    Chicken and Grits

Such a beautiful hotel. My family and I stayed here before we headed out on our cruise. The location was near everything. My room faced the water and Bayside. It was such a beautiful site. Since I arrived pretty late to the hotel, I decided to do dinner at the hotel. My waiter, Frank, was amazing! He was very attentive and gave his faves to help me choose a dish. I went with the chicken and grits. Delicious! The bed was really comfortable and I was extremely pleased with my stay. The front desk staff was absolutely amazing! 10/10 would stay again.

Stayed July 2025 with husband and family (big birthday trip). Check-in started out great they were very cheery and friendly. Cannot trust their cleaning. There was toilet paper in our toilet. But we brushed that off and I got out my clorox wipes to sanitize the bathroom. However ... see pictures for the Contact lens stuck on the shower door from a previous person. Called and they sent housekeeping to get it. That person offered to give some points for the lack of cleaning. Sliding glass door did not lock. Took 2 different engineers coming to our room. So lots of time wasted. A/C did not work well in our room. Ice machine on our floor never worked. We did let them know & they suggested we get ice from a different floor, which we did. Mind you, it is HOT in Miami. Just sharing my not so great experience. We did talk to someone at the front desk and got pushed around there. Felt like we were annoying him and he just wanted to give us the breakfast in their club for our room, but we were with a group. Settled on 100 f&b credit. Which he ended up removing the resort credit (for both days of our stay) that we got when we initially checked in. So it ended up being less. We didn't feel like going back and wasting more of our vacation time to see of that was correct. First time staying in Miami and I don't think we'd pick this hotel again based on these. I hope your stay is much better.

I am communicating with the management regarding some of the housekeeping details. The customer service is fantastic! The M Club is well stocked and attended by amazingly welcoming people. I enjoyed my stay! Beautiful property!

This is really 4.5 star experience, but would like to be generous. 2 night stay on business. Got nice room with balcony and expansive view of the Bay. Titanium upgrade works, sometimes. Good sized room, clean. The furniture is dated, but nothing out of ordinary. Service was quite friendly and cheerful, absolutely no complaints! The cost was quite reasonable. M Club presence is a big plus too. Location is ok, could be better, but, once again, it is prime real estate, Bay front property.

Location & room view are the only good thing about this restaurant, it's walking distance to everything and you can take the free trolley to everywhere. View is gorgeous. Service sucks ! Check in being an Elite you are asked for ID and dealt with in an abrupt manner. M lounge for members you get asked if the extra food on your table you were taking it as that's not allowed. Maybe we are slow eaters ??? Breakfast buffet they ran out of plates so there was a long line everywhere and omelette station was a mess. Rooftop/ edge water bar the sever disliked her job. We sat there for 15 minutes no service. We went up to her and she was just standing there. We left and said have a Greta afternoon not a word. I couldn't believe this was a Marriott hotel! Overall we booked this for the location for our quick trip to Miami.

We had a positive one night stay here before our cruise, and enjoyed the fabulous view from our 27th floor balcony. Beautiful decor with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was rather tiny though.

Homeless sleeping in the lobby. They asked me for money for breakfast while I was working in the lobby.

Here are the main issues with our stay: 1. My daughter took a bath and the water was green. In addition, the bathtub would not drain. 2. When we went to lie down, there was a brown stain on the bedding. Management came to our room to verify both issues, apologized sincerely, and offered points along with a room upgrade. Unfortunately, this didn't help, as we were checking out the next morning. 3. Early the next morning, I went to the lobby to get some work done and found people sleeping there who were asking guests for money. If you are going to charge a resort fee, some of those funds should be allocated to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and a secure environment for paying guests.

Stayed here recently for five nights and enjoyed my stay. Rooms: - I initially had a room with a king size bed that I liked, but it shared a room with the elevator bank, which got to be pretty loud. If you're a deep sleeper, you won't notice it. - I was very grateful that I was able to move rooms. I moved to a room with two queen beds and slept very well. This hotel is on the quieter side (which I appreciated) and has great views. - Both of my rooms had balconies with great views of the surrounding buildings, the ocean, and the hotel pool Amenities: - The gym is a very good size (6 treadmills) with a lot of equipment and weights. The beautiful views also don't hurt. I was fortunate to catch a few sunrises while on the treadmill - The M Club on the first floor has breakfast and dinner hors d'oeuvres during certain hours for Marriott members - The Gold Coast restaurant on the first floor provides dine-in and room service options - There is a store on the first floor as well with necessities, souvenirs, snacks, and a small Starbucks (there is a full Starbucks through the doors in the lobby that lead next door) Miscellaneous: - I was staying here during Hurricane Milton and the staff was excellent. Even though we were very lucky and fortunate to be far enough away from the hurricane, there was still risk of the hurricane changing course. The staff remained calm, brought balcony furniture inside for safety purposes, left notices in everyone's room for precaution, and brought in those evacuating from other areas (including their dogs)

An attempt at a Ceaser Salad

My sister had the unfortunate experience of dining at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay Restaurant. She ordered a Caesar salad, but what came out looked more like a science experiment gone wrong. Honestly, it looks nasty. Is this supposed to be a Caesar? In what universe does this resemble the majestic dish we all know and love? As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words--so take a good look and do better.

