And I didn't know it was possible to not feel any pain or soreness for a filling--not even during the injection or any part of the treatment. He was that gentle. Dr. Baker was recommended to us by our orthodontist 3 years ago. Yes, this is backwards, but we grew tired of our previous dentists who tried to up-sell us at each visit. Since we appreciate our orthodontist, we asked him for a recommendation. I don't know anyone who jumps up and down excited that it is time to go to the dentist. Certainly I do not. But if I have to go, I am thrilled that it is to Dr. Baker. After going to a couple of places who tried to upsell me - I know that sounds crazy right? Like I get a waiter upselling, but a dentist? Yep, one insisted I needed a new crown and super expensive procedure because the tip of an instrument broke off when it was put in - 15 years prior. It had never bothered me. Happily the second opinion agreed, there was no reason to go through all of that pain and expense. 5 years later, it is still fine. Dr. Baker is friendly - but cuts to the chase. Tells you like it is. You feel like you can trust him to tell you the good and the bad. His staff is professional, friendly, and super loyal to him. Let me start this off by saying this, I HATE going to the dentist. That, along with plane crashes, are my 2 major phobias. I craftily avoided going to the dentist by intercepting the scheduling reminder phone calls and canceling appointments, for nearly 6 straight years throughout high school and college. That deviance, combined with my awesome Irish genetics, resulted in some major dental work when I was finally caught by my furious mom and dragged back into my old dentist's chair, who is back in RI (and shall remain nameless). So, suffice to say, I'm a high maintenance dental patient (bleeding gums, sensitive teeth, a million cavities, TMJ, enough root canals to practically start counting on a second hand, you name it). My husband, who is aware of my issues, found Dr. Baker and I'm so glad he did. I love this office! The staff is super friendly and remember who you are and greet you by name when you walk through the door. Dr. Baker, himself, is awesome. I've had him do root canals and fillings and as horrible as those procedures are, they seem just a bit easier with him. He's very laid back, has a great sense of humor, and is super empathetic to my neurotic anxieties. For a while, I had some issues with one of the hygienists (she hurt!) but I just went to Tiffany for a cleaning today (much gentler) and now this office gets the full 5 stars. By the way, for those of you with kiddies, he seems to have a real knack with them, as well. His office is even going to donate to my Team in Training fund raising effort, which I thought was really indicative of their charitable spirit. read more

A business that will tell you you don't need to get a service done because it's unnecessary is one to keep, I now have a mechanic and a dentist that do just that. For years I had been told one day my wisdom teeth would have to come out. Oh yeah? Well Dr. Baker without hesitation told me not a chance, there in and they're there to stay. I'm sticking with this guy. His chair-side manor is fantastic, he's always in a great mood and he explains everything with great patience and understanding. And no one gives a Novocaine shot like this guy, it's like it's not even happening. His hygienists are also fantastic as are his administrators, all very friendly and professional. I had a tremendous phobia of dentists due to an absolutely awful orthodontic experience in my teens. It had been over 10 years since I visited a dentist and I ended up with an abscessed tooth. Two coworkers had recommended Dr. Baker so I called and scheduled an appointment. He and his staff were absolutely amazing. They listened to my fears and sympathized. Then they promised to do everything in their power to turn that experience around. They explain procedures before and as they're being done. I felt absolutely no judgement or shame from them about the much needed dental work I had ahead of me. Dr. Baker's sense of humor is great and he really goes out of his way to put me at ease. It's safe to say that most people don't like the dentist. Some people even feel pure dread upon their upcoming appointment. Well, I don't really care for my teeth getting scraped on either, but with Dr. Baker's office, I even look forward to it a little. Ok so I've been to Dr. Baker three times now. Once for myself for a cleaning and checkup and twice for my daughter for check up and a filling. We are still relatively new patients but I must say I really enjoy his calming demeanor and how frank he is in explaining exactly what needs to be done with your teeth. Honestly I've always been nervous about going to the dentist but he and his staff really made me feel at ease. My daughter said he was pretty gentle with the novicaine shots and when he worked on her tooth. So, overall we are very happy new patients. It's a nice small office, nothing overly fancy but very clean. Staff is very pleasant to patients and each other. I will be back with the rest of my family for sure. read more

Awesome doctor and staff! Before I found him, I went to a large dental practice who told me that I had several cavities and needed fillings. Good thing they took to long to prep me so I walked out. After that my coworker recommended Dr Baker and he did not find any cavities. He's very honest and great bedside manners. Dr. Baker and his staff are so great that I actually look forward to going to the dentist. They are very welcoming, right away you feel like you are going to be taken care of, and then they follow through, so they do take care of you. I have referred several people to Dr. Baker and they all are happy with him and his employees. They agree that he is awesome at what he does but he also makes the whole experience good by keeping you informed, making you feel comfortable and doing a lot of preventative work so do run into problems later. Having experienced both high and poor quality dentistry in my lifetime, I am confident to say that Dr. Baker and his staff are wonderful. Tina his office manager is helpful and friendly. Lily, his assistant is wonderful. Dr. Baker takes a novel approach (at least by current trend): He will assess you and suggest what you need, what you might want to consider in the near future and rank items in terms of importance. He doesn't pressure you, he doesn't seem to have the 'drill 'em, fill 'em, bill 'em' mentality. Plus, he's just a nice man. If you need a good dentist with affordable rates that accepts (some?) insurances, this is a great place. If you also would like to be seen by a staff dedicated to keeping your business by being friendly and working within your needs, this is the dental office for you. Parking can be interesting at peak hours as they are in a small strip center. They close from noon to 1PM for lunch (it's nice to see a medical/dental office respect it's employees enough to give them a proper lunch hour) and I believe they are open only Monday through Thursday. I've been a patient of Dr. Baker for 10 years, and now my whole family sees him. He's the best dentist I've ever had. One thing I really like is that he doesn't harass me about my teeth. Previous dentists would always criticize me for not flossing enough or whatever. If my teeth were perfect, I wouldn't need to see a dentist! I go every six months because, no matter how hard I try, there's always some plaque or something that needs to be cleaned off. Dr. Baker happily cleans my teeth and sends me on my way, and with a goodie bag. I also trust Dr. Baker to know what he's talking about and not recommend a procedure I don't need.
