We had to find a space off in the cut and even then, they tried to seat people next to us. Fortunately both me and the woman they tried to seat were like "ummm...so no social distancing?" Then they went and found another seat. I know they want to get their money, just don't lie and have folk spending $90 on two tix... to have to pay $80 for a dry ass burger, cold fries, a wack drink and a soda and I can't even get my six feet. When's the last time you laughed so hard it felt like Ab workout? Finally! Something to do in Miami besides brunch and brewery bar crawls. I had a great experience and am still star struck by TJ Miller. Parking was convenient and people from all over came to see this guy; let me tell you WORTH IT! I indulged in a very generously served rum and coke and used that to wash down a burger with a side of diced tomatoes to dip fries in. This new place is enormous and it's no wonder. I had never been to this Improv and let me tell you it was a great experience. It was a pretty big show. Eddie Griffin was comedian and it was a full house. The employees we extremely attentive and organized. Leslie was our waitress and it being so busy she made sure we were taken care of. The Eddie Griffin specialty drink menu was awesome. I had the liquid Kush and it was fruity but not overbearing sweet. I also had the empanadas. They were delicious but maybe they should put how many are in the order on the menu. Over all it was a great experience. And to top it off Eddie Griffin gave and amazing show and was extremely funny. read more

This new place is pretty neat as the Improv comedy club seems to be part of Copper Blues, so I t's convenient to have dinner right before the comedy show and watch the live entertainment. Price was reasonable at $27.50 for tickets, but the two drink minimum will raise the price of admission to approximately $60.00 unless you decide to eat, but it's still not bad for what your getting. Tonight there was a huge crowd and it didn't keeping everyone in line and waiting close to an hour for a late start. Inside the place seemed very clean and large, but small tables for two cramped up against one another wasn't very comfortable. Over all was a goodnight of fun, but fell way short of the 5 stars that I was going to give it when we first arrived. read more

Similar to the other 1 star reviews, the customer service here was horrible. Got tickets for me and my partner to a weekend show. We arrived 10 minutes before the showing and were seated right away at a center booth. Our excitement was quickly dampened by the sub-par customer service. 30 minutes after our drinks arrive, our waiter comes and tells us we have to be reseated since booths are reserved for parties of 4. The venue was still pretty spacious so it didn't really make sense. (Mind you there were other parties of 2 in the booths next to us) The waiter storms off mid conversation and gets another waiter to come and tells us the same thing. My partner has a leg brace on so it's very inconvenient for us to be reseated. The waiter shrugs and offers to seat us in the back corner with a shitty view. He didn't have any empathy for our situation or bother to offer any viable alternatives. We eventually changed tables and see that they seated another party of 4 AN HOUR into the show. Miami Improv's policy is first come, first serve so it's a shame that they don't honor people showing up on time. Tldr - New York improv is significantly better and it clearly shows. Majority of the comics were very amateur and early on in their career except for two. read more

We went to the Improv the other evening. I guess I was expecting a dump in a seedy Neighbour hood. The area was amazing, lively,filled with restaurants. The Improv itself was clean, the waiters were super friendly and the food seemed pretty good (to be honest we just had beer). The show was a Canadian comic who is very funny but that really has no bearing on the place itself. If you find a comic you want to go see, this is the place. read more

I used to go to the Improv when it was in the Grove years ago (Aries Spears, etc.), but since they closed I've been going the Hollywood Hardrock (Chris Rock, Wayans Brothers, Tom Segura, Trevor Noah, Jo Koy, etc.) otherwise I'd hit up Caroline's in NYC (Tom Green, etc.) To have the Miami improv so close to home in the Doral is perfection! The IMPROV Comedy Club CityPlace Doral Same ownership as Cooper Blues which is right next door and Comedy Club shares the restrooms with Cooper Blues. We ordered the tickets online and that was a very efficient website and operation. We arrived about 45 minutes before the show we seated immediately and had very good seats. Our server appeared almost immediately. I ordered the chicken quesadillas which were excellent! I was pleasantly surprised because I had a very bad food experience with their sister restaurant next door. The show started just alittle after scheduled time with a GREAT young MC, AND two other TREMENDOUS introductory comedians. The main act was Carlos Mencia and he was very good! The show lasted almost 90 minutes. All in all a GREAT experience and I can't wait to do it again. I recommend! read more

