The room is very nice and updated but that is the only thing nice about this hotel. Front desk is terrible, pool is very tiny not nice, overpriced rooms because of location. Lots of ghetto people staying at the hotel and a ton of marijuana smoking. I've been to a lot nicer marriotts. This is just a place to sleep if you need to go to Miami. read more

This is the worst stay I have EVER had at a Marriott chain. When I was checked into the hotel I was informed that the room I was initially assigned was not ready and I could opt into staying in another room however, I was warned that the room was in/near construction and it could be nosey. I asked if it became to nosey could I move and the front desk person told me yes. I accepted the room and changed my mind after not being able to tolerate the noise and seeing the room also wasn't clean. There was hair/dirt in the sink/tub, dirt on the furniture and spots on the bed. I didn't go back by the front desk immediately because I had to rush off to a meeting that lasted for about 1-1.5hrs however soon as my meeting released us for lunch I sent a chat message in the app before noon. No one responded so after a hr or so I went to the front desk where I was greeted by a rude gentleman that accused me of lying. A manager was pulled into the situation where she was dismissive, argumentative and unhelpful. They treated me as if I was lying to try to get a room change. The manger attempted to make excuses instead of being professional and utilizing conflict resolution. The manager stated that the entire hotel is under construction and I should have knew that when I selected them. I replied that's not what I was told when I checked in but fine I now understand I won't get any rest but my room is still dirty what can you do about that. The manager then stated that the room was cleaned the day before so it should be fine despite what I told her. The manager also stated that I had already been in the room a entire day a full 24hrs before complaining about it being unclean. I attempted to explain to her that she must have me confused with someone else I had barely been in the room 2hrs and that I just checked in today not yesterday. I attempted to explain I immediately had a work meeting after checking in but I did send a earlier chat message in the app concerning the cleanliness. After insisting that I was a guest for almost 2 days already she saw her error and then stated well you've been here since 9am that's still 3hrs in the room already. I then again explained I didn't check in until around or closer to 10am I have not been here that long as my plane didn't land until 9:15am, I even offered to show her my plane ticket. I explained that instead of offering options to resolve a customer complaint she's arguing and making up excuses for everything I bring to her. The manager continued to attempt to argue with me while the front desk gentleman stared at me with the meanest look rolling his eyes. The manager told me that because I'm using a Goverment rate and received a early check in they have already given me a courtesy and did me a favor by allowing early check in. I replied that me receiving a Goverment rate as an employee because I'm here for a Goverment conference shouldn't have anything to do with my requests and if I wasn't going to be allowed to give feed back because I checked in early I should have been told that at check in. I realized that the manager wasn't interested in resolving anything and to defuse the situation I walked away as I had to go back to my conference. Additionally when I woke up the next day on Nov 20th and requested a later check out I called the front desk and whoever answered initially told me no. When I asked why they begrudgingly gave it to me then hung up in my face. No one ever came to my room during my stay to verify the filth that I was left to sleep in and no one contacted me back to resolve my complaints during my stay. This has been the most unprofessional experience I've ever had with Marriott and I am not pleased with my stay. I had to stay in a filthy room where there was also a odor coming from the bathroom the night of my stay. I didn't bother contacting the front desk about the odor because they had already made it clear that they didn't care about my concerns. I have never been made to feel as though I was less than because I book a Goverment rate or request a early check in however if that's what Marriott is allowing I will move my hotel preference over to another brand because the way I have been treated is unacceptable. AS IM WRITING THIS COMPLAINT WATER STARTED DRIPPING ON MY HEAD FROM THE CEILING LEAKING! HAD THAT RUDE MANAGER MOVED ME LIKE I REQUESTED WHEN I FIRST ASKED THIS WOULDN'T BE HAPPENING! Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay - Water leaking from the ceiling - Hotels Near Me - Miami, Florida

