Went here for the first time. We got there pretty late; after 9pm. It says it closes at 9 on google maps. It closes at 10pm! We called and it's on the menu. They have $2 tacos on Wednesday and Friday nights. The menu is extensive! We ordered chips and guacamole for an appetizer. The guacamole was a little bland, but it came with some salsa and it was really tasty! I ordered a chicken taco, zucchini taco, and napole taco (cactus). They come plain on a corn tortilla (pictured). You go to the bar and put your toppings on. You can add lettuce, pico de gallo, pickled onions (they were out when we went), cilantro, onion, radishes (also out), and 6 different kinds of salsas. My son got 5 different kinds of tacos and a bottle of Coca-Cola. His friend got 3 different kinds of tacos and a bottle of Coca-Cola. We ate every bite! It was super yummy. The prices can't be beat! Altogether our bill was less than $40! It's a great hole in the wall. I'll definitely be back soon.

Oh boy, where do I start? The parking is atrocious, there's like 3 spots in front of the restaurant. There is street parking, but it's limited. Our waitress was nice, and inside it's nicely decorated. I ordered a chorizo, asada, pastor, and chicharrón con salsa verde taco and guac. The guac needed lime, the chorizo taco was good, the others lacked flavor. Just as I was leaving, I see a roach wandering around the restaurant. I was disgusted, I'm never coming back

Hands down the best Mexican spot in Miami. No frills, no fancy, overpriced nonsense, just delicious, authentic tacos & Mexican cuisine. You honestly cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. Their breakfast options are all delicious, the tacos are unmatched (my personal favorites are the barbacoa, al pastor, and chicken tacos) & everything on their lunch/dinner menus will satisfy you. Portions are perfect & servers are very nice. The epitome of the hidden gem, you will not regret stopping in here for your next taco craving.

Authentic Mexican food and reasonable prices, the service was friendly and efficient. Free parking.

Just moved to the area a few weeks ago and stumbled upon this gem! The birria tacos and burrito were absolutely delicious. The margaritas were the perfect pairing - refreshing and reasonably priced for Miami. The service was great, very friendly and attentive. It's a cute little hole-in-the-wall spot that feels like home already. It's so close (just a 10-minute walk) so we'll definitely be regulars from now on. (:

Love this authentic Mexican taqueria. The food is very fresh and spiced perfectly. I has the birria tacos and shrimp ceviche tostada, my friend had the enchiladas. This place is always packed , so be prepared to wait a bit. You can always wait at the bar and get a drink and appetizer. The servers are so friendly and helped us with choosing dishes. Weds, thurs and friday are 3$ tacos. Bring cash in case their credit card reader is down and they have an atm inside if needed. Will be back soon!

Low key very chill spot to have authentic Mexican food. Helpful and friendly. Fridays are $2 dollar tacos

My favorite Mexican in Miami! Hands down the best Mexican and with recent upgrades it's even better. It's a hole in a wall, next to a gas station with staff speaking almost no English. 90 percent of guests are Mexican, the food is no frills and reliably tasty. Must visit but bring cash, as on some days (can't figure out the system) they do not accept credit cards.

Honestly this place was a gem.. the frozen margaritas were great and the menudo is the best in Miami

Milanesa de res Torta BAD

No, don't do it! Avoid! I recently came to this place due to finding it on Yelp and it looked good. After coming here, I am sad to say Yelp let me down for once lol I ordered the milanesa de res torta and tacos. I tried ordering just one but was told it has to be 2 or 3 tacos so I got 2. The tacos come with just the tortilla and the meat, we were never told about the topping bar but saw it before we started eating. Meat wasn't great tasting. WORST MILANESA TORTA EVER. The breading was weird and not crispy or anything, meat was tough, hard to chew and had fat pieces. At the end the server decided to tell us it was CASH ONLY. Beware!!! They were no signs or anything so we were forced to use their atm and get charged a $3 fee for debit. I would skip the trip here, no impressed.

Delivery bag with a live roach
Jackie S.

We ordered takeout from this restaurant on June 5, 2022 and what do I see on the bag? A LIVE ROACH. I'm more mind blown how neither the restaurant staff nor the delivery person noticed this. That's how careless they are and gives you an idea of how filthy that restaurant must be. STAY AWAY