(From March 2023) Checked in here around noonish on the Monday of March 13th. While disappointed they didn't have any rooms available, I walked around the city and the hotel complex before coming back to the front desk around 230 when my room was ready. It was worth the wait as they gave me a nice upgrade from a room to a suite overlooking the city on the 20th floor (Perks of being a long-time Marriott member). The renovations appear to be complete and it shows based on the cleaniness and modern feel of the room. Favorite part of the room is the overlook of the bay area with all the boats/yachts and the water. Other amenities is the workout room and the pool on the 7th floor. Also there's several large conference rooms on floors 2-4. Valet parking is here too but didn't apply for me. The hotel is quite pricy like all hotels in Miami so your best bet is to use points/awards for places like this. That was the only way I could afford to stay here. I can see why as you get what you pay for with establishments like this one!

12.08.22-My crew flew down to Miami for a cycling event. I was happy organizers selected this location as the host hotel. I support the Marriott brand & knew it was near the places I planned to visit during my time down South. The hotel's holiday decor is nice, but the hotel is still under construction. As such, there were many restricted areas, make shift bar, inoperable elevators, etc. I arrived around 11:00am and hung out with my friends who had renovated rooms on the 20th & 30th floors. Their rooms were nice with stunning views of the marina. When my roommate arrived, we checked in. Much to my chagrin, it was on the 6th floor in a non-renovated room with extremely loud construction noise. The 6th floor also has sad yellowish overhead lighting & a bathroom sink that didn't drain properly. We were right next to the construction site and subjected to constant banging. This was distressing to say the least. We rushed to the front desk to report our grievances. They couldn't accommodate any changes then advised to try again tomorrow. We tried and tried again. My girlfriend continued to advocate for the change when I had lost hope. Her perseverance worked and we moved to the 22nd floor in a renovated room. We left early in the mornings for bike rides & returned late afternoon. No Housekeeping...It took multiple calls to finally receive fresh linen and a bathroom cleaning. Disappointing experience. I expect a lot more from this chain.

Rooms are nice and updated. Elite lounge is pretty to look at but relatively useless during the day since there are no snacks (just Pepsi products so you're out of luck if you like Coca Cola). Views are nice if you're on a high floor and they had no issues honoring a late checkout for elite status. Catering food was so-so. Meeting rooms don't have consistent temperatures. Hotel had a fee unfortunately but at least you get some perks for it.

Walking distance to a Publix, the mall, bakery, etc. The hotel checkin is on the 6th floor, the first floor is mainly a seating area and concierge. They offer free hot breakfast, mini fridge and microwave in the room, cruise shuttle at time of this review is priced at $12 with pick up times at 10a, 11a, and 12p. If you miss breakfast, they had breakfast bags with fruit and other grab and go items. You will need your room key to access the laundry room and guest floors. There is no carpet in the room I was in (basic king- not the elite level) and pets are not allowed. Service animals only. The hotel has a lobby bar, three restaurants are located right next door (Sproutz, Batch Gastropub, and Shahs of Kabob). I dined at Sproutz and Shahas of Kabob and both are good, but they are not affiliated with the hotel. I stayed 3 nights prior to my cruise and I really enjoyed my stay. The air conditioner worked with no issues, pillows are very soft, bed was firm, but not uncomfortable and I slept better in that bed, than my own. There is a master light switch to control the overhead light in the entry and bathroom. You can operate them separately (it just takes some flipping of lights to figure it out). Decent water pressure and nice, hot water at night. Morning time I suggest getting your shower in early. Hot water is still present but not as hot as it was the night before. Tip- I took my shower at 5/6am the morning of checkout and the water was hot and perfect for a nice shower before leaving for cruise. Staff was always smiling, friendly and willing to assist. Carlos at the concerige desk is very helpful, ask for his recommendations and he is more than happy to assist. The 7th floor has the laundry facility, but many machines were out of order. This is going on my pre cruise hotel list because it was the perfect hotel and the perfect location. It was about a 15min ride to the cruise port and airport. My gf and I stopped through here on our way out before boarding our flights later in the afternoon. If you're toting your luggage and not a hotel guest, you will have to find another hotel to store your luggage while enjoying this most decadent brunch experience. Luckily we arrived early enough to our reservations to sort that out. Reservations are a must if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami!