I recently had my wedding on a cruise and my wedding party guests and I stayed in the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel for 2 nights leading up to the wedding.   I always like to start off with the positive so, I was able to get into my suite early and the hotel was beautiful and clean. I absolutely loved my suite!  It was gorgeous with a great view, and it was perfect for prewedding photos.   Now, for the not-so-great parts of my stay and the lack of communication/preparation from the hotel. Previously, I was in communication with the hotel event coordinator who, unexpectedly, was switched by the hotel a week or two before the event. I was told that the new event coordinator was aware of all my arrangements but was located off site so, that I needed to a front desk employee when communicating anything I needed. I want to preface this by saying I was not stressed at all during my wedding but, I was only stressed by the hiccups that the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel staff made.   #1) Since my wedding party and I were flying in from California, I had to have items for the wedding sent to the hotel prior to the wedding. I shipped a box of my flower arrangements to the hotel where I was told that they would be kept in a secure place for me upon our arrival. When I received my box, it was smashed and falling apart. Something heavy was put on top of it and all of my flowers had to be rearranged. It was a sign to me that they were not being mindful or caring about a day that is so important not just for me but any bride.   #2) In my contract with the hotel, which was agreed upon a year prior in October 2023, my wedding guests staying in the hotel were supposed to receive drink vouchers for the wedding welcome event upon arrival. This was not the case however, and I had to request that they provide the vouchers that were agreed upon in my contract. Hotel staff claimed they never heard about this and had to get in contact with upper management and await approval. When it was finally approved, they delivered the vouchers to everyone's rooms. The issue was that the staff delivering the drink vouchers, not only did they NOT knock but, entered the rooms with no warning. In one of the rooms, were young children and I find that highly unprofessionally and potentially dangerous. Additionally, at my wedding welcome event I discovered from my guests that the drink vouchers only allowed you to have one specific type cocktail. Again, this was not listed in my contract and I was not told that this would be the case. I expected limited options but, to only have one specific liquor for a large group of guests caught me by surprise and was quite disappointing on a special night for me. Overall, there was a lack of communication between their event coordinator, staff and management which resulted in extra work on my end to make sure things were what we agreed upon and what I paid for. I heard from the hotel staff that they did not want to stress me out at all but, the entire weekend felt like constant emailing back-and-forth and extra effort on my end to ensure my needs were met. The day of the wedding welcome event, Sunday, I was rightfully frustrated and on the verge of tears talking to them instead of getting dressed for the event Sunday night. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. My only recommendation is better communication amongst the staff and their customers for any event being held at the Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel. read more

The keys we have doesn't work to M lounge. There was no body wash when we got into the room. Asked them to replace it for them to only make our bed and clean up the place but forgetting to replace the body wash. The burger at the restaurant was good. There's a Starbucks here with a smaller menu. I didn't find much to do in this area. But the tram is here. read more

I was visiting family down in Miami and I wanted to stay close them so I stayed at this Marriott location. I thought this wasy first time visiting this property but as it turned out, I had stayed here years ago with a former employer. The hotel has changed alot. The lobby looked new. Their is construction on the exterior going on. Rooms were in good condition amd the views were fantastic from my room. I can't stop looking at the bay. The gym is a nice size amd there are plenty of fitness options. The onsite Bar and Restaurant was good as well. If you want to walk around the property, there is a path behind the hotel that takes you too the peer/marina and a local. Pretty nice hotel. Will stay there next time around. read more

This building always seems for have foot traffic, it's a hotel, condo, and has a connecting commercial area. The lobby itself is nothing fancy though dimly lit. There's an attached restaurant or two that attract a fancy crowd. Valet parking or self. Close to the metro mover and the scenic bay. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I contemplated writing this review and ultimately finally decided to do so. I booked a wedding block here along with a small event for two hours one evening back the other month. Setting up the room block and booking and working with group housing team was good. But that's it. Everything else was the complete opposite. Communication at this hotel is literally 0. Weekend of room block/event: First of all, the front desk was severely short staffed and checking in was a nightmare. I also had several guests who had issues with their rooms. Hotel again was short staffed so no one was able to help them. Broken shower, Cribs that were promised were not delivered, my father needed a wheelchair accessible room. The room was classified as "handicapped accessible" but was not accessible for his wheelchair, specifically. Separately, I had major issues with the event staff. The event manager that was assigned to me was horrific, no communication at all, and at the end overcharged me a significant amount beyond the contract we agreed. This was ultimately resolved later on after hard pushes to finally talk to the event director. I tried calling multiple times to get the GM of the hotel, left messages with her assistant and general mailbox to express how upset I was with the entire experience, and went completely ignored. So with my experience with having a small event and my guests experience with their rooms for room block for my wedding.... I say...AVOID!!! read more

