    a menu on a window

This place is so good. It's a dine out only set up and you order through a window. After looking through my options, I selected a small combo of cotton candy and grape, and it was delicious. My BF ordered coconut ice cream with peanut butter sauce and whipped cream. Due to allergies, I didn't try his, but it looked delicious. For both, it came to $6.50, not bad at all. At the time we came, on a beautiful Saturday evening in the summer, there was a bit of a line but the staff moved quickly to keep up with the crowd. While maybe not in the best area of Bridgeport, they do have dedicated parking in the lot next door. How have I not been here in all of these years? I feel like I missed out!

Small American Beauty: Bubblegum Italian ice and vanilla soft serve

We found this place through the CT Ice Cream Tour Instagram account. This is one of our favorite stops so far. I had an American Beauty with bubblegum Italian ice and vanilla soft serve. The soft serve was better than Carvel and the Italian ice had a fantastic texture, and the bubblegum flavor was just right. Not too sweet and overpowering, but not too subtle. Ordering during COVID is a breeze. Note: this business is cash only. Come prepared and enjoy! You'll be in for a real treat!

Good Italian ice. Great memories of coming here when I was a kid. Happy to have my own kids stop by for a delicious treat.

We were greeted with quick, friendly service. My daughter was thrilled with her waffle bowl (though to be fair, she's pretty easy to please when sugar is involved). I didn't want to look at the menu, so I stuck with a classic vanilla on a sugar cone simple and generously scooped. The prices are super reasonable, and they even have a little enclosed patio to enjoy your treat if you want to linger. Truth be told, I don't care for ice cream much, but seeing my kid so happy made the stop totally worth it. She gives it two thumbs up and that's all that really matters!

Although there was a line, it also moved quickly! From traditional scoops, to loaded banana splits, milkshakes and even nostalgic ice cream truck favorites I was impressed with the wide selection offered. The outdoor seating made for a vibrant and fun experience for an ice cream shop and we could tell there were many regulars in the crowd. We all enjoyed our cones and it's awesome to know this great spot is on the area.

Re: other reviewer who lived in Black Rock but didn't know it existed and thought it was unclean. First of all, what bots don't notice their surroundings? Sadly, a lot of people these days which kinda makes me moderately ok with the control system. If you're a fool, control is a positive thing. Secondly, yes, Timothy's is funky and old and mismatched and whatever. Who cares?! Dumb Milkcraft is sparkling clean and that's not a place I'm likely to return to ever again. You go to Timothy's for good old fashioned ice cream - not the pristine surroundings - and I personally appreciate the funky. The reviewer best not go to several Black Rock food places that have felines roaming inside (adding to their funky charm). :-). Oh my!

If customer service has truly gone off a cliff, this visit was the proof. I walked in for a simple cup of frozen yogurt, something I've done countless times. The young woman behind the counter didn't ask if I wanted a lid (as I'm always asked), and instead overfilled the cup. When I politely said I wanted a lid, she scraped off the top like it was garbage. That may seem small to some, but presentation matters. I'm not an animal, and I don't expect to be served like one. When I pointed out that this wasn't how it should be done, she snapped back with, "Well how do you think I'm going to close it?"--then followed up with, "If you don't like it, come back here and make it yourself." Excuse me? That's not just rude, it's hostile. I asked the other employee to make a new one, and the same young woman kept up the nasty attitude, saying "I don't care, it's not mine either." The second employee did apologize, and I appreciated that. But when I said I'd be calling the owner, I was told he's on vacation. Is that why the staff feels free to treat customers with such disrespect? Zack's used to be a place where service matched the sweetness of the yogurt. Now, it feels like the values that built this business have melted away. I sincerely hope the owner reads this and takes action--because this kind of behavior is unacceptable, and longtime customers like me deserve better.
