Usually the food is hot and fresh, the to go wait times can NOT be beat(they are fast when calling in a pick up) & they are good at special requests(putting things on the side/omitting things: ex. NO ONIONS. My ONLY gripe is the last two times my food(I love the flautas) was burned or the rolled shell had exploded open and was hard to eat(not a "fork" friendly food). Me and my girlfriend went here over a month ago, she got quesabirrias and when she took a bite she bit into a whole taco of just fat no meat at all. She pulled out the fat and it was just a huge clump like they slapped fat onto a tortilla. I took a bite of one with meat and it was unbearable and the consome tasted like water and a little seasoning. I got a wet chicken burrito and to me it seems crazy to put shredded chicken in a burrito unless asked for. Went yesterday with my mother and there was a hair in my food and I saw behind the counter that the cook was bare handing the meat and licked his finger. Absolutely disgusting never going back. Taco truck by ace is the cheapest and best food in valley springs, try there instead. read more

When it comes to Mexican food in Valley springs you have very few options but after trying them all, I recommend this one. Much closer in authenticity in comparison to the others and with better quality meat. Located in a very well lit, plenty of parking and quaint lot. Easy to get into except for the initial ramp up into it where three lanes converge. The staff works hard and food ordered ahead of time or dine in usually takes about 10-15 minutes to get. This scales in accordance to activity as is the norm. The food is reasonably priced and the servings are a good size. The salsa is spicy and savory. Try out the flour chips as well and the salsa verde. Has plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating. If your looking for the best Mexican food in this town then take a chance on this. I love this place. The food is incredible with bright tasting flavors. Always hot and fresh. Their tacos and burritos are always generously packed full of ingredients. I give this place negative stars if it were possible first thing swinging the lady at the register took it upon herself to keep two dollars of my change. When I asked her for a receipt she got an attitude and then gave me my two additional dollars that she just was going to take on her own. I went in this place to grab a quick bite of lunch. I was not greeted and the establishment felt as if the heater was on full blast. I ordered a ala carte enchilada. It was so awful I could not even finish one bite. I told the owner (a very rude woman) that I simply couldn't eat it, it was that bad. I was made to pay full price for the meal. So essentially I paid to just walk in the door and be mistreated. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

My grandma and I came in last Friday. We ordered taco salads. I had carne Asada in mine. And my grandma had chicken. I was not crazy cooked vegetables in it. Very little lettuce in it . Taco salads are supposed to raw vegetables. The salsa was very good and deep fried ice was super good. When we walked into your restaurant it was very hot in their. Install an air conditioner. My husband and I have thoroughly loved Karla's food ever since she opened! My husband especially likes Tacos Norteño and I absolutely look forward to eating the refried beans! Truly - I often think about them when I'm at work so when I'm out and about I make a detour just pick some up! Highly recommended. 5/7/19 I just read some of the other reviews that give Mi Tierra a one star rating. Truly - most people that I know who live in Valley Springs like their food a lot. Even their salsa is excellent. As for their service - they get pretty busy and the girls can be pretty rushed but even though, they all have hearts to offer great smiling service. I had to order takeout for 30 people for a rehearsal dinner at a venue where everyone was staying in little cabins and would not have kitchens. Though it was to be casual it had to be good and plentiful. Mi Tierra came through with delicious food and no one left hungry! DO NOT EAT HERE!! We've eaten here often since they opened. They have really, really gone down the slope of I don't give a damn. We went for lunch on Wednesday. The place was empty. Service was still bad! They didn't pay attention to orders. Constantly screwed them up. Did not check back on us at all. Food was alike tasting across the board. The salsa tasted canned. I moved to Valley Springs 2 1/2 years ago and had never been here which was kind of surprising since I love Mexican food. I decided to take my teenager out for dinner since the weather was crappy and cooking wasn't something I was up to. The food was pretty good, the service was better than what others had said BUT I'm pretty sure I just paid a $0.68 surcharge for using my card after the credit card slip came. It said "non-cash transaction" and had the fee. There's no signage, the bill I got was for the original amount and not until after they swiped did I get a NEW total. Uhhhh. Not cool. Not only is it a crappy business practice to charge for card use since it's an expected cost of business and the amount you make from people who won't patronize you if you only take cash, but it's deceptive to not advertise this or even mention it when I put my card in the folder. read more

Came here for a family dinner last night. All of the tables were filled inside so we sat outside, good thing it wasn't too scorching hot. The table umbrella isn't really helpful. We were promptly served drinks, chips, and salsa. The menu is extensive so I was pretty indecisive since I personally am not too big a fan of Mexican food. On my quest of eating less meat, I opted for the 2 fish taco dinner plate with rice and beans. The wait isn't too bad for the food, roughly 10-15 minutes. I don't mind that the food doesn't all come at once but there must be many employees that work here since every time we were checked on, it was a different server. When my food finally came, I thought the fried fish looked like fried octopus. It definitely isn't what I'm used to from Rubio's famous fish tacos. The batter is deep brown and the fish are in small, bite-sized pieces (think calamari). The taste is pretty standard and the refried beans were good. The rice was ok. I like corn tortillas so I'm glad it isn't the flour kind. For dessert, there was fried vanilla ice cream but we opted to go Common Grounds a few feet away for gelato. The restroom only fits one person but is clean and stocked. Oh and if you ask the servers what is good on the menu or if something in particular is fresh, expect to hear that everything is good and everything is fresh. At least parking is free. read more

Wow, delicious! Stopped by for a quick bite with the wife on Saturday at lunch. I love good Mexican food and this place was fab! We had tacos two ways (pork hard shell and taco nortena) and cheese enchiladas. Great chips and salsa from friendly server (owner?) At new places I like trying a combo plate with a taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. (#1 combo at most places) I wasn't that hungry this time so I ordered à la cart.