The views from here are absolutely amazing. No better place in Miami to watch Biscayne bay. Everyone who works here is very friendly and helpful but the food options are not very good. Breakfast is just not good. The M Club has the ambiance of a Fairfield Inn when they try to sell it as upscale. The menu at the restaurant is honestly odd and I've been to so many Marriott's with lovely restaurants and this just isn't one of them. Downtown Charlotte, NC for instance is an older hotel with a much trendier restaurant with a better menu focused on local sourcing. But you know, it's Miami and there are so many awesome places to try. Just do those instead and stay here for the view and lovely staff. read more

Checked into Miami Marriot Biscayne Bay and was immediately greated and bags were taken to the check in desk. Check-in was a breeze because my room was already booked so I only had to put a credit card on file for incidentals and was off to my room. My room was partially facing the ocean and the pool. The room was very nice and a nice size. The bathroom was a little small but functional. Overall I am happy with the room and service. I was a little hungry so I asked the receptionists about places to eat and was informed they have a restaurant on the property and there is also other restaurant in the mall attached to the hotel or I could take a Uber and go to restaurants off of the property. I was tired from traveling so I chose an Asian restaurant on the property (lookout for my review of Tanka Modern Asian Cuisine). If you are ever in Miami and want a nice hotel off of the strip check this place out. read more

