Unfortunately, my experience at Aspen Dental was disappointing. I scheduled an appointment to adjust my loose partial upper denture, and since the office was aware of the issue beforehand, I expected adequate time for proper evaluation and adjustment. The assistant was kind and professional, but the dentist was not particularly friendly. My partial was sent back and forth to the lab multiple times, yet the person making the adjustments didn't see how it fit in my mouth until the end, which made the process feel ineffective. As the appointment went on, I felt increasingly rushed, and the focus seemed to shift toward replacing the partial rather than fixing it. I ultimately settled for a fit that was still unsatisfactory because I didn't feel comfortable asking for further adjustments. Cleanliness was also a concern. After disinfecting my partial, the assistant repeatedly handled it with bare hands before giving it back to me to place in my mouth, which felt unsanitary. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and uncomfortable. While the assistant was pleasant, the dentist's demeanor, the rushed experience, and the handling of my dental appliance mean I won't be returning. I was scheduled for a root canal and a temporary crown for 10:00. I have had several root canals before and it only takes around 1 and 1/2 to 1 and 3/4 hours. I was in the chair for 3 hours while the doctor kept leaving me to work on other patients. She did this 3-4 times. When she got to the build up for the temporary crown, some of the anistetic had worn off and she had to give me another shot to deaden it. When she got to the build up, she seemed to be in a huge hurry to get done. Needless to say, I was not happy. Although I am not the type of person to complain and make others feel bad, she didn't give me the feeling of giving me the attention necessary to finish in a timely manner. I'm afraid that I made a mistake in choosing this practice for my dental needs. UPDATE: I wanted to update my review. I received my crown on my tooth and, today, I felt very much like a valued patient. The Dr and her staff really made me feel valued and they showed me how kind and professional that they are. This place was the worst for customer service. They were rude and last week I went to get my dentures adjusted and there was no one at the desk for 20 minutes so I left. When I called this last time to get my dentures adjusted she informed me that "this was the last time". If they do not do a good job or if my dentures hurt, I need to go back. I was given 8 novacaine injections deep into my gums during a single visit. It was deep enough to leave my nose and sinus area numb for 12 hours. First question...'do you take my insurance?' yes, they did, and another $3K for dental work I did not need. They were going to charge me another $90 for one of my twice a year cleanings, which normally has always been fully covered by my insurance at other dentists. I just walked out of my appointment, went to another dentist in Cedar Park who said your cleanings are fully covered here by your insurance, no out-of-pocket. When lots of people leave the same review, take that as a sign. I went in for a toothache being told a coupon would be applied for today's visit, free visit and X-rays. Full mouth x-rays, consultation with hygienist, and dentist. Options offered as my plan: spend $11,000 for a full plan or pull the offending tooth/teeth. Needless to say I left with the same pain! I would say it is clear that they are not interested in relieving dental pain if you are not interested in having everything they find fixed. RUN. While the staff is indeed very friendly, the actual DENTAL WORK is criminal. I came in and was told I needed 4 fillings and an advanced gingivitis cleaning. Ended up getting 2 teeth filled on my left side. They did nothing to check my bite. I was then not able to eat on my left side without horrible pain for the next 6 weeks. Ended up going to Pecan Park Family Dentistry 6 weeks later only to find out I don't have any cavities, and I don't have gingivitis. They will ruin your teeth for money. Please run away. I have already suffer the pain for three days, However the doctor Only suggested doing deep clean and demove wisdom teeth. Not even prescribe any medicine to relief the condition. Outstanding administrative incompetence that I would avoid at all costs. The dental services were fair, but there is no way they can carry all the weight with such a lack of professionalism in the office. We should have left after the first experience, but the Dr was good, and so was the tech (otherwise I would give 0 stars). We only decided to go there because it was close to home and our insurance was expiring soon, so they booked us without issue, which made it convenient. I regret not leaving after the first visit because it took 4 months to resolve a billing issue that nearly went into collections, which was a mistake on their part in the charging. I will not go into all the details of our experiences but We returned to complete the procedure that we started. The dental care was fine as I mentioned but, unfortunately, its completely overshadowed by the lack of professionalism in the admin and the unwillingness or interest to provide common customer service skills. We spent endless time following up with things that should have been brought to our attention but weren't. Our calls and emails were repeatedly not answered, even when they had no patients in the office. Finally, we are glad to leave today after receiving a digital copy of our X-rays which only came a month after submitting an authorization form that was supposed to take 5-10 business days to process. 