This place went downhill fast over the last year or so. My last visit they said I had cavaties and were ready to treat at my next visit. The whole experience from front desk to hygenist/dentist left a bad taste in my mouth, lol, so I went somewhere new, and turns out, I have no new cavaties! The front desk is one of the least professional that I have encountered. They would move appointment times without notice and just assume we could make the new times...even months later, I called to cancel my appointment and Sophia just hung up on me. I honestly don't even know if my appointment was canceled or not. The last hygienist straight up accused me of lying about flossing 3 times in the chair, and then corrected themselves after doing the gums check. I have never been more uncomfortable with a hygienist. That same person days later with a family member, had to leave work while the patient was mid-cleaning... McNeil and the tenured hygienists were the only redeeming quality but they are all gone. Brandon Hall would spend only minutes reviewing my teeth and seemed more concerned about efficiency to spend anytime actually talking with the patients. read more

Stay away from here. Unprofessional and arrogant. Is preoccupied by other things while having an examination. Wants money up front to secure an appointment. (Say what?) I had him do mini implants on me and the whole experience was a nightmare. If you ask a question, you'll get an incomplete answer or a down right lie. This place is very shady. Doesn't follow procedures. Personally, I think he creates situations to extract more money from you. Example: when one of the implants came out after only a couple of months, he wanted to charge me $1700 to fix. I asked about the warranty that I discussed with him prior to any work being done and he said that's only for the prosthetic denture. He's lied to my face on a number of occasions. I actually had 4 of the implants come out and I asked him why this was happening. He told me because I have bacteria in my mouth. Anybody that knows anything about nothing knows that EVERYBODY has bacteria in their mouth. My denture actually broke in half and he refused to help me. Also, the employee turnover rate says alot. I had 4 cleanings in one year and each time was a different hygienist. He doesn't employ 4 hygienist. This is an office that should be shut down. read more

The worst. I had a crown put on and there is nothing worst then sitting there with a dental assistant hoping they don't mess your teeth up while they play dentist . I literally had her drop my temporary crown on the floor. This same crown lasted 3-4 hours. Then rise and shine to get it plastered solid the next day. No Dr. Hall in sight. Not to mention they give zero discharge planning and you are lucky if Dr. Hall gives any instructions or information. Oh! Cherry on top they up sell and over charge. read more

I have always had really terrific experiences at Aspire!!! Being completely satisfied, I never thought to go online and write a review, but when I happened upon their yelp page, I was completely bowled over by the incongruity between my experiences with Dr. Hall and some of the vicious and obviously hyperbolic reviews I read here. And no, I've never heard anything from them about getting a fancy toothbrush for a yelp review, although I probably wouldn't blame them for asking busy-yet-satisfied people like me to take their precious time to come here and review considering the extremity of the character assassination that has gone on. ***Why I Love Aspire Dental*** I'm particularly satisfied with Dr. Hall because he never pressures me to have services done that I don't want or need. I don't have any dental insurance and I have amazingly good teeth (never had a cavity), and so I don't like paying for unnecessary services and having a lot of x-rays. I know it's silly, but I'm particularly turned off by x-rays because of a thyroid condition I have and the fact that my mom recently died of cancer. Dr. Hall and his entire staff have been very understanding and accommodating and only require me to have the minimum required by regulations and they make sure I have a full lead smock with a thyroid collar. I take both of my children to Dr. Hall choosing him over pediatric dentists. They feel very at ease with him and they feel like everyone in the office notices them and is excited to see them. We've been to pediatric dentist offices in the past and found the kids are mostly shuttled to video games, movie stations, and the like instead of being doted on by staff. The staff talk to the kids, something they love and appreciate. We've had experiences elsewhere in which the dentist and staff only addressed me the entire time and the kids were treated like plants in the corner and so they super appreciate how they are treated not only like actual people but like VIPs by everyone at Aspire Dental, especially Dr. Hall. read more