First, the good, it's an awesome location on the southern tip of Brickell Key. The pool was wonderful and gets mostly continuous sun exposure during the day. My balcony faced west so I had sun during the afternoon as well (perfect for a tan). Honestly, I never felt like I needed to leave the resort being a pool guy. The base price room was spacious and mostly clean with a separate shower and tub. The bad- the service wasn't great here. I felt like anytime I needed something I had to ask 3-4 times before staff would remember (including freebies that were part of the room rate). The one time I asked a concierge for assistance he was super brash telling me to go talk to the front desk. The property felt old and in need of a renovation (again it's being demolished so not surprising in that context). Also, a lot of the ads for the resort promote its beach which no longer exists- it's now a model home for the condos going in. The hotel is pricey and gratuity is auto-included at 20% for everything which would be fine if the service was better and they didn't ask for additional tip on top of it. I wish I stayed here 20+ years ago because it felt like in its hay day this was a swanky hotel. Today, it's tired, on its last months, and the staff really don't seem like 5-star talent (as a benefit to the doubt most people would be unmotivated if things were shutting down too). Part of me is excited to try the new hotel whenever it opens, part of me wonders if the poor service is just part of the brand. The gym was tacky- literally they just through equipment in 6ish guest rooms with the doors propped open. Kind of funny but not 5-star hotel caliber.

Our attendant was attentive but not hovering, kept the drinks coming, and food came out fast. Everything we ordered was solid -- perfect pool-day food and refreshing cocktails. There is a minimum spend requirement for the cabana, but it was super easy to hit between food and drinks. And considering you're paying for a dedicated space, service, and a prime poolside setup, it felt worth it. Overall, it was the perfect day to unwind and feel a little luxe. I'd definitely book the Ivy cabana again.

From the moment we arrived with check-in, getting our bags to our room, we were treated like true VIPs. Once we got to the room, we had time to change and head to the pool. The evenings were great as we were able to sit out on the balcony and relax, while at the same time being in the lobby or hitting the restaurant was always great. We took advantage of the on-site yoga classes and the beach every day while we were there. The beach area was nice, in the servers supporting the beach I felt did their best to accommodate all of the guests outside. If you're a frequent AMEX user, I would definitely recommend going through your AMEX as it really did just make a difference. The grounds were well kept the pool was clean. The staff was friendly and most importantly, we had an overall great experience. I would definitely recommend it for anybody coming to South Beach to come here, as it's centrally located and it's easily accessible to lots of other activities you may want to consider.

Five stars for the location and awesome amenities…read more This hotel was the perfect place to stay at for a quick Miami getaway located walking distance to the beach and all the main things you could possibly want. After a long day of travel, we received two Prosecco as soon as we checked in and arrived. Our room was upgraded and it was located right across on top of the Naked Taco where the rooftop pool is at. It's perfectly located for anything you want to do, all the good food spots, bars, places, etc. The next day we went straight to the beach and they provide complimentary beach chairs, towels and umbrellas upon request and you just walk yourself to the beach with them. There's nothing like Miami Beach! The water was perfect and it felt so good to just defrost on the sand and dive into the gorgeous turquoise water. After a few hours at the beach, we went back, enjoyed late check out and headed to crunch fitness - which was absolutely worth it! We were able to leave our bags at the front desk while we worked out, grabbed a late lunch, some drinks and then got to come back and enjoy the rooftop pool during happy hour for drinks and snacks until sunset. It was the perfect Miami daycation that we needed!

And the five-star touch continued inside thanks to Melody, the Director of Front Desk, who made us feel like our stay actually mattered. We were celebrating a very special occasion--dinner plans were set, we simply needed a place to spend the night. What we got was an incredible room with a private terrace and a stunning view of South Beach. And as if it couldn't get any better, we were surprised with a complimentary bottle of champagne, which made for the perfect nightcap, and an even better start to the morning alongside our mimosa. If you're staying in South Beach, Dream is more than a name--it's an experience!

The Brickell area is a vibe, walkable and full of restaurants and shops, which makes it a perfect pre- or post-cruise stay. The hotel's proximity to the cruise port was a huge plus. Check-in is self-service, but assistance is available if needed, which made the process easy and convenient. The king bed does take up most of the room, stretching from the window to the wall, so the room feels a bit compact--but it's thoughtfully designed. The sink is located in the main room across from the bathroom, and I actually found the setup pretty functional. The shelves around the sink were stocked with a washcloth, hand towel, hair dryer, and tissues, plus hand soap and lotion at the end of the counter. There was also enough counter space for toiletries. There's an open closet area and a nice touch of wall art, and the laminated wood flooring gave the room a clean, modern feel. One of my favorite features was the in-room iPad that controls everything--such a fun tech-forward touch. I also absolutely loved the decor throughout the hotel. The colors are vibrant, playful, and stylish without feeling overdone. The second-floor seating areas were spacious and inviting, and the rooftop/pool space was another highlight. There's also a bar on the second floor with outdoor seating, which is a great spot to relax and people-watch. Overall, this hotel has a fun atmosphere, smart use of technology, and an unbeatable location. I'd definitely stay here again, especially for a quick stay before a cruise.

That said, the room itself was extremely small. It had all the essentials, but there wasn't much space to move around or unpack, so it felt a bit cramped, especially for a longer stay. If you're planning just a short visit or don't mind compact accommodations, it works, but it's definitely something to keep in mind. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made the stay smoother despite the limited room size. Overall, I'd say M Citizen is a great choice for its location and vibe, but pack light and don't expect spacious quarters.

Now, if you've read one of my reviews before, you know I'm going to order room service, and it did not disappoint. Just a heads up, valet was $60 a night.