They have a great lineup in both English and Spanish. I recently saw Christina P and Daniel Sosa here and enjoyed the show each time. There is also a fun bar next door with live music if you want to continue the night close by! The only downside is the food is mediocre quality and it annoyed me both times that the servers walked in front of the stage several times to pass out checks. I love the latest incarnation of the Improv Comedy Club in Miami. They get some big, big names in here- which is crazy, because it's DORAL. Typical 2 drink minimum as is standard for comedy clubs. The space is HUGE. Saw Margaret Cho here and it was empty, for someone as funny and famous as she is. Service is OK. Location leaves a lot to be desired...again, because it's in Doral. I was subjected to racial profiling at this location, and it completely marred my experience. Despite having spent thousands at the improv and always enjoying myself, tonight was different. My wife and I attended a show featuring a local comedian, and the audience was predominantly black, which seemed to raise suspicions among the staff. Just before the headliner took the stage, my wife and I took a quick bathroom break together. As I exited the stall, I noticed an employee from the venue following me. Initially dismissing it, I assumed he was also headed to the restroom. However, upon leaving the bathroom, I felt his gaze fixated on me, making me uneasy. He even approached me and demanded my ID and credit card if I intended to use the bathroom again. This blatant act of coercion only escalated my frustration. We were simply trying to enjoy the show, and yet I was being treated as a suspect. It's disheartening that in this day and age, racial profiling and coercive tactics are still prevalent, even in places where we should feel welcome. read more

My bf and I love going to the improv bc it's a great date night . But it's sad, that every time we go half of the comedians are too high to function and barely get through their set. Everyone in the crowd just stares awkwardly until their set is over bc they're not funny, they don't make sense & just lost within themselves. I can't believe the improv hasn't made a policy about this! Why would we keep paying to see people if they aren't even coherent. (I get it happens sometimes but not every single time I go) Sometimes is so bad we just leave and go to copper blues next door which is great & it's where you go to the bathroom when at the improv. Love this location! It's spacious, clean, and the staff is organized as well as pleasant. I came here with a friend to see "Watch Jazzy" perform on a Sunday night and was able to walk right in without the normal long line and wait that I've experienced with several other improv locations through out Florida as well as D.C. My daughters took me to Miami Improv (MI) as a surprise birthday gift to see the hilarious Margaret Cho do her stand-up act. They had me put the address into the GPS and drive. Soon we arrived at CityPlace Doral, where MI is situated. It was a busy, vibrant Saturday night and the parking situation was a clusterf..k but we persevered. Getting in at Will Call went smoothly, and we went into the rather large room, which was nearly packed to capacity. We were extreme stage left, but I'd say there's not a bad seat in the house. After the opening act, Margaret came on....so funny, touching on topics such as Trump, being Korean, LGBTQ humor, and the celebrity college bribery scandal. My sides ached from laughing so hard. Unfortunately, there were several things I didn't like about MI. 1) The service was NOT good. Our server came by at the beginning for our order, and returned soon enough, but then afterwards, he was virtually nowhere to be found. There is a prominent sign at the front door saying, " 2 drink minimum NO Exceptions"...well, I WOULD like another drink if you would come around more often. When we finally did get the second round, the server spilled a beer all over my daughter. After issuing a half-hearted apology, he dropped off a stack of bar napkins for "us" to clean up "his" mess. For the longest time, the giant mountain of soggy bar naps stayed on our table, with no attempt made to remove them. In contrast, the table between us and the stage had a hovering helicopter of a server, who got into long ordering sessions with much gesticulating, blocking everyone's line of sight to the stage. 2) drink menu; nice drinks...no prices listed. I opted for Bud Light so as not to wear out my daughters' credit cards. 3) Phone usage enforcement: I played by the rules, turning off and pocketing my phone. However, all around us, talking, texting, and videoing while some bouncer-looking employee just looked on. Ugh! 4) Restroom: there isn't one...you have to go next door to Copper Blues, and negotiate the gyrating bodies across the dance floor to get to it. For a comedy club, I MUCH prefer Comedy Inn in Palmetto Bay. It is a smaller more intimate space, and has an unlimited premium bar where you can get a drink when you want it. My friend and I came to see Anjelah Johnson and her show was fantastic. We had already eaten at BRIMSTONE downstairs before we got there but we wanted something to munch on so I asked the waiter for a recommendation. He recommended the LOADED CHIPS which I wasn't excited about but I decided to listen. I'm so glad I did because they were awesome! We ordered sodas that showed up really late and it was a little difficult to get the waiter but overall, we had a fantastic time. City Place Doral is great...except that it's in Doral. Getting there was a bit of a nightmare in rush hour traffic. For this reason, I'd recommend seeing the later show which I will remember to do next time. Definitely a great evening! read more

