaurant, not an overwhelming scent (hair, clothing, it all smelled like it when I got home). Food was disappointing; queso & chips runny but good, meat needed more seasoning. Soft tortilla on street tacos, nice, but overall, a grade of C on the food. By the end of our meal, we have 11 small bowls/containers, 4 plates & a bowl on our table & an oversized drink menu that wouldn't go away: overwhelming.