A cruise ship must have landed here. The place is wild. I tried to switch rooms cause the hall and neighbors were partying from 930pm-330am VERY LOUD. When I say loud, I mean like there might as well have been a rock concert in my room that may have been quieter. They would not let me switch rooms, and the solution was for me to let the neighbors know they were being loud. Spending over a week in Miami. Working on a project and my team decided to stay here. From day one, there were a series of minor (but annoying issues). First they a undergoing a major renovation, the signs, we are doing this to "improve your future stay"... Well based on my current stay, I am not coming back. The list of things wrong include: 1. The gym was missing equipment, 2. They closed the pool, 3. In the middle of the week they canceled self parking and forced you to use the expensive valet parking 4. Worst Marriott I've ever stayed at, ever - dirty, rude employees, currently under heavy construction (and wasn't notified!), room smelled musty. Titanium elite, got here and went to elite check in line which was empty, employee there rudely told me to go to the back of the longer regular line (not a big deal, but her attitude was too much) why the heck was she standing in elite check in? .... it's customary for an elite member to use the elite check in! If she didn't want that, she should have stood in the other OPEN non-elite check in desks... that's a picture of the rude (and confused) employee. Inthe morning. there was heavy construction at 10AM on a Saturday. So extremely loud, that I couldn't hold a phone call. During the check in, they didn't notify us that the construction would be taking place directly in the room next to us (check out the noise on the video)... tried to call the front desk multiple times but no one even picked up! This hotel was able to accommodate such a large group. Conveniently located on the harbor, this hotel offered great views and easy access to shops, restaurants, and a short drive to South Beach and the Wynwood Art District. The check-in was a breeze thanks to the excellent customer service representatives as our Sales Manager, Albert Baez. Albert was readily available before, during, and after check-out. Highlights: Spacious rooms with great views of the water/cruise ships Walking distance to grocery store and eateries. Pool/Hot tubs on the 5th floor and tons of meeting spaces Several restaurants and bars on the premises. Location, not very good...or near anything worthwhile. However, freeway close and convenient to get anywhere in Miami. I chose this because it's airport close (~5 miles), close to the freeway, and nicely priced. It was definitely all those things. It feels like a boutique hotel. Not monstrous but I think it offers it all. Meeting rooms, a restaurant, a coffee café, and an upscale lobby and overall design. What I enjoyed most was the room. A high floor with a balcony overlooking the bay...and the skyline was filled with all types of buildings, lights, and things to look at. I am writing this review after one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've ever experienced. I rarely complain and was here to relax and celebrate my wife's birthday--hardly expecting this level of poor service and unprofessionalism. Below, I outline the issues that turned what should have been a special stay into an aggravating ordeal. Let's begin with the appalling behavior of the staff at the bar on the night of December 30th. A large man was working there, and his attitude was simply unacceptable. He didn't greet guests or offer a menu, instead resorting to rude nods that made it clear he didn't want to be there. The bar counter was filthy--wet, stained, and left a mess from previous guests. I had to explicitly ask him to clean it. This was not only embarrassing but demonstrated a complete disregard for basic hospitality standards. On top of this, the list of issues is staggering: Untrained and Indifferent Front Desk Staff: Long queues due to understaffing, with only one employee showing any level of professionalism. The rest were uninterested, and frankly, patronizing. Overpriced and Low-Quality Food: $76 for two Caesar salads that took 35 minutes to arrive. What was served was laughable--three uncut pieces of lettuce, a few cherry tomatoes, and side portions of chicken and bacon. A complete insult at that price point. Dirty Corridors and Poor Housekeeping: The hallways were dirty and never vacuumed. Towels in the room smelled of smoke or were simply unclean. There wasn't even complimentary water, a basic amenity expected at Marriott properties. Neglected Pool Area: The pool was a mess. The bar was closed, the jacuzzi didn't work, and there was no service or lifeguard present. Dirty towels littered the sunbeds, and bizarrely, staff allowed guests to bring and eat outside takeaway food at the pool, even assisting them with their bags! Room Issues: An alarm clock left set for 5:00 AM by the previous guest meant an unwelcome wake-up call, and shower gel wasn't replenished after the first night. Basic housekeeping errors that are simply inexcusable. Customer Service Failures: When I asked for a universal charger, I was met with a flat "we don't have it," without any effort to assist further. A request to book a local dinner reservation was also declined, with no explanation or offer to help. And when I asked for the GM's email--a standard business tool--I was told "no," as if they were doing me a favor by even speaking to me. The only positive was the room itself, which was modern with a nice view. Unfortunately, that does little to offset the numerous failings that ruined our stay. This hotel clearly has no interest in guest satisfaction or maintaining even basic standards of cleanliness, service, or hospitality. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call to management. I'll be advising others to avoid this property at all costs. read more

I do not usually write complaints such as this and especially not against Marriott, but this is the 3rd time in last 2 years I've had this same issue with Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay and their highly incompetent staff. I am a lifetime titanium ambassador at Marriott -- the highest ranking member in the world --with millions of dollars invested in the Marriott brand. Our business flys in potential clients and I personally go to the hotel in advance to check them in for a seamless check-in process when they arrive. I provide my credit card information and give clear instructions to put that card on file so that our guests only need to give their names and are then handed their room keys. As a CEO, I barely have time to brush my teeth let alone spend my time to go and check in prospective clients, but I take this extra step to ensure there are no issues and this Marriott branch completely wastes my time and leaves a bad taste in the mouths of our clients. Each time this issue happens, I am assured it will never happen again and it does. Specifically my staff dealt with a staff member named Lily who "lost" the reservation and demanded my client provide credit card information (against my explicit instructions). How can they lose a reservation when I checked them in ahead of time and left my credit card information? What's even worse is that when you try to call they put you on hold for 15 minutes and then hang up on you. This branch needs to get their act together. I'm sick of supporting their careless and lackadaisical branch at Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay. Their poor customer service and attitude has affected me and my business for the last time. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience recommend this branch to anyone, especially to tired travelers who prefer not to be greeted by unpleasant and incompetent staff who lose reservations and can't take simple instructions. Ironically, after all of this, my client was given access to the wrong room and was checked in TWO HOURS after her arrival due to THEIR mistakes. read more

