After reading some reviews on yelp about Dr. Michael Ding, I decided he was my man. What a great choice I made. He explained all my options after the teeth were removed, and when it came for the extractions, it was QUICK and PAINLESS. Didn't even need the pain killer he prescribed. I recently took my mother to see Dr. Ding, and we were both really impressed. My upper and lower jaw surgery case was extremely complicated, very rare , and needed a highly precise plan. Dr. Ding, myself and my husband worked closely on the preparation of my surgery for a year! Dr. Ding and his team are very professional , friendly , and made me feel very comfortable with each visit. The day finally arrived, when I had my 5 1/2 hour surgery. ( Dec. 29, 2016) Dr. Ding and his team stayed with me at the hospital until I was checked into my room at the hospital, and gave my husband the explanation of my surgery outcome in great detail. My girlfriend, an over the top dentaphobe, had a tooth pulled by Dr Ding about 3 years ago. I was VERY impressed by how he handled her(as was she and that is BIG). I was referred to Dr. Ding by my dentist who found an unusual growth on my tongue during a recent checkup. Yeah, my tongue...news like that is not the highlight of one's day! My consultation with Dr. Ding was top notch. Dr. Ding is professional, competent and thorough. I don't write reviews often, this is well deserved. Let me start off by saying Id rather give birth than go to the dentist. I'm scared, I don't like it, I just don't. I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed (all 4) and was referrred to Dr. Ding. From the beginning they were. all very nice and made me comfortable. I was so afraid. the day of surgery they wasted no time getting me in and and starting quickly. Needless to say the procedure was PAINLESS , NO swelling, NO complications. I was worried about afterwards and as long as I ate and stayed on my meds and followed the directions it was not bad at all. How do you describe a blessing? On Friday I broke off a front tooth and had to confront my fear of dentists after 20 plus years of not seeing one. I received a referral from Dr. McCormick at Leander Dental to remove the rest of the tooth and to remove another tooth that had broken off years ago. We called them from the parking lot of Leander Dental and to our shock they said come on over. By the time we got there they had the insurance information ready to go and we went back to have a consultation which ended up being so much more. I explained to them about my fear of dental work and Doctor Ding explained the surgical removal and implant procedures and reassured me that he could make sure I had no anxiety. Then he asked me, to my shock, what I was doing in 10 minutes and said that if I had time they could perform the procedure now! They took us back out to the reception, we worked out the payment and within 15 minutes I was sedated by Dr. Ding and he was doing his job - and what a job it was! It has been around 12 hours since the procedure and still no pain. He even called on our way home to check on me. I really can't explain how comfortable this team has made me feel. After 20 years of not seeing a dentist because of fear, I had the most comfortable procedure with only the anxiety I walked in the door with. They went out of their way to make sure that there was no embarrassment felt by me over this issue. I plan on updating this post and the one on Leander Dental as we move through the treatments. I hope that others who may be fearful of dental work will see this and know there are compassionate dentists out there ready to treat you with dignity and offer an alternative treatment option to take away your anxiety. Dr. Ding was recommended by my dentist for the removal of my wisdom teeth. Prior to Dr. Ding, I had never had any type of surgery done. So I was terrified of going. Once there, everyone was nice and welcoming. Dr. Ding took a look at my X-rays and explained the whole process. He was very knowledgeable and explained that it would be a simple 30 minute procedure. He told me that he was going to numb my mouth, so when I would wake up, I would not be in pain. A week later, I was scheduled for surgery. Again, I had never had surgery done. I was especially scared about being put to sleep thru IV. Thankfully, the day of, Dr. Ding and his staff explained each step and made me very comfortable. Before I knew it, I was asleep. When I woke up, I was not in pain. I was just numb. The process was quick and painless. A few hours later, once at home, Dr. Ding called me to see how I was doing and said if I needed anything, to give him a call and he would help me out. Everyone is different when it comes to recovery. Great experience from the very first phone call through to our last follow up. I called several offices including those I was referred to by my dentist without success for various reasons such as insurance, scheduling, etc. Stephanie Caballero answered the phone at Dr. Ding's office and she was extremely pleasant and helpful. Dr. Ding made my worst nightmare an absolute