Food was mid. Service is slow and doesnt get your orders right. They make you put your phones in pouches so you don't record or anything, which is fine, but since its so dark and you cant use your phone from some light, they charge you for items that weren't on your bill hoping to get away with it. Had a great time Friday night at the Miami Improv. Watched Arsenio Hall with my girl. We had dinner drinks and watched the show. Arsenal was down to earth and funnier than ever. The opening act was very good as well. If had a Friday night off so I took advantage of it. Good drinks, comfortable atmosphere and great company with lots of laughs... Arsenial was really stoned. The venue is great for comedy. It's very spacious and you get a great view to the stage from wherever you are sitting. Staff seems to be so busy with sitting everyone quick that they seem to forget about some tables. We did not get a server for a while. Show had starter and we had not been served . Terrible customer service. There was a comedy show I was trying to buy tickets for as a birthday gift to my girlfriend since she loved the comedian. The Friday night 10:30pm show was sold out, but I reached out to the Miami Improv to see about being added to a wait list or if there was a way I could purchase additional tickets. They called me back the next day and said they would be opening up more tickets and asked if I would be interested in bottle service. They STRONGLY recommended it since I would get better seats, no longer need a 2 drink minimum and would help me secure the tickets. After taking my credit card info and what bottles I wanted, they said they would call me back once tickets opened up so I can purchase them. 2 days later I received an email saying that they were opening tickets and wanted my phone number to call me, I replied immediately and they called me within 5 minutes. I was then told that they DIDN'T HAVE ANY TICKETS LEFT. I was told they opened up more tickets over the weekend and they all sold. I was never contacted or told otherwise. After hanging up and breaking the bad news to the birthday girl, I tried calling back numerous times to speak with a manager (or anyone really). No answer. I emailed asking to speak with a manager and received a reply with "there's not much we can do". But no call or reply from a manager. I tried calling numerous times again, no answer. I replied to the email again, no answer. Not sure how they can keep a business running with this type of customer service, but I will be going to other venues to see comedy shows. read more

Went to see T.J. Miller with friends, great overall experience! Checking out their lineup of comedians, I foretell another visit in the near future. It's the perfect date night or a night out with friends/co-workers- the food/drinks/experience did not dissapoint. I visited the old Miami Improv when it existed in the Grove a handful of times and this one does not compare -- this venue is larger, has an expanded menu, parking is abundant and you can't beat how conveniently located it is to the expressway, plus it still has that NEW smell. read more

I was able to score some tickets at the last minute to go see Bob Saget here. I purchased the tickets online for $32 each and claimed them at the box office. The Improv is located on the second floor and fairly easy to find. The venue was clean and for a spot that is pretty new they sure had the hang of it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Some of the drinks were a little pricey but overall they were tasty. You also have the option of purchasing VIP tickets or reserving a table by ordering a bottle. I already purchased tickets for another show which goes without saying that I love this place! read more

I love comedy and loved this place! I came here for pre-Valentine's day to see Cristian perform and I have to say the service, food, and the comedians were excellent! They have a 2 drink minimum whether it is alcoholic or non alcoholic. The food/drinks are fairly priced considering the location and the fact that it is the Improv. Prices range between $10-$17 for the food. I got 2 glasses of pinot and the fish tacos (Gratuity is included). Our server was great; he was very attentive always making sure we had everything we needed. The bathrooms are inside the bar next door. The bar next door is a cool spot to get a drink before or after the comedy show. All the comedians were excellent!! They had the whole room cracking up. I believe the show took approximately a little under 2 hours and the time flew by. We had so much fun. Perfect place to take a date or just hang out with friends/family (adults only). read more
