I recently moved back to Florida from California where I have spent over a year helping my daughter with grandkids. I rented out my condo meanwhile. Good thing was that I took most of my furniture out to a self storage. Couple that I rented a place too had a labrador... I have nothing against dogs but this beast destroyed my carpeting. Also, stove was burned and a washer was no longer working. I needed to move appliances to a donation center in Fort Lauderdale as they were quite old and I did not even want to mess with repairing it. I purchased almost a new washer on craigslist and I needed it picked up from a guy in Hollywood. I also needed to get my furniture out of storage in Sunny Isles and bring it to my place few miles near by. One of my friends advised me of this company. I have to say that it was a great suggestion. Not only movers worked on Sunday, but they also made multiple trips in a same day to get all my items removed and delivered. They also helped me to arrange everything in my condo. Problem was that elevator was too small to be used. Poor guys had to carry things up the third floor and to the South wing of my building which was at least 50 yards away. They did not have much luck with parking as well... On Sunday pretty much all guest parking was taken. They had to have one guy watching the truck not to get towed and two guys worked on moving things. Once they put everything upstairs, they parked a truck outside and all three worked on arranging the furniture. They took all the garbage out and actually helped me to remove recently replaced carpeting. They were a great help for an such an old lady as myself. I think that price I was charged was very reasonable for the amount of work done and guys deserved at least 10% tip. Thanks a bunch! read more

Ok, first off, I'll say that I was VERY wary of using a moving company as the only stories I've heard are horrible! I needed to enlist some help though and spend some money to finish a half finished move. That said, I am very pleased with Miami Movers For Less and will start off with the only negative part of my review (which is why I deducted one star): - Upon arrival, the movers advised us they were not there to pack and would not assist in this task. I asked several times and confirmed with Rey that it was part of the labor costs, and he assured me it was. It took them just a under 3 hours to complete the whole job, including unpacking and putting furniture together. Service was great and they did it in estimated timeframe of 3 hours. read more

These movers were HORRIBLE!!!After calling a few places, this company seemed to be the most affordable and available for the specific date I needed them. Unfortunately, after the actual job was done, they turned out to be the most expensive. First of all, after calling them once, it was impossible to reach them afterwards so I had to use different phones to get through. The first guy I spoke with was nice and I booked with him to have the movers move my stuff Memorial Day weekend. The young boys who arrived were late and rude. As they were wrapping the tv and cabinets with blankets, I was told the cost for the materials will increase, ok whatever. Then they told me moving my couch from the 3rd floor, despite the elevators, was going to be an additional $75; only moving it from 2nd fl and lower was free or included in already set service charge. After unpacking everything in the new place, their tape damaged the tv stand (which one of the young boys said it was because my furniture was cheap), they damaged my expensive bed frame, which was less than a year old and they tried to leave the cardboard boxes on my front lawn. The manager compensated me for the damaged tv stand and demanded those boys to return to my house to pick up the boxes left on my lawn BUT they never compensated me for the damaged bed frame. I would never use this company again. I will definitely go with My Guys Moving, recommended by my dear friend. read more

Multiple items were broken during my move. The movers likely knew my bike was broke because the wheel no longer spins and didn't even mention it. Also, the movers stopped for lunch while on the clock on the drive to the new house - so something to watch out for. The move also just took longer than it normally would. Also they are going to charge you for 10 rolls of tape @$4 per (even though all the boxes were already taped) and for putting your smaller boxes into their larger wardrobe boxes @$10 per box. I'm not sure how this is rated 4.5 stars. Maybe each crew is different. read more