The hotel was excellent, and they were redoing the pool area, so the bar and pool were closed. Came here for a quick two night stay and, it was VERY loud. Both nights they had special events and parking was an issue. Not only was there tremendous noise by a prom one night, but more issues the following night, but also had difficulty finding parking. I had to call three times to get the toilet fixed (it didn't flush at all) so I used the bathroom in the lobby while I waited. Finally, after the third call, I said "either move me, or fix it" and then someone finally did. And, left the dirty towel they used on the floor. Nice touch. I have top status through Marriott and they had a lounge that was only open one of the days I was there. Usually, you're given some sort of "make-up" for the inconvenience... extra points, waived parking, something.. Not here. I definitely let the host know when I checked out and was surprised I didn't get a follow up. Not expecting a return visit to the area, but given the amount of hotel choices, I wouldn't expect to return to this one. read more

I spent two nights at the Marriott Biscayne Bay in November, courtesy of the Miami Book Fair, which filled it with authors for the weekend of the festival. I was very pleased with my stay--it was both one of the best Marriotts and the best conferencey business hotels I've visited over the years, especially on someone else's dollar. My husband and I flew into Miami on a redeye and hoped to get early check-in when we arrived at 9:30 on a Friday morning. The woman at the front desk was very nice. She let us know that unfortunately, they didn't have anything available just yet but that she'd let us know as soon as a room freed up. We said we understood, but casually mentioned that we'd come in on a redeye and I was pregnant. She dug a little deeper and came up with a room. (For the record, I think it's good that she didn't just give us the room right away. There should be a few rooms set aside for people who might be pregnant and exhausted or otherwise in great need of that precious early check-in.) When we got to our room, it was clear that we'd been given a generous upgrade. The room was spacious, and we were on a high floor with a great view. This was very much appreciated, and as it turned out, we really needed that early check-in--we ended up napping until three in the afternoon. The bed was quite comfortable. I was also impressed with the general cleanliness and good vibes of the hotel. It wasn't super fancy or anything, but it felt cheerful and renovated. The restaurant/bar/room service situation could've been better, but it served its purpose. We spent a lot of time at Catch Grill & Bar over the course of the weekend. The food was bad, but we enjoyed the outdoor space. My husband got room service one night while I had a work dinner, and it was fine if hilariously no frills--a pizza in a box in paper bag, billed as "a fresh take on dining." My one complaint about this Marriott is that we left an expensive pair of earphones in our room, and when we called the hotel the next day, we were told there was no sign of them. I hate this shit. We definitely left them there, and someone obviously tossed or pocketed them. I don't understand why things like headphones and phone chargers just disappear into a void when you check out of some hotels. In any case, we had a lovey stay at the Marriott Biscayne Bay and would recommend it if you're in need of a business hotel in downtown Miami. If I ever get invited back to the book fair, I'd be glad to come back to this hotel. read more

It's an older property and they tried to keep up with the new ones! Right next to Art Miami so it was perfect for Art Basel Miami 2019 for you to attend! Nice Christmas decorations in the lobby, that's probably the nicest thing about this Marriott! Although, comfortable bed, basic bathroom amenities, nothing special but if you are a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassadors or Platinum, chances are they will upgrade you to a nicer view room! No slipper nor robe in the closet, just a basic Marriott. Super loud AC, so if you are light sleeper, be careful! They need some tune up to keep up with other Marriott Bonvoy hotels in town! Catch restaurant was mediocre food, but they do open till 11 pm. We got the water view and the city view! Good service by the bellman and valet guys, and front desk too! read more

Stayed here for the Super Bowl and had an awesome centered view of the bay and the Venetian Highway and the gorgeous Miami sunrises glowing the sky. While the hotel itself is a pretty standard work trip kinda place, it has a gym and pool (which I didn't use) and is walking distance from the Adrienne Arscht Theatre, Wynwood, and this delicious cafe Almibre Açaí Bar, and more. Walk along the bay in the morning for such a good start to your day. read more

Really fantastic location with a resort like feel. Get room on a higher floor and enjoy the views. Concourses are busy with patrons - so be prepared to mix with holiday and business crowd (in other words, it's not a quiet shy place nestled in a corner). Breakfast area can be crowded during rush hour and the egg station lines can get long. However, selection and and service is decent. The bar with outdoor seating next to the pier and shore are the one that puts this over a the top. read more