dream! Friendliest staff you will find in ANY professional office, medical or not! I had put off having my four wisdom teeth pulled for years because the dentist told me it would be very painful and would require quite a bit of time off since they would be so difficult to pull. Finally, I decided if it had to be done, I'd try an oral surgeon instead of a dentist so I could sleep through it. I found Dr. Ding on Yelp and scheduled a visit. I was scheduled sooner than I had hoped and before I knew it I was in the office for an exam and x-ray (the price was just as painless as the scheduling!) Dr. Ding's entire staff is exceptionally friendly! Christy was the one who did my x-ray and showed me to the exam room. She noticed I was cold and immediately rushed off to get me a blanket. She came back with one straight out of the dryer! She and the rest of the ladies who work in his office are angels! Dr. Ding told me that because my bottom wisdom teeth would be so difficult to remove, I would not be able to avoid pain, probably the second and third days after surgery. Add to that the fact that I've never been put under anesthesia, and I was pretty nervous about my surgery! Friends of mine who have had general anesthesia before told me it would be okay and that the doctor would have me count to ten, or backwards from ten and that would be all I would remember. So, I went into the O.R. with an anxiety attack laying in wait for someone to pull the trigger on it (which would have been Dr. Ding telling me to count) BUT he didn't have me count at all! He was joking and laughing with me and then I was out! He's wonderful! I woke up in the recovery room with an INSTANT sense of relief!!! The pain I had been living with was gone! I couldn't talk so I wrote him and the ladies a note thanking them for being so great. The next day, dreading that I would wake up in pain, I woke up with NONE! As well as the day after that and the day after that! I never felt a bit of pain after my surgery! Dr. Ding's after care instructions are very detailed and if you follow them you will have a far easier recovery than Dr. Ding warns you about! I have told everyone I know about Dr. Ding and recommend him to anyone who doesn't like pain!! read more

10:30AM today I had at 12 to 15 teeth pulled, stitches in my gums (4 or 5 teeth were broken at the gum and had to cut out). For days I was nervous I was going to be in so much pain, miss work, and spend the weekend feeling bad. Well, after the surgery I felt wonderful! NO PAIN AT ALL. 4 days ago I had oral surgery to remove two molars; actually one of them was nothing but "root tips." I was put under for about 30 minutes and when I woke up it was all over. Since then I have had no pain at all. I can't believe this has been so easy. Dr.Ding's manner is very good. He has been very patient and thoroughly answered every question. About 2 hours after the surgery he called me at home to make sure I was all right. Today I called his office because I thought I might have a problem developing, so I spoke to his assistant. I called Dr. Dings office this morning with a concern (turned out to be nothing) Jennifer offered me a time of 8:20 to see dr. Ding between surgeries, I couldn't be there that quickly, she then offered me 10:15 which was fine. I arrived at 9:45 and was gone by 10:15. Dr. Ding did a quick exam, said everything was fine, I sort of apologized for taking his time when there was no problem. Dr Ding was emphatic about me calling no matter how small of an issue I might think I had. I don't expect any problems but it is comforting to know if a concern comes up My doctor is serious about me calling him. This post is my first-ever review on Yelp. However, it is overdue, completely necessary, and an honor to write. I began my journey with Dr. Ding in 2014. Previous to seeing him, I had been receiving extensive dental work, including implants, from another provider. The first problem was that the previous provider was a dentist and not an oral surgeon. For those reading this post, please let the specialist guide and perform your care when oral surgery is involved and do not go to a dentist, as they are practicing in a specific scope of practice that is best suited to an oral surgeon. The previous dental work I received was terribly done, not managed properly after completion leading to negligence, and infection and bone loss ensued. I then took my now complex case to Dr. Ding to see if there was anything he could do. He welcomed me with open arms. However, he was 100% honest about the state of my mouth and what could realistically done to mend it. His honesty is but one of the many ways he shows a deep respect for his patients. Long story short, after two subsequent years of surgical procedures, I have healthy teeth and bones, a beautiful smile, and an enormous amount of gratitude for Dr. Ding and his staff. I work in the medical field and understand how difficult it can be to fully place your care into another's hands, yet Dr. Ding made it such a comfortable and easy transition. I always felt a sense of safety while under his care.
