Maruca's is one of the most unique pizza places in New Jersey. They are definitely a stand-out on the Seaside Boardwalk. Although they may just look like a normal pizza stand from the boardwalk, they are in fact substantial. They used to be located farther south on the boardwalk until the fire, but later relocated. Before that, they used to have a Trenton location. Their pizza still has that "old Trenton" flair. Their cheese has a more pungent taste to it, and the rumor is that they mix mozzarella with cheddar. The crest has a brick oven texture. The sauce is applied in a swirl, and it is redder than most other ones. I prefer plain actually without any toppings, although I usually get something on my pizza, because Maruca's stands on its own with just the crust, cheese, and sauce. read more

The crust was a little too charred for my liking and it was also a lot tougher than I normally like as well. My favorite pizza place on the Seaside Heights. Boardwalk is Maruca's. There thin crusted pizza, makes the sauce and mozzarella more flavorful. The size of the slice is humongous and I prefer the pepperoni pizza. My daughter loves their chicken and ranch topping. I tasted it but didn't like that one. I'll stick to my pepperoni because I love when I'm eating the slice. The oil that was poured on top of the pizza to enhance the flavor comes dripping down onto the plate.