Dr Hall sent out a broadcast email asking for Yelp reviews and offering a fancy toothbrush for the effort. I have been considering writing this review for a while and that prompted me to do it, to share the other side of what will surely be a wave of satisfied reviewers - though I don't think I'll get the toothbrush. I have been going to Dr Hall since shortly after he opened - I guess 2005-ish. He is a nice guy. He has an exceptionally competent demeanor so I had high hopes, but I've been displeased on several occasions. * One of his root canals got an abscess and I had to get a specialist to fix it. The specialist says "That happens, not an indication of a bad dentist." I am less charitable-minded. * Another time I got a cap and the whole procedure was done by a dental assistant (but I was charged full dentist-work prices). He did check it at the end, but it wasn't done well and fell off in two days. * Two weeks ago I had two fillings done. One was them was only half filled. My mouth was numb so I didn't know it until the afternoon, but his assistant knew it. She said "If you have any problems, especially with the one in the back, come back and we'll fix it." And yet in the same process, he somehow deposited a bunch of filling material in another tooth that he wasn't working on and it set. Now it's round on the top. Weird, huh? He didn't fill the big hole he was working on and yet dumped a bunch of superfluous filling in one that he wasn't? * One reviewer was complaining about superfluous procedures and bills. I did see something like that once, but it was a fairly minor issue and I don't remember the details. Mistakes happen. On the whole they've been honest with me. And that's worth a lot. I quit the dentist before Dr Hall after one exam - I loved his cool in-mouth camera (wow!), but he reeked of shadiness. I didn't mind all the dental hotties. As long as they did just the dental exam and cleanings, they did just fine and they were generally pleasant. But I'm surprised at how quickly they leave - the same girls were rarely there twice in a row - turnover must be very high. I don't know why. I like and recommend his co-dentist Dr Kathleen McNeil. She's always done very nice work and I thought I had switched to her four years ago. But this last time she did the exam, he did the drilling and I was not happy with the results. I guess it's time to switch dental offices. As always with Yelp - your mileage may vary. One of these reviews was from a guy that specifically requested Dr Hall. I like Dr Hall, personally. I hesitated for years to write this and to switch dentists. I wish him good luck, but I am going to try a different dental office. read more

I'm so sad that Aspire is run by an Aggie dentist. My whole family used to go here *because* Dr. Hall is an Aggie. Guess there's a rotten apple in every basket. I drove here once from College Station for a bi-annual cleaning appointment, and absolutely, 100% did not get my teeth cleaned. The people who work here initially seemed decent enough, but something about them was just off. Turns out that that off-ness is called dishonesty. What happened when I was there: chitchat/babble, x-rays, gum probing, chitchat/babble. Both hygienist and dentist insisted that I make another appointment for a very expensive deep cleaning, and sent me on my way. Not a lick (a-ha get it? lick. it's mouth related, ok?) of cleaning was done, and they did not care that I drove 2 hours for the damn appointment. What happened after I left: insurance was billed for x-rays and insurance was billed for cleaning. Well, I was a busy (and dumb) college kid when this happened, so I didn't bother fighting it at the time. Looking back, however, this whole experience was booty (as fellow Yelper, Rene H., would say). I later found out from my parents and insurance company that I can only have full x-rays done once every couple of years, and dentists make a lot of money off of them. Plus, I couldn't even go to another dentist at the time for a cleaning, because Aspire already claimed my cleaning for that 6 month span. To add fuel to the fire, I also found out that they told my parents what horrible teeth/gums they had and scared them both into getting the very painful, very expensive deep cleanings. After the unnecessary, excruciating experience (Dad told me how awful it was and that I was lucky I blew them off), my parents said, "Never again." Hear that? Never. Again. We now go to Dr. Timothy Wellik on Medical Parkway; we all like him a lot. And guess what? He happily cleans our teeth and doesn't pressure us into random shi-doodoo that we don't need. read more

I've been going to Dr. Hall for over 7 years and can't believe he doesn't have only 5 stars as ratings. If you have been to any other dentist, you know the difference between one who knows what they are doing, and one who does not. His staff is knowledgeable, they don't "slip" and make a mistake in your mouth, and they are supportive. They have worked with me when I needed a payment plan. Don't go to a "cheaper" dentist or a chain. This is a doctor, and an office, you can trust with your one and only set of teeth. I drive from Dallas to Austin to see them. When I've tried to find one in Dallas I like, I sadly wish I'd just waited until I could see Dr. Hall. read more