My experience with Miami Movers was extremely professional, I was so impressed. They moved my very large home of 2 floors with loads of furniture of 17 years and were very careful with all my fragile items "nothing arrived to my new home broken. My daughters piano was moved, they disassembled our beds and reassembled, they took their time wrapping everything to be safe. This was mine and mine roommate's first time using a mover so we really did not what to expect. After setting up the move a few days before with Manny, I had thought things were moving smoothly especially since the quote was for $296 for three hours. (Keep in mind that I knew I would spend at least $300-$400) On the day of the move, the movers ended up being an hour later than scheduled. Once they got there things were running smoothly; however, confusion began shortly after because I was told I would be charged $4 for each roll of shipping tape (They anticipated going through 15-20 rolls that day). While I was ok with that charge, they told me that my bubblewrap that I had purchased would not work for the items that they needed to wrap and would charge me for that. Finally after accepting that we were going to be charged for extra items the smooth went off without a hitch after that. After finally finishing the move around 7pm that evening, the final bill came out and the head mover told me that I would be charged $570. The extra charges came from the shipping tape, another hour of service, and also $70 just for the use of tall boxes which kept my small boxes together. Keep in mind that I was told about every other charge but not a charge for the rental of tall boxes. I explained to the head mover that had I been told that I was being charged for tall boxes that I would've told them to leave the small boxes and the loose items alone because what sense does it make for me to get charged for something that I can just come back and take care of myself. In the end, I am now being charged for them packing stuff into tall boxes along with time that probably equated to the extra hour that I am now being charged for that could've been used to move the other stuff faster. So after all was said and done all I had left from my budget was $20 for a tip and that is where the true problem began. After telling the head mover that I was prepared to give a decent tip; however, after all of the fees that were taken out during this move the situation changed. The head mover, while nice, was not happy about what I was trying to give and was persistent on me giving more. After finally settling on the $20 they left. After my roommate came home from work, we both agreed that we were both charged more than expected and should take it up with management. We immediately wrote a letter detailing our experience to the customer service email. After not hearing anything for two weeks, I followed up with the customer service agent who explained that my email was lost and that I needed to resend it. The weird part was that the agent (Monika) didn't even want to hear the experience over the phone but proceeded to tell me that management had to review the claim and someone would be in contact. The next day, the manager called and told me he didn't know why I was claiming that I was being charged $570 ($590 with tip) as my contract states that I was charged $460. After showing me paperwork with my signature and the price that he said on the phone, I started to freak out but, after driving home and looking at my contract, the movers actually gave me a blank contract to sign. Now while part of it is on me because after a long day of moving and suffering from a fever during the move, I was over it and should've read a little more closely but, during the final payment process the head mover had written out on the paper detailing every charge adding up to $570 and that is what I signed along with the other contract. The problem now becomes not only am I being charged for extra shipping (the boxes) that I was unaware of, the movers kept more of my money as a tip and didn't tell the owners. I requested that I was returned my tip along with the extra shipping charges which I was but what is a little hard is the fact that I had a co-worker give a GLOWING review of the company two weeks before my move along with the fact the salesperson and the movers overall were great (which is why I am giving two stars instead of just one) but the situation that we finished with just was not the best outcome. I did receive a $170 refund from the owner after discussing the issue (this covered the difference between 590 and the 460 along with half of the shipping charges). read more

I did not move with this company. I put down a deposit and then had another company come to my home and inventoried my stuff. I have a crazy amount of stuff and was second guessing the hourly vs the flat rate price. I have to say that I am now second guessing my choice to drop them because Rey is just so nice and polite to deal with and the reviews on his company are so good. I chose a flat rate 1,500 dollar fee instead of Rey's estimate of 1,295,00 Rey said on the phone they will be returning my $60 deposit. Positive experience, the only thing that I did not care for is that they don't send someone out to look at and inventory your stuff for the estimate. He said I could send photos for a more precise estimate but I am overwhelmed with packing and cleaning a huge 4 bedroom house and to lazy to photo every piece of furniture and pile of boxes. read more

