She really went the extra mile answering all our questions, thoroughly explaining everything we need to do and then provided a list for us! I myself also had an appointment with her and she was great. I hadn't been to a dentist in 8 years (yes, I know! Embarrassing!) but she made me feel so comfortable. One thing I absolutely hated about the dentist is getting that really long, expensive and overwhelming estimate at the end. Dr Phipps prioritized what needs to be done and provided only that estimate which helped my anxiety about the whole visit quite a bit. Her plan for me is realistic and again, not overwhelming like every single dentist I've been to. Debra at the front desk is also wonderful!!! She's so kind and patient and really helpful. I feel like every time I get examined after a cleaning, there is always something he recommends that I need work on or will eventually need, although I have no concerns or pain with any of my teeth. When he suggests all these unnecessary treatments, it gives me anxiety and makes me question whether I should get the work done or not. I always receive a printout of the recommended services and how much they will cost. I understand that it is ultimately up to me whether I want to proceed with any treatment, but the constant reminders of the RECOMMENDED work makes me feel pressured, and I don't like that feeling. It also makes me question whether it's all about making money. Going to the dentist already gives me a lot of anxiety, and I'm sure that's the case for many people. At the end of the day, I don't want a doctor who makes me feel like there is always something wrong with my teeth. Throughout my years, I have seen a lot of doctors and none has ever made me feel pressure like Dr. Sato. Maybe it's his personality or how he approaches his patients. My goal in finding a good dentist has always been about finding a great dental hygienist, but this time around I feel like I need to move on and find another doctor who makes me feel more comfortable and at ease. Lately, whenever I get some sort of work done--like a crown, a root canal, or even a simple cleaning--my nerve seems to get triggered and causes pain elsewhere. Rule of thumb: if there is nothing wrong with your tooth and no pain, leave it alone.

Great visit from my first to most recent…read more It had been some years since I'd gone to see the Dentist (yes I know), and I was looking for a more local dentist as my previous was in East Sac and I'm close to Elk Grove. I'd been researching dentists for some time and kept coming back to Elk Grove Healthy Smiles (EHS), due to all of theor positive reviews and the staff from posted photos seems very friendly. I finally decided to visit EHS, and it turns out my girlfriend we t here when she was younger and had positive experiences as well. My initial consultation was thorough, and everything noted was gone over with me by both my Dental Hygienist and Dr. Nanra. And any further treatment was discussed and I given the option and opportunity to do it the same day, which I opted for dueing my 1st visit. Further treatment I went to another professional, and EHS helped me through the process and were even able to get me in sooner than expected. And then get me back in in-house, to finish a treatment before I went on vacation. Standard visits have been quick and easy as well, and staff have always ensured I was comfortable throughout my visits. From the reception team up front, to the dental professionals in the back. The staff are always nice and friendly with a positive attitude. And the front desk staff, make everything from billing to appointment booking as easy as possible. Overall: Great Dr. and great staff. I was seated about two minutes after that.. They were very punctual. I got a full series of x-rays. Which included a panoramic x-ray, 4 bite-wings, and 2 PAs. Which I love so much, compared to other full mouth x-rays that are 18 x-rays altogether. Dr. Le did my cleaning. He was very thorough and gentle. After the cleaning was over, the assistant came in and polished and floss my teeth. When I left, my teeth, felt very clean. Being a dental hygienist myself, I would recommend to make an appointment with Dr. Le if you need a new dentist or a second opinion. Thank you, Dr. Le and your team for a great experience.