This was my worst Marriott hotel stay ever, I wish I would have taken photos of how bad it was. First things first, the mobile key didn't work at any point in my stay. Then to the room, the hotel is under renovation for the entire year so there was a terrible view of machinery and the molded pool, constant construction so it was impossible to enjoy the balcony and LOUD. NOISE. the. entire. time. The worst part, I stayed in this hotel as part of a bridal party and men on a construction crane kept swinging by as we got dressed in one of the suites. We had to call the front desk and have a manager request for the construction crane to stop which was completely unacceptable. There's no reason why guests in a room on the 23rd floor should have to hide from being seen in there undergarments. Overall terrible experience. read more

This hotel is located between Miami Beach and South Beach... sort of squished between the two with Coral Gables just 6 miles away. The Art District is close by but probably too hot to walk there. Great food to be found throughout the art district. Not a terrible location but also not what you want if you are looking for a SOBE experience. The hotel is decent but the rooms are showing their age. Lots of wear and tear in these rooms. Coffee shop in lobby has good coffee but not a Starbucks and not authentic Cuban coffee.. If you can get a room for a good price and don't mind driving to the happenings around Miami it's not a bad choice. read more

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. THEY ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL AND THIS HOTEL DOESN'T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE IN THE "MARRIOT" HOTEL FAMILY. We booked hundreds of rooms here for our company training sessions. The rooms were not available when we arrived, the mics didn't work in the training room, the food was late, and then there was not enough food. Everything about this experience was terrible. The hotel restaurant is awful. They give you a $25 credit to spend in the restaurant because they can't get people to go regularly. We had an issue with our room, did 4 formal complaints and the issue was not resolved. They didn't reach out to us in regards to the service, we had to reach out to them. The manager on duty didn't answer any phone calls or texts, she sent an "Im sorry email and offered 5,000 points for the experience". This managers name was Maria Scafuro, and we emailed her @ maria.scafuro@marriott.com. After this terrible experience with Maria they pushed me over to Cynthia Lora. She didn't have the time to discuss and made it as if this wasn't a big deal. With comments like " These things happen here" and "Im so sorry, things happen". She was full of excuses. We reached out to the exec board and will document our experience there as well. There are way too many hotels to stay here. The DoubleTree by Hilton right across the street is half the price. Has a better view and better food and drinks. Save yourself the headache. EDIT: This is comical. Maria can reply to the reviews but she can't pick up the phone or reply to an email for a Titanium Elite member. We will take the 63 nights we stayed at Marriot and take our business elsewhere. read more

The location right off the causeway to Miami Beach is great, and it sits right on the water above a marina offering really impressive water views if you have a room on that side of the hotel. Visiting during New Years and it being within sight of Miami's bustling cruise port, the hotel was very busy. It took a while to get checked in, and they could not accommodate a room upgrade or early check in due to it being to capacity. The rooms are not noticeably worn, but they are in need of an upgrade as the style is a bit dated. An executive lounge on the 12th floor has breathtaking views that are a must, and they have a fridge full of free water and soda. If you need some supplies for you room, there is a Publix supermarket a couple blocks away. read more

We booked this hotel solely for its view of the bay. It is a pretty basic hotel, nothing special. I am Marriott rewards member, so I used the app to check-in the day before and have a mobile key made. It didn't work, so I decided I would try again once I got to Miami. We landed in Fort Lauderdale around 12:15 and I used the app again to create a mobile key and it said the key would be ready in a few minutes. Fast forward to 1:00pm (when we were scheduled to check-in) the mobile key wasn't ready so we still had to go by the front desk to check-in and get a physical key card. The lady at the front counter was new and had to be helped through the check-in process which took a little longer, but it wasn't too bad. We were expecting to be given a balcony room with a view of the pool and bay (what we reserved), but we were informed they did not have anymore of those rooms. Instead we were offered just a bay view room on a higher floor which was said to have a nicer view than the room we reserved....fine, whatever. Like I stated before, the room is basic, but still nice. You can see the wear and tear on it especially in the bathroom (see photos). The view was definitely amazing and if it wasn't for the view, I'd give the hotel a 2. The beds and pillows are super squishy which I did not like and it was hard for me to get a good night's rest. I was surprised by how big the TV in the room was though...a pleasant surprise and nice to watch college football on. I'd probably opt to skip out on flying in a day early for my cruise and just fly out same day since I live in Georgia. However, if that's not an option for me, I'd look for other lodging options. read more

