I had the calzone which was tasty. We got food to go so nobody served us per se. I ordered soup-I usually love pasta fagiola but this one was not familiar to me. I don't even know what it was. But it was not normal pasta fagiola - it was sad. They need to get a real recipe for that. read more

Wait was not bad. You have to order well ahead if you are ordering on the weekend in the summer. If not, that's why some reviews say 2+ hour wait. There's so many people in shore towns on the weekends so you're going to wait. I had the penne vodka 5 stars. Garlic knots - 5 stars. They tomato sauce is VERY good! Only thing I was disappointed with was the Greek Salad - a lot of iceberg lettuce, white onions, 1 grape tomato, 1 cucumber, enough feta and NO olives. Meh for $9.00. Absolutely fantastic food very plain inside limited seating service is fantastic. I have been there for five times over the last couple months. We've never got a server that wasn't as pleasant as could possibly be tonight. It was Jordan what a sweet young girl nothing was a problem for her to take care of us great personality. I am shocked to see the ratings are not much higher. I have consistently gone to this place and every time they have provided five star service and high quality meals. Don't miss this place for delicious Italian lunch or dinner entrees. Everything from grilled chicken salads to chicken parmigiana to wraps or wings. This place is great. Simple concept: if you don't have the people working for you who deliver your product then Don't Offer that service. I ordered a pizza at 5pm and was told the delivery time would be around 45 to 60 minutes. After 90 minutes of waiting I called the restaurant and was told my order is out with the driver and she apologized but this is the 2nd time I have had this problem the last time I ordered the same product. We've been getting takeout from Mia's for years. Standard order is usually their eggplant parm dinner and chicken parm dinner with side salad of salad. Both are excellent as are the homemade pizza dough rolls. We consistently get 2 meals out of each entree. We will continue being regular customers. read more

I had the Margherita pizza and was really impressed! The sauce stood out. I really appreciated the option for a gluten-free crust. It's refreshing to see especially at a place down the shore. Waited nearly 3 hours for two undercooked pizzas. Online estimated 75 minutes when we ordered, but we had to call three separate times just to check the status. When I called to politely ask for an update, I was hung up on. Totally unacceptable experience from start to finish. read more

Their pizza is very food as well as the ambience. The service is pretty good. It's our go to pizza during the winter.

Big family gathering so we made a big order online for takeout. Starting with the pizzas: Mia's special pizza, basically "all in" on the meats, a regular cheese pizza and a margherita pizza. This is where Mia's shines. The crust on the pizzas is perfect. The toppings tasty and flavorful. The fresh mozz on the margherita was fantastic! Sides: antipasto salad was ok. Could have used more pepperoncini and I would have liked to see a bunch of capicola added as well. The Italian sausage was excellent, but swimming in tomato sauce. Same with the meatballs, which were a little dry. Prices were good. Service was solid except I had to wait about 10-15 mins longer than the estimated time they emailed me. We went here last week 7/5. We called in an order to pick-up, we were told 45 minutes. We arrived around 50 minutes and the line was 30 people deep. Everyone was unruly and people were trying to cut the line. There was no organization or coordination. Pure Chaos!! By the time we finally got inside to claim our order it was now 110 minutes. When they checked, our order was only 1/2 ready. We decided to cancel the pizza and Stromboli because they said it would take 20 minutes more. The rest of our order was cold because it was sitting around when we got home we decided to order from somewhere else.. Asking for my previous review to be removed. Just sat outside and waited over a half hour for a pie and fries. They totally forgot the whole order. Super disappointed. Ruined a perfect beach night due to incompetent workers! Never getting my business again! Unacceptable! Mistakes happen but forget a whole order? I do not understand the hype about this place!! They mess up every order and the timing of pick up. Either our order is getting cold or we have to wait twice the time that's given. I am a retired restaurant manager and the manager there just says we have a new hire. We'll then monitor them! Train properly! Granted some of the food is good. This is by far my favorite restaurant. The food is amazing! The pizza is very good and so is the Burger. Probably the best Burger I've ever had. The service is very good. They have one of the best waitress. I don't know her name but she is amazing and so nice. A couple weeks ago she drew turkey on our check. We go there so often that she knew our order. When I arrived there were about 30 ppl in line waiting for their orders , wow , lady coming out of the door with her order said she waited I line for 1hr finally arrived at the counter and her order was not even ready . How are you not prepared and mdw ? How are you taking orders you can't fill ? Ppl have families waiting to eat dinner and you make them wait 2 plu hours for takeout ? What you need to order: Margherita pie w/the fresh mozz! First night down at the shore so we ordered some pies from Mia's. It was a Saturday night, so they were only doing takeout (not delivery). The order only took 40 minutes which was very impressive given the time/day of the week. The Margherita pie was definitely the star - everyone loved it! The sauce is sweet, which pairs well with the creaminess of the fresh mozzarella. The crust is super crispy (the slices don't flop), and you can taste the fresh basil. If you're ordering pies from here, I definitely recommend adding this one to your order - it does not disappoint! read more