I've decided to bail out on Aspire Dental. They just don't have their act together. I could have been at the clinic when Liz K was there...seriously, I've heard both the dentists at Aspire ask questions of their customers that they should know for themselves (see comment #2 from my previous review on Aspire)...I've heard them ask things like: do you want another shot (even if it could make you blind)? SCARY!!! I am glad that I never needed serious work from Aspire. Have an appointment setup with a dentist with all 5-star Yelp ratings and I am looking forward to establishing myself with a serious dentist. Love this dental office. They are awesome! They do not try to sell you things everytime you walk in, which is so nice. They make suggestions of what may help you, but if you tell them you're not interested they leave it at that - which I appreciate because I left my last dentist because they wanted to hard sell me on things. I am fairly new to Aspire Dental and I am already amazed by their professionalism and great customer service. All the staff is super friendly and they make you feel like you have been seeing them for years. I absolutely love their reminder calls, text and e-mails. The front desk is great and knows their jobs well. The manager there is very sweet and gets things done fast. I have been going to Aspire Dental for about 7 years now. Their service is excellent. The reason for my writing this review though, has to do with my decision earlier this year, to try another dentist. This other dentist is much closer to downtown, where I live, although I still work up north near Aspire. They were offering a promo in the mail for free teeth whitening and I was a sucker and went for it. Sure, the other dentist was OK, and yes, I got a free teeth whitening, but it didn't last, and I don't think my teeth got cleaned as well as usual. But even more disappointingly, I found that on both occasions, this other dentist office seemed to be constantly selling me something. Like hard sell. For that reason, I don't trust them, and am sorry for my temporary lapse in loyalty to Aspire, who never treated me that way. On a related note -- my boyfriend recently had some wisdom teeth come in, accompanied by a painful infection. Aspire took care of him immediately and he is now a customer of theirs, too. I find Aspire's staff to be very professional and they all seem to do their jobs well. They're not trying to be a hip, uber-posh dental spa sort of place with tons of flashy gimmicks and salespitches. It's simply a pleasant environment as far as dentist offices go, and they're very modern / up-to-date with their equipment and practices. I highly recommend Aspire Dental and will be returning to them for my next routine (or non-routine / hopefully not) appointment. read more