Fast quote and scheduled the estimate over a week in advance. Rey is so pleasant and enthusiastic about his commitment to customer service and all his wonderful reviews. He was even willing to reschedule the estimate with more than one week's notice without a problem. However, the estimator called me 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment time that because of inclement weather, he would be about an hour late and would call me when he was getting close to my home. He arrived 45 minutes after that without calling and I went outside to greet him. He waved me off saying he would be ready in a few minutes. Fair enough. 15 minutes after that I went out and he was still not ready, so I let him leave, which he did not protest at all or apologize. Clearly they are doing something right to not need my cross-country business, but they wasted 2 hours of my afternoon and couldn't care less. Move performed on 11/15/12. Price communicated, USD220, price paid more than USD350. Time for the move was slightly longer, which was acceptable... the discrepancy comes from the material they used, 10 roll of tape (let me tell you that they were not hesitating to triple, quadruple the tape use) + 5 boxes to fit my small boxes... Overall the drivers and movers were good however the price paid vs price sold is not justified especially when i followed the packing indication given by the sales person. In a few words, i might have choose someone else to do the move, someone perhaps more expensive that the price originally sold. It may have avoid some bad surprise at the end! read more

Such a bad customer service experience, my stuff was picked up on Sep-1 in Miami and it hasn't still gotten to Chicago. We understand that everything was picked one week before the hurricane and it was messy down there but we never got any updates regarding the delivery status, last week I called in several times and the customer rep who picked up the phone was always transferring the call to the area in charge knowing that there was no one working during last week. today I called to check the delivery status and the guy in charge confirmed that everything was still in Miami and that he needed to confirm the date that everything would be shipped to Chicago, I was supposed to get a call from them and I'm still waiting for it. read more

I am giving this company zero stars. Where do I start my appointment was for February 28th, 2015 at 8 o'clock in the morning and they did not get to my house until 9:50 in the morning. No one called and said that they were going to be late or anything. I was the one doing the calling. One of the drivers finally called me to say that they were going to be 30 minutes late at 9:15 AM. The driver told me over the phone "If you want your move to go as smooth as possible you have to be patient." I didn't know exactly what he meant by that. They were so rude to me. It started raining really bad. I asked one of the drivers if he had put all of my boxes in the truck he lied and said yes. I went down stairs to find one of my television on the second floor and the other one was on the first floor, unsupervised meanwhile all three guys were upstairs sitting around talking to each other for about an hour and a half. Most of my boxes got really wet in the rain. The area that I was moving from is not one of the best areas. Anyone could have walked by and take whatever. I felt like I was babysitting three grown men. So finally we got to the new place ad they were just standing around talking to each other. I said to one of them "you know that I am paying you by the hour right?" he looked at me and smile. It was time for me to pay and they tried to charge me for three and half hours when really they only worked for two hours. I said to him I am not paying you for three and a half hours but for only three hours because that is the minimum. Once they loading every into the new apartment one of them asked me for a tip. Of course I did not tip them because I felt like they did a really bad job. They were rude to me, they had poor work ethics. They scratch up all of my furniture. They just did not care about any of my properties. Save your money and go with another company. These people SUCK!!!! I will never use them again. The customer service is a joke. Please do me this favor and go with someone else. I do not want anyone to go through what I went through. read more

Worst experience of my life. The Russian movers take their precious little time in an attempt to increase the move time. A simple 2/2 which other companies take 2 1/2 hours, takes these a-@$#@ 5 hours. In addition, though explicitly told not to 'special package' any items since they were already boxed and packaged, they still do just so they can criminally bill you for boxes, supplies and packaging. A $300 move turns into $750. When you complain that you did not authorize any packaging and think $750 is preposterous, they hold your flatscreens and electronics hostage forcing you to pay a criminally assessed bill. At this point, calling law enforcement becomes your only option. When you do so, they tell you they'll offer you a discount in exchange for you signing papers promising to not leave any negative reviews about their company. You are forced to do so or they hold your electronics. Upon signing their papers and paying, they then hand over the electronics and your 4 60" smart TV's. Stay away from these movers at all cost. read more