If I had stayed here another night I would have lost my mind. I felt trapped. I see a lot of people saying "great location", but every time we were arriving to or leaving the hotel we just watched the minutes click by while we were stuck in traffic. We did happen to be in Miami during Art Basel which added to the crowding in this area, but it's Miami- there is usually something going on. Traffic flow isn't the hotel's fault, but if we were arriving at a place that provided any reprieve, it would have made up for this nuisance. Instead, we were arriving to a building under construction with old rooms, old decor, old bedding, great views but a sliding glass door that you can't open and AC that barely works (we had ours set to 63 just to keep it below 78 in the room). I'm glad they are investing in refurbishing, but if these things will annoy you look for something else in the meantime and avoid this headache. I will say that we were advised of the construction noise when we were checked in, and didn't find it to be that annoying. We were on the 22nd floor, bayside, and weren't in the room much at all during the day. Bring earplugs if you need to sleep in past 9am. read more

this has been the worst experience I have ever had staying in a bonvoy hotel. I travel a lot all over the world. And I always stay in a bonvoy hotels. The hotel staff were very rude. The pool was down at the time. we were never informed by the hotel that the pool was down. They had an alternative pool to use in another hotel. However, we were never informed of this until the last day of our stay and I asked on several occasions about the pool situation. when I complained about not being told about the other pool. the staff treated me like a difficult hotel guest and were even ruder. They never told us about the other pool. The restaurant food was not that great. The only positive thing I can say about the hotel. The new renovated rooms were nice and we had a great view. Would absolutely not recommend a stay here. The hotel is run down, the walls were filthy dirty, the room had a smell of mustiness and for the price I have to say I am stunned. When speaking with the front desk about it, there was nothing they could do so I'm guessing all the rooms are in this condition. We paid for a higher floor to have the concierge lounge and wouldn't you know, it's closed. When asking about late checkout, its $50 per hour - for this dump I wouldn't even consider it. Must mention that our bathroom smelled like very bad BO.. I am writing this as a platinum (ambassador) status, so I have some different expectations because of certain benefits. At the bare minimum, the stay always felt so interrupted and not fitting as a vacation whatsoever. 1. First of all, the awful strong bathroom smelled: We were too lazy to change rooms because we didn't find out until hours after we checked in because we dropped our things off and went out. 2. The hallways get loud if anyone speaks, very bad sound insulation from the hallways and slamming doors. I recommend wearing ear plugs because people return to their rooms very late or leave early in the morning and any of the hallway sounds can wake you. 3. I was cold called 3 times by their lobby Marriitt Vacation Club desk to try to attend their timeshare talk. The first two times, I declined. And the third call was early in the morning and most frustrating because they specifically asked if I was checking out today and wanted to go to their presentation, so they wanted to try to catch me before leaving. Their cold call woke me up hours before my alarm. I just find this additional selling tactic very tasteless because it seems each day is a new seller, and they don't regard any of the previous responses you give. 4. Platinum benefit: concierge lounge. They have great staff there, they're all so friendly, but I'm disappointed that they don't serve breakfast, and you're only provided a continental breakfast voucher (no hot foods such as scrambled eggs, that costs $5 to upgrade to) 5. A huge shock was receiving envelopes and packages...it costs $5 per envelope and $7+ per package depending on weight. Fortunately as ambassador status, the fees are waived, but be extremely wary of sending any packages to yourself here. If it's from Amazon, send them to an Amazon locker nearby instead. 6. The iron was broken, and we didn't get a replacement for awhile, which delayed our departure out waiting for the iron to be delivered. Overall, so many things interrupted and disturbed our stay, it did not feel like a great and relaxing vacation. read more