4 weeks later: Two phone calls,2 emails and an in-office visit asking for them even did not resolve this and they act as if noth happene and they nearly never reply. Yesterday they finally send the X-rays to us by email after going there to follow up but when received half of them were missing. I responded by asking them to send the complete file which they responded with the missing half without acknowledgement or an explanation or a word to take responsibility for their mistake. Although, it is to be expected from service industries that are centralized and run by equity funds by streamlining systems to increase efficacies and profits, which Aspen seems to be. At least hire trained professionals or you overstep the point of diminishing returns as this place has. Also, to be expected, equity firms do not care about the service they provide, they only look after their bottom line, so, it is advantageous to hire unskilled labor and provide a false image to the public of having customer service by hiring online content monitors to respond to reviews. I complete farce. We will Avoid Aspen Dental and tell everyone to as well. Now we will take the time to find a family-run dental office that still operates according to the values of providing clients a service that they care about and stand behind. The office staff is so friendly. Mindy the office manager was phenomenal. She had went above and beyond to make my appointment and helped get my records from another Aspen office. She called me back when she said she would. Greg the front office staff member was professional and courteous. Dr. Farrah was outstanding. She was gentle and kind and very aware of the sensitivity I was experiencing. She explained and demonstrated how to clean my bridge after she put it in. The absolute worst experience at a dentist office in my life. Aspen is a money grubbing company with a negligent dentist and an incompetent staff. I ended up in the emergency room due to severe tooth pain later that evening because Aspen forgot to call in my prescriptions. I tried calling after hours but their automated system is worthless if you have an emergency such as mine. Earlier that afternoon, Aspen spent the first half hour with the dental hygienist poking around my mouth, taking x-rays while my tooth was throbbing. Dentist arrived, did not examine my mouth at first. Just told me I will need a root canal and referred me to a specialist. I asked her "you cannot do a root canal on a cracked tooth can you? ". She replied, "your tooth is not cracked". I urged her to look at the x-rays. She looked at the images and finally examined my mouth, abruptly changing her recommendation to just pull the tooth instead of a root canal. She would write an RX for antibiotics and something to treat the pain. Aspen would not make an appointment unless I paid a deposit to pull the tooth. $1000 to pull one tooth. I wasn't able to pay that so I focused on confirming with the receptionist to call in the prescriptions so I could start treating the infection and alleviate the pain until I figured out another option. I left in more pain than when I arrived, in shock how the dentist missed seeing my cracked tooth and the first quote of $4000 for a root canal. I ended up finding a dentist a few miles away who pulled my tooth for $80. Do not waste your hard earned money or time at Aspen. They don't care about the patient. Nothing but problems with dental services, billing, scheduling, etc. Had pain in a tooth for over a year, constant X-rays, check-ups, etc. Finally diagnosed as two cavities in tooth. A year and now the pain is gone. Scheduling is a nightmare. Several appointments - show up for the appointment and the receptionist would inform us that the appointment is cancelled. Absolutely avoid this place. They are only in it for the money. The endodontist that comes in does not take the same insurance as Aspen which is a huge issue. The dental hygienist will tell you that you need a deep cleaning with a follow up cleaning in two weeks. I know for a fact I don't need any deep cleaning. Went to Pecan Park Dentistry after the disaster Aspen Dental was. Complete opposite, they were professional, competent and infinitely cheaper! Now I know what you're thinking, "even though Aspen Dental offers free check ups and x-rays?" YUP! My checkup, x-rays and deep cleaning cost me $300 as opposed to $1400 Aspen Dental wanted. Why so much from Aspen Dental? Well one, they're terrible and two they wanted to fill cavities that didn't actually exist!!! D sad o remember, stay away from Aspen Dental but don't just take my word for it, their is a class action lawsuit against them for luring in new patients with " free check ups and x-rays" and attempting to charge those new patients with expensive and unnecessary procedures! Dont bother. Treatment is decent thru 2 visits but everything else is a dumpster fire of a clown show. They get you in quick enough do the xrays and initial visit them dont let you leave without seeing the office mgr who goes over the payment options with you. This is where it gets fun I got a $2300 treatment plan which considering the work needed seemed ok for 6 month plan. They give you so they say this option that they say doesnt involve a credit check or anything at 0% which u can stretch over 18 months. I told them how important it was since I was going thru a 1st mortgage process my credit not be touched. So she said you'll get something in the mail in 10 days nothing came. Went for my 2nd appt today they told me it was never processed and they would do it today. Then I see my realtor and get a email notification they did a hard inquiry on my credit during a home buying process. Typical say one thing do another. I'm finding a different dentist and I advise you do as well read more