What a great experience!!!! They were so quick to get my insurance handled and book my consultation. I was hoping for a cleaning, but they couldnt get me in that day which was understanding. But ALAS! They got me in the next day and booked me for everything. Was welcomed by a super friendly staff which made everything feel great. I have been seeing Dr. Hall for the past three years and have been quite happy with his care, his staff, and everything. He is professional, has my interests in mind when I visit him, and makes me (a coward with dentists) feel quite comfortable in his office. His staff is friendly and responsive. I'm writing this express my gratitude to having Dr. Hall. as my dentist within the past year. Coming from a Castle Dental in Lakeline, I wish I could say I had only one dentist. The clinic had around 4-5 different dentist for the year I was there. I grew tired of it, came to Aspire Dental mainly because it was on the way to work. He was straight forward, he was attentive. There was a couple of times where he mentioned I may need deep cleaning, or an Implant. (I was horrible teeth caretaker at the time. Too much partying and passing out with out brushing.) But he didn't give me tone over how embarrassing my teeth were. His actual tone was more on the lines, you're here now, let's just get 'em fixed. I have a lock jaw issue, most dentist tend to be forceful in helping when it does lock. He helped when I asked him, and gave me my space when I needed it since I usually tend to stress very heavily when it does. It's a really uncomfortable feeling, but I think this is what sold me the most to this practice, how he approached this situation in which I hate the most. [Sure a bite block was used, but I'm sure I improperly placed it.] After changing my habits, I didn't need the cleaning, and spared a tooth from getting replaced with an implant. I have a crown on instead. I can not express Dr. Hall's patience with getting all these things down while I was in that chair, and be able to tackle all of this over 3 months. He has a few trainees under him, all friendly there willing to help. A welcoming hygienist. And Great staff rdy to help. I have a lot of patience, so note maybe there was a few errors they made which I didn't notice, but for the most part they handled alot of my issues really well. Aspire Dental in Austin, Texas. I went there for a second opinion on some Dental work I had been getting done at another Mini Dental Implant Clinic. First I met a very nice lady at Aspire Dental's front Desk. She had me fill out some paper work that took no more than 10 minutes. Then a dental hygienist a lovely blonde female about 36 years old led me to a room where I met Dr. Hall. Dr. Hall could not have been any nicer. He is 49 years old and is the most polite and helpful dentist that I have ever met. The first thing they did was take a X-Ray of my mouth. Then they sat me in a dental chair and put the X-Ray on a bright screen so I could see every detail of the X-Ray. Dr. Hall went over every inch of the X-Ray pointing out every little detail. That is why I had gone to him because I had been going to another Mini Dental Inplant clinic for over 2 years and they have taken over 6 X-Rays in the past two years and not once have they showed me a X-Ray. When Dr. Hall went over the X-Ray I told him what the other place had been telling me and Dr. Hall looked surprised and told me what was really going on in my mouth. The other place had been lying to me about how much bone I had on my upper & lower arches. Dr. Hall showed me that I had plenty of bone to install as many implants as I needed. My only regret is that I had not seen Aspire Dental's TV ad first. Dr. Hall and his staff is as good as it gets for Mini Dental Implants. The place that I have been going to for over two years now just takes all of your money upfront and then lies to you constantly and drags out the procedure for years when in the beginning you think this will take no more than one month. Dr. Hall is the opposite of that kind of dentist. Dr. Hall is 100% honest and he will give you the best Mini Dental Implants that they make in the United States and he will do it in a timely manner. I myself will be going back to him for all upcoming dental work and I recommend if you are in any way looking for Dental Implants are any other dental work do yourself a favor and call Aspire Dental in Austin, Texas and ask for an appointment with Dr. Hall. Maybe I am at the wrong dentist, but I have not had any of the horrid experiences that other folks seem to be having. I always seem to get in and out quickly and seem to be satisfied with the service. I do miss Paula, a hygienist that disappeared a few years back, but the new hygienist(s) seem to be do a good job. They just aren't as chitchatty as Paula and don't talk as much about preventative care. Also, Dr. Hall has added a couple of dentists to his practice. I do have to specially request Dr. Hall otherwise they will give me whoever is free that day and I like to keep it very consistent. However, the staff never makes a big deal about it. I have not been taking my teeth seriously for way too long. I'm sure there's some fear there but trust and money have also been issues.I found aspire dental because I needed a crown and I Price checked them because my old dentist wanted way too much money for a crown. Not only did he give me what I thought was a fair and reasonable price for a crown he also worked with me on fixing the major issues with my teeth before doing any other cleanings or procedures. That was important to me because I always feel like other dentists are trying to upsell me on other things while I'm there. I know that is part of their business practices but it has always put me off. Two crowns and four major cavities later I feel I can say I have found the dentist for me. All the prices I was quoted were reasonable and made sense to me. I can be pretty cheap sometimes too. Dr. Hall is personable without the god complex that a lot of dentists have.This is not an office with leather chairs and fancy granite countertops. I appreciate that because that's not how I roll. I'm a comfy couch low-key kind a guy. I don't want to pay for that stuff anyways. I don't care how fancy your office looks I care about the quality of your dentistry. I also like the fact that when I walk in I'm recognized. The girls upfront or super friendly and they remember me. I am greeted by name when I walk through the door. The office manager gave me a free sonic toothbrush the last time I was there because I had to wait a little bit. She didn't have to do that and I just thought that was really cool. The dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth took her time and made my teeth look pretty. No mean feat. If you're looking for someone to be your dentist and take care of your teeth, not try to get all the money out of your pocket and upsell you on unnecessary procedures I think aspire dental is the place. I am certainly going to call dr. Hall my dentist from now on. read more

