I have been a very loyal customer of Mica beauty since 2016, and since my most recent unfortunate interaction, I am done patroning this business. I will be giving my money to Amazon or any other business that can actually stand by the products they sell and offer customer service to back it up this past Saturday I purchased a large bag of hard wax after being pushed to make this purchase by the owners themselves. They assured me that the product was good and offered a good price so I left the store confident and happy as I had many times prior unfortunately, when I got home that evening, I realized that the wax was incredibly inferior. It did not melt down properly. It was grainy And had all the indications of being an inferior and old product. it should be noted that this product was sold to me as final sale. The owners did not provide a reason for final sale but now I know it's likely because the product is inferior and the owner is aware of this and is selling it anyways to recoup their cost I called this morning disgruntled and wanting some sort of accommodation. This wax flaked off my skin and irritated it so severely that bumps formed in minutes. When I called to express my distain, the owners took no responsibility and only offered an exchange which would require me to drive an hour round-trip. I asked the owner if there was anything they could do to further accommodate this incredible inconvenience as this was a product meant to be used Saturday evening, but due to it Unstable nature, I could not Sunday they are closed and Monday I worked during their open hours. The owner argued with me and laughed at my audacity to ask for additional compensation for this inconvenience. I asked if my business was not important to them and mentioned that they would be losing my business. They did not seem to care very much. I'm a huge purveyor of supporting small and local businesses, but not when it feels like my money and patronage are not being valued. As much as I hate Amazon, I would have never had to deal with such inconvenience and poor customer service and lack of accountability from that company so it seems the business I have given Mike a beauty for nine years will now be transferred over to Amazon or Bobo's beauty supply in Montclair, which has consistently offered top-tier customer service, Selection, quality, care, fair pricing and so much more. Good riddance to Mica. I appreciate them but this experience left an awful taste. read more

As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a friendly face and there is a gentleman that sits in the back that is a secret honda helper! He showed me the organization of alll the nail tips, they have a display board to show you the sizes and feel of the nail material. Prices... made me so happy!!! Reasonable and worth the purchase. Don't shop here. The products are old. Went to buy nail forms. I bought a role of 500. They were stained and wouldn't stick. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and figure there's 500 so sine may be defective. But I couldn't get through a whole set without all of them coming apart. So frustrating. So I went back to try to exchange for a new role. They wouldn't because they said I used too many and they can't sell what I returned. I tried to tell them that they should not resell defective products that customers return and that's when they really started getting mad at me. Both the man and woman told me there's nothing they could do because I didn't come back right away. I told them I was there less than a week ago. I was more bothered that they wanted to put it back on the shelf for the next poor soul if I only used a few. They just cut me off the both of them together and refused to listen. I told them I'd never return and they said good. Their prices are just as comparable to amazon. I would just rather buy there or go out to Orange County. Don't buy the monomer with a label that says purple liquid. It's a MMA monomer. When I poured it I got a strange smell. I used it to but acrylic on a practice finger and soaked it in acetone to test it. The acrylic became sticky and I couldn't even scrape it off. I also tried two gel polishes from them & one of the polishes was not good. I noticed that it made other colors spread out. I'm giving them 3 stars because they have other products that such as towels,nail files, etc that I think are ok to buy from this place. read more

Their website has some info on prices, and it's really cheap. Like, paraffin wax for $3 a pound? (at least on the website, it may or may not have gone up since because of the ongoing inflation). That's usually $13 on amazon unless you buy in bulk. If I had known they sold that I woulda gone here to support my local businesses more. I imagine if I had an issue with something, I would call them immediately to let them know. These prices are pretty cheap though, so it'd feel like trying to get a return at a dollar store, but to each their own. I understand if this place has a poor return policy, it's a small ma and pa shop, run by a Vietnamese couple, not a Target where you don't even need a receipt/proof of purchase half the time. If you're a new customer, maybe just buy small things, or things one at a time, that way you can test out the quality for yourself and see if it gels with you. read more
