I have removed a negative review that could have been easily avoided with a requested call back from Dr. Dewitt. I have found another dentist that has received authorization from my insurance to cover and perform the service that is needed. It is still a mystery to me why the insurance company (that Dr. Dewitt is a provider) did not approve Dr. Dewitt's predetermination request so that we could have moved forward especially since it has now been approved with documentation from another dentist in the same insurance network. This situation could have been avoided with better communication (especially with his office staff) and a simple call back from Dr. Dewitt to see how to work out the problem. read more

So I've only had one dentist my whole life. I was really hesitant to go anywhere else but well, it was time for me to be a grown up. Let me also preface that I love the dentist. I'm not scared of any tools or machines or noises there. But this place is pretty high tech...well again compared to the only other dentist I've been too. Dewitt came up on my providers list so I gave them a shot. Nice staff and very accommodating with everything. Got xrays done then came back to get my teeth cleaned. Had to get a filling for a cavity later but they squeezed me in right after my cleaning. Super nice! read more

I really cannot recommend this practice. From initial scheduling to many trips back and forth it was a bad experience. My crown done by DeWitt himself was bad. I went to another dentist who told me it would need replaced (6 months old) because the margins were off and it didn't fit- it was either replace it or wait for it to rot away and then a root canal. They have same day crowns but try telling that to the to the receptionist to get your appointment booked properly. There also seems to be a learning curve here with how to do them. I went back to have the botched crown replaced by another dentist in the practice and they were soooooo annoyed with me because the bite was off. I could tell the bite was high and kept having them fix it. After about 8 minutes of this I could tell they were ready to have me leave. All former dentists I've had are patient and understanding with this process. Not here. Parking is only 2 hours max, across the street on the bottom floor of the garage, or good luck finding street parking over here. Hands down, the worst dental experiences I've ever had. Guess what guys? I got hit with a $500 today, SIX MONTHS after my last procedure with them. They really could care less about you or communicating with you. I filed a complaint because I cannot believe months later this bill comes out of nowhere and they never bothered to let me know. I was actually the one to call them first and then they said...oh by the way you owe us $500. Get yourself a dentist office that has competent staff that don't screw you over. I just got back from getting my bi-yearly teeth cleaning. I don't live or work near my old dentist so I decided to try Dr. Dewitt's office. My dental hygentist / assistant was a very nice girl named Shanna. She was thorough, gentle, not pushy with the produces, and had a great chairside manner. Dr. Dewitt gets 3 stars because he has zero chairside manner but he was quick and effiecent. He seems like he is a good doctor and knows what he is doing. The office is nothing impressive which was a little surprising given the neighborhood. But the entire staff that I did meet was nice and the office was very clean and neat. read more

Despite some other questionable reviews here, I have, or rather, had, been using DeWitt for about 5 years though with increasing displeasure. After the cleaning and x-rays, rarely did the dentist come by to look at things or even say hello. But the hygienist was outstanding, working a limited schedule each week and that kept me coming back and working around her availability. Until today. They send out lots of automated reconfirmation messages but couldn't once tell me that this hygienist, the one they themselves had originally recommended (by office staff also no longer there) was not there any longer. Nobody knew anything and the person "assigned" to me couldn't have been more indifferent but she said that she was covering not a full-time associate. We're talking about something very important to one's health, not a dry cleaning order or such so I walked out, cancelling my next appointment at the same time and actually feeling good that I'm now looking for a dentist to whom I can put my faith and trust into. Perhaps that dentist will even come by to check my teeth and gums. Bottom line, DeWitt used to have a solid reputation when I first signed-up but looking at all the recent reviews, and my experience, says that it's very different now. read more

Until recently I had been seeing DeWitt and Associates for nearly 3 years. I recently switched dentists and can not believe what I discovered; my new dentist pointed out that my bite is way off and because of it I will need multiple crowns after my 2 years of braces that I will need as well. I asked my dentist at DeWitt at least 3 times if I needed to see an orthodontist and was always told no. These people are money grubbing and provide poor care. My ex had an extremely awful experience with them which is what prompted me to see another dentist. My new dentist was shocked and extremely concerned that my problems were blaintalty ignored for the last 3 years. DO NOT GO HERE, THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU PROPER CARE. read more