We ordered takeout for Mother's Day Eve and although I was on hold for 5 minutes and it took over an hour and 15 minutes to get to us, everything was great! Delivery driver was so apologetic, to be fair it was a monsoon outside, and she said a transformer blew down the street. It immediately wiped away any issues I thought I had. We got a Chicken Parm, Eggplant Parm, Shrimp Parm and Chicken Franchese. Everyone loved their food and I can attest that the Franchese and Chicken Parm were both very good. The breadsticks that came with were really good too. Definitely our go to pizza spot when at the shore every summer weekend. Btw, if I heard correctly, this is the ORIGINAL Mia's. The owner of Little Mia's is a former employee who stole the recipes and opened up a competing restaurant down the street trying to make people think they are affiliated. They are NOT. I would actually rate this a 2 1/2. The food was okay but I thought the prices were good. The main issue was the wait. They sat us quickly then our drink orders were taken. Waited about 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive at which time we placed our orders. We waited almost an hour before the food came out. It was almost comical when we received our food bc the meals werebrought out separately not at the same time. There was approximately a 15 minute wait between the first plate to arrive and the last (which was just a slice of pizza). As a local, all these reviews are based either on wait times and dinning in. My best experience is when I order take out, they are always fast and helping. Usually i take it out and then go sit by the bay or on the beach, it's the best! They have amazing food with my favorite being their buffalo chicken pizza, any pizza really is good and is true jersey Italian food. read more

I didn't always love this place but I recently tried it again after many years of not going. I'd say Mia's is my new favorite Mom and Pop Pizza place. The small plain pizza is my favorite. The small size is perfect for the thin crust and the fact that there's no toppings makes it perfect for reheating. I rather like to put my own fresh oregano or basil on it when I get it home, it's lovely! For reheating, just set your toaster oven to 350d for 6 minutes and its great. The french fries at this pizza place are also fabulous. Unlike some other places, they don't double fry the fries. I'm not sure of the french fry supplier but I think they are Roma (which is what Sal's Pizza in Stanhope, NJ used but then they started double frying them...) Thank you Mia's for not double frying! I don't often get fried mozzarella sticks but I did try them here on a whim and they are also really great. During the pandemic I was mainly buying frozen versions at BJs wholesale club which were pretty close to what most fast food places serve, however Mias manages to blow away most other mozzarella sticks both from BJs and other fast food places. Highly recommended. Because of the good luck I've had with Mias recently I tried the Fried Calamari. Lets just say, don't get the Calamari here... I won't deduct a star for this because everything else is so great. Lastly the home made bread sticks here.... Holy molly! They are so WONDERFUL! They're made fresh daily from pizza doe. I've never had bread sticks like this before. No other pizza place I've been to makes bread sticks like this. For a while I was really into Carmines Pizza in Netcong, NJ but after being at the shore so much this summer, its Mia's! Shame there's no Mias up in North Jersey. I'll certainly appreciate them when I'm down the shore that's for sure. Recommended!!! read more

One of my favorite quick italian spots down the shore. Everything is amazing and reasonably priced. The seafood pasta dishes are delicious as well as the pizzas. Very busy, be sure to order ahead but besides that I haven't had a complaint yet. read more