Parking was a bit challenging due to the limited number of spaces, but once we walked inside, the experience more than made up for it. We were warmly greeted by Carolina, who also became our server. She was incredibly patient and took her time walking us through the menu, explaining each dish and how everything is prepared. Her dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out, and we hope management recognizes what an asset she is. Carolina proudly shared that every item on the menu is made in‑house, and it absolutely shows. My wife ordered the Quesadilla de Pollo with a side of Arroz Mexicano and couldn't stop talking about the exceptional flavors. I chose the Tostada al Pastor, a small Tortilla Soup, and a side salad. Everything was delicious, but the Tortilla Soup was the star of the meal--a perfect example of why in‑house preparation matters. Since we're not from the area, we weren't sure where to go for lunch, and we truly lucked out choosing Don Maguey--and having Carolina as our server. Thank you, Carolina. We went here between January 27 & February 6/2026. La Potranca has five Florida locations, but this cantina does not feel like a chain. Authentic sabor Mexicano with an excellent friendly staff. Family friendly & handi-able accesible from the parking lot. This location gets full by 7pm but there is extended service & seating in the common covered courtyard. Plenty of parking in this strip mall location. Service is excellent, fast, & great choices of tacos & drinks. You can choose from 14 different meats/cuts for your tacos, including birria & al pastor. Bow to the taco! Also gringas, vampiros, & burritos. They have bowls (they're BIG) & brunch. p.s. try the churros with 3 dipping sauces. Drinks are extra special here. The clamato & beer cocktail is very unique. Served in a Tajin rimmed large mug, with lime & a tamarind wrapped straw. Excellante! Also a variety of margaritas served in whimsical glasses & their three house cervazas (beers) on draft. La Potranca pays homage to iconic singer & actor Vincente Fernandez "King of Ranchera". Check out the interesting connection with the staff or online. The staff here is excellent. Very helpful when navigating the menu. Very friendly. True professionals. Special shout out to Mauricio & Ralphael - you hombres make this place truly special. Mucho Gracias. We give La Potranca our highest recommendation. The service was a little bit slow, and I felt that the server got annoyed with us when we asked for a few more minutes to look over the menu. It was more the face she made, but I kept my cool. The food was great and the portions were generous. The salsas that she brought to the table were delicious. I wished I had asked whethet they sold them because I would of bought some. When we walked out to leave, I realized that they have outside sitting, but the restaurant is in a plaza, so the sitting is in the outside in the middle of the plaza.

The hardest part about dining here was deciding what I wanted to order. I could have ordered the entire menu it looked so good! Helpful tip... check out the menu and know what you're going to order before you get in line. Otherwise you're going to be pressured to order at the front of the line. When you walk in, you place your order and pay for it and take a table number. You need to find your own table. Our service was pretty quick, despite how busy the restaurant was. My cold brew was very good and a nice start to the meal. Our guacamole came next and it was nicely styled with pomegranate, cheese and cilantro on top. Yum! The real star of the show for me was this unassuming looking House Club Sandwich that was to die for. Seriously ... it was so good. I ordered mine without the ham, and it was divine! I wish i lived closer. I'm already dreaming of coming back. My son ordered some kind of short rib/beef burrito and it disappeared so quickly I didn't even get to snap a photo. This is a perfect spot to enjoy a great meal, I highly recommend it. One thing I can say is that it's on the pricey side. $113 lunch for 2 added up super fast but it was well worth it. I'll be dreaming of that sandwich til my next visit!

I ordered the mahi mahi tacos, and while they tasted ok, the portion size felt pretty small for the price. Overall, it came across as a bit overpriced for what you get. The service style is more casual and self-directed. You order and pay at the register, get a number, and then find your own seat while they bring the food out to you. Water is self-serve, and once you're done with your meal, you just head out. There's minimal interaction with staff, which might appeal to people who prefer a more low-key, independent dining experience or want a place to sit and work without being interrupted. That said, the service did not feel very friendly or welcoming. And personally, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

The music selection is fire though and I was jamming out the whole time while waiting for my food. I complimented them on the music selection and they mentioned the owner is dominican and puerto rican which explained the great music selection. I was helped out by Adrian and his service was helpful in finding what dishes to order. I took my food to go and it was piping hot, definitely made fresh to order which I enjoyed. The nachos were what I was most eager to try as they are all the rage on social media. They lived up to the hype and that nacho cheese is absolute gold. I love that it's served in a pizza box. It just makes it iconic. It travels well and everything was still hot when I got home. The Al Pastor taco was just okay, nothing to write home about but now the steak burrito was really really good. I love that they don't have rice in their burritos and instead replace it with potatoes, which is absolutely delicious. They give two different types of salsas with your order plus limes and the green salsa is unreal. Add it to everything for a flavor boost! All in all this place is fire and if you're craving nachos, this is definitely the place you should come to get your fix!

We are very disappointed that the chicken and steak burritos were not seasoned very well (bland) and both were so dry. I couldn't even taste any cheese in the chicken burrito either. I took a few bites and had to give the rest to our dogs. What a shame. My daughter couldn't finish her burrito either. I tasted her steak burrito and it didn't taste like any steak that I have ever tried. So disappointing. The guac and chips were good but they were like a little side dish. So, there went a wasted $50 for lunch. We were still hungry. Since it was a to-go order, we didn't feel like going back all that way again. It was a very hot day. Service was strange. I sat in the car but my daughter went up to the counter to pick up our order. She stood there for a long time in the hot sun and no one helped her. There was a bag sitting on the counter already. Finally when she was helped, the guy said that the bag sitting there was ours!! She was highly irritated fir the poor service. He should have checked to see if his customer was there to pick up the only bag on the counter. In retrospect, we should have tasted our burritos before driving home to taste them but we trusted them. Sorry to say, we won't be going back.