Mike and staff are fabulous....I visited Dewitt Dental for cosmetic work. The team has done everything to make me comfortable, make me happy and have gone above and beyond to make sure the work is perfect. I keep adding things for him to do and he talks it through with me, shares concerns and realities so I feel a part of the decision. I highly recommend this office. Dr. DeWitt is such a wonderful dentist! I had my first root canal here and I was really nervous. Turns out there was nothing to worry about. The experience was top notch; from the front desk to the dental assistant to the doctor. The dental work was painless, upscale, and efficient. Dewitt Dental is okay--but barely. I've seen them twice for cleanings and left both times with a mouth that felt far less clean and fresh than it should be. They didn't polish my teeth after they cleaned them, so I left with a gooey, plaque scraper taste in my mouth. On top of that, they tried to sell me slew of products--toothpaste, a new $125.00 sound wave toothbrush (I already own one but "it is getting old"), fluoride rinse, and so on. I've had fewer than three cavities in over thirty years, and have been seeing dentists in one of the most successful practices in a major US market. (The practices includes an older dentist and a younger one, nearly fresh from Dental school, so they provide a mix of points of view and the most up-to-date approaches.) Nevertheless, at Dewitt, they hostilely admonished me for not brushing well (and again tried to sell me a new version of my expensive toothbrush). Then they tried to schedule not one but two follow up appointments to drill out three or four of my teeth because they have "areas of discoloration." Someone I know has been using this office for years and the dentist at Dewitt, who has the bedside manner of a python, has drilled out just about every tooth in his mouth. While I'm sure it is possible that the dentists in this practice are well intentioned, this seems to be a drill, baby drill (read: bill, baby bill) kind of office. read more

My friend urged me to see Dr. Dewitt after my previous dentist gave me a filling that turned into an oral nightmare for a year. Turns out that filling was deep, the root was abscessed and infected and I needed a root canal. Dr. Dewitt got me in that day because of the level of pain I was experiencing. I left his office more comfortable than I had been in a year. He has an incredible chair side manner, was confident, patient, and respectful. The procedure took two visits so far because of the infection and I'll be back for a third to get the crown but so far, so good with Dr. Dewitt. I will refer my friends and family to him for sure.* read more

Dr. DeWitt and his staff are amazing. For someone like myself who isn't a fan of the dentist, this team makes you feel as comfortable as possible and take their time to review all dental options and again, make you feel as informed as possible and without judgement, making you feel comfortable the entire time. They also work closely with you if you do not have proper insurance coverage. And to top that - Dr. DeWitt is just a great guy! Highly recommended! read more

Been seeing Dr. DeWitt for probably 20 years and he has always been kinf, professional, and honest. I have several crowns he placed in 2003 that are fine. A couple times I had to see another dentist in the office and that was unpleasant. Also, my long-time hygienist left the practice which was disappointing, but Dr. DeWitt has been great. read more

For a long time I had been seeing a different dentist who would tell me I had to get several different procedures done every time I went in for a visit (which meant I was spending A LOT of money on them). After being told I needed yet another procedure done, I decided to get a second opinion and went in to see Dr. DeWitt - and I'm SO glad I did! I had a lot of concerns based on what my previous dentist had told me and Dr. DeWitt talked me through everything and answered all of my questions very patiently. Dr. DeWitt was very honest and clarified all of my concerns. Additionally, the staff at Dr DeWitt's office is very friendly and make you feel comfortable the entire time you are there. I definitely recommend DeWitt Dental Associates if you're on the search for a good, honest dentist. read more

Had a very positive experience at DeWitt Dental. I have a lot of anxiety around dentistry, but the staff was very patient and kind. They took the time to explain their concerns. The receptionist was also very friendly and helpful. Not for me, but someone else came in and said they didn't know their insurer, and with limited information, she worked with them to figure everything out. best dentist ever. They are very patient gentle and listen to your concerns. Also, they are not pushy and don't do unnecessary work!

I have always been an easy going patient when it comes to dentistry. It was time for me to replace my totally cosmetic dental work with new and I looked to Dr. De Witt. I've had this cosmetic procedure done four times now but this was the first time I was ever anesthetized. You shouldn't need it if it is cosmetic. Hell, I had a root canal without any anesthesia!! Anyway, after the anesthesia wore off my mouth hurt so much. It was still hurting three days later so I went back to see Dr. De Witt. He was not sympathetic and indicated it would stop hurting soon and I could try aspirin. I was so upset and anxious to get out of his care that I jumped out of the chair while it was still elevated. After all of this my horribly expensive cosmetic dentistry ($500/tooth and I need eight) it looks terrible. My floss gets caught on two teeth every night when I floss. My current dentist says they fit like socks on a rooster. This cosmetic dentistry typically has a 'life' of ten to fifteen years and these are now only six years old. I need to have them replaced because they are so poorly done that my gums are unhealthy. The cosmetic dentistry I have chosen to have is now risking the overall health of eight of my teeth. When I expressed my disappointment with the cosmetic work Dr. De Witt offered to make any repairs/changes I wanted. I'd rather pay another dentist $4,000 than have Dr. Michael De Witt anywhere near my mouth ever again. The damage he caused was much more than a wasted $4,000. Dr. De Witt's poor care has impacted the current and future health of my mouth. Now all I have to do is save another $4,000 and find the ability to ever trust another cosmetic dentist again. I would not recommend Dr. De Witt to anyone for any reason. read more