The girls at the front desk were the best and my hygienist was awesome. They took their time with me which isn't easy being on oxygen all the time and moving slow. I would recommend them to everyone. New to the Austin area, I chose Aspire because it was near my house, took my dental insurance, and looked like a nice office. I had been there for two routine cleanings, and everything was fine. Then, I was told on my third visit that I needed a "preventative filling" for a small cavity. When I came in for this appointment, it was my first time to see the dentist, Dr. McNeil, and not a hygienist. Everything started ok- Dr. McNeil gave me a shot to numb the area, and after about 10 minutes her assistant asked if I was feeling numb, if my lip felt "fat" like it's supposed to, etc. I could still feel touch to my lip and cheek on the side they were going to work on, so I let them know and the dentist came back and gave me a second shot. After another 15-20 minutes, the assistant asked if I was numb. I could still feel everything in the same way, so I let them know and they said, "that's weird." At this point, Dr. McNeil asked me, "What do you think? Do you want another shot or to wait longer?" and I'm sitting there getting worried thinking, "You're the dentist! The medical professional! How on Earth am I supposed to know if it's safe or if I need another shot?!" I had never once had trouble getting numb for any dental procedures in the past. So, she gave me a 3rd shot and we waited. The assistant and the dentist began discussing that their next appointment was waiting and that they needed the room in front of me. After 3 shots of anesthetic, my entire face finally became numb. My eye was even drooping, which scared me. When I mentioned this, the dentist said sometimes that happens and then, again speaking to the assistant but in front of me, said that a dentist friend of hers and recently temporarily blinded a patient with anesthetic. WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT IN FRONT OF A PATIENT YOU'VE JUST GIVEN THREE SHOTS TO?! She began to drill the tooth that need the filling and I COULD FEEL HER DRILLING! She gave me a FOURTH shot directly into my gums and alas... even after waiting longer, I COULD STILL FEEL IT. She must have been entirely missing the correct nerve. I decided to bare through it and she was able to complete the filling. Days later I could barely bite down on that side of my mouth after this "small, preventative filling." I had to see another dentist, because I was NOT going back to Aspire, and he said that Dr. McNeil should have done a different type of filling and did not reshape that area of my tooth correctly. I had pain for a week till I could get to the dentist. When I made the appoint they originally scheduled for me to have an exam and a cleaning. I thought that was weird since I was IN PAIN! When they called I said I was IN PAIN and didn't want a cleaning! Can't believe they really thought a cleaning was in order on a painful tooth. So I go in on Tuesday for x rays and assessment. Root canal it is. I had a root canal here on a Wednesday and while the procedure itself was not painful when the numbness wore off I was in pain. I called Thursday to tell them I was in pain. They said it was normal. I told them I would call Friday if I was still in pain and I would come in. Sure enough I was still in pain on Friday. I called and got an appointment. Fifteen minutes later the office called my wife's phone (because they can't seem to get which phone to call) and she was told that Dr Hall would not see me because the pain is normal. I have had many root canals in my lifetime and never have I had pain afterward. I'm done with this dentist. Apparently, Dr. Hall cares little about his patients or his ratings. read more

I had my teeth cleaned every 6 months over the course of a couple of years at Aspire mainly because it is so convenient to my house. I went in about a year ago for a routine cleaning and was told I had 5 cavities. I had never in my entire life spanning over three decades had a cavity, so imagine my shock to hear I had 5. At once! After hearing the estimate for the fillings (it was something like $800 and that just so wasn't an option on my income), I was told that 3 needed to be done immediately but the other 2 could wait. In retrospect, I should have taken that as a warning sign that this was not legit, but responsibly I immediately had three fillings. I was in pain for about 5 months. I couldn't chew on one side of my months for easily 4-5 months. Now I've never had a filling before, so I have no comparison, but I can't imagine that that is standard procedure. I did go back a few times to have the filling adjusted or whatever you want to call it because I was having so much discomfort. I also returned for another cleaning 6 months later because I hadn't gotten around to finding a new dentist. 6 months later, I, of course, was told I had 2 cavities that needed filling. I asked if it could wait and was told yes. Again, really? They're quick to charge $450+ for a couple of fillings but when push comes to shove, I don't *really* need it. So questionable! As convenient of a location it is for me, surely there is a better, more trustworthy practice out there. read more

I went there for a cleaning because they offered a uninsured discount. However, when I got my service they spent most of the time trying to upsell me into whitening, braces, and coming every 4 months instead of 6 because "insurance companies say 6 but since you don't have insurance you can come more often." They had people training and practiced a new cleaning tool on me, which I initially thought was fine, but when the "training" became two people talking about the weekend, office gossip and personal topics while cleaning my teeth I was annoyed. I got my discount and left. When I called back to make an appointment the lady was very rude and confused because she "didn't know me. She claimed they were booked for over a month out and hung up on me, but it seems that she just did this to get me to not return. The can have their way, and me and my fiance will find another dentist in the area. The "discount" is not worth the unprofessional, rude, and over zealous sales attitude of the office. read more

I have not had the same issues as some of these yelp reviews. I have never seen Dr. Hall so maybe that is why. I have been going to this dentist for the last couple of years. My husband urges me to switch dentists as he has been going here for at least four years. I get my teeth cleaned quarterly so I am here quite often. The front desk staff is very nice and pleasant. They always remember who I am as well. One of the favorite things I like is that the hygienist or doctor is always on time. I never have to wait more than a couple of minutes before I am called back. The hygienist has always been great and the deep cleaning i got last year has helped my gums tremendously. I have also seen the doctor several times for fillings and the experience has been fine. If you are nervous about any type of fillings and Novocaine they do offer using gas for relaxing. My husband has gotten the gas a couple of times and he said it was worth it. I stumbled upon Aspire Dental about one year ago for a regular cleaning. I also decided to get my wisdom teeth removed at the time. I am so thankful for accidentally choosing them.
