I've always had anxiety when it comes to the dentist, however, I need some work done to my teeth so that's not a great combination. Unfortunately, I've had some bad experiences with Dentisits. When I finally decided to take action I took a look at the reviews on Yelp and decided to give La Frontera Dental a shot. On my first visit I made it known that I was nervous but unfortunately, their block lost power before I could be seen by the Doctor and I thought... just my luck lol. They were able to get me rescheduled a few days later and I'm so thankful that I got paired with his dental assistant, Melanie. She listened to my concerns, assured me that I was at the right place, eased my anxiety and told me that they'd help me. She made me feel so comfortable which is exactly what I needed in that moment. When I was seen by Dr. Satish he assured me that we'd come up with a plan to get me feeling better. I received a plan of action which I could alter depending on my availability of funds (dental work is not cheap!). I've already been back for step one which were filings and that appointment went well. I already have my second procedure scheduled. I think I'll request Melanie to assist with any of my future visits because she just made me feel so comforted. But honestly everyone I've encountered there from the front desk staff to Dr. Satish himself have been very welcoming and extremely friendly. I definitely recommend paying them a visit for any of your dental needs! read more

So angry right now! I have a very strong fear of dentist's and made that very clear when I first scheduled my appt. I specifically chose this dentist because he uses single tooth anesthesia, and my fear is around the anesthesia and numbing. I also have high blood pressure, which goes much higher at the dentist because of the anxiety. I've been in several times now so NONE of this is new to him. He's already extracted a tooth for me! I come in today for a 2 hour appointment, something he scheduled this way for a filling and two crowns. He could have broken this up into three appts. I come in today and my blood pressure is high. Of course it is, I hate the dentist! He took my blood pressure four times and it's the normal high for me, but he tells me he refuses to work on me because of it!! He said it's a longer procedure and he has to use epinephrine based anesthesia. I have specifically told him he cannot use any epinephrine based products on me because of my blood pressure and anxiety! My husband and I both took today off for this appt for nothing. He was also yelling at me and his whole office could hear him discussing my blood pressure. I have never been treated so poorly by a dentist before. He even told me how hard it is to work on me. I left, demanded a refund for the work I prepaid but didn't get and will never go back. Thanks for not treating me, and humiliating me. read more

I had an excellent experience going to a new dental clinic La Frontera Dental, I read the reviews, which were very impressive and had a good feeling when I called to set appointment, then again when I called back with a question and when I was called back to be reminded of appointment. When I met the staff-I was impressed even more. I wouldn't even call who works in the clinic staff-it's evident that they are a team. Dr.Salish, the dentist was very friendly, kind and easy to talk to, I Felt very very comfortable, when I arrived to my appointment 20 minutes early when it was probably his staffs lunchtime and he personally greeted me and offered me something to drink. I use Uber for transportation and when I was done Dr. Satish asked me if I would like him to call an Uber for me. Long story short I was a new patient I went there Friday my appointment was at 11am . I was seeing by the Dr. like around 12 am then , the doctor told me that we just going to do a quick look ! but , if you want we can do a full look and tell what's going on with my teeth but if I go and come back at 2pm because they want to have a lunch break!!!! I agreed then, later on I was late 1-15 minutes then they call me say my appointment canceled and I will have to come on Tuesday . I asked on the phone if they can ask the doctor if he can still can see me because I'm not late that much and, I'm literally down the street from them. I was flexible with them when they asked me to leave and come back at 2pm because they want to have a (lunch break ) which was my real appointment with them at 11AM . She asked me if I can bear with her and hold she left me there then another one answers me and her name ( Christina )and she's the (Office manager), she didn't even listen to me or my concerns or ask the doctor as I wanted literally she said I'm Office manager at least 2-3 times she said that and we cannot see you today. I review them( -5 ) stars the one star too good for them . They don't even deserve it they deserve something really bad like their service . I LOST A TOOTH due to a TERRIBLE job done by DR. SATISH at LA FRONTERA DENTAL! He suggested I did a root canal, due to some pain on tooth 14 (upper left side). During the first phase of the procedure, while I was still sitting on the chair, I endured HORRIBLE pain, and realized my cheek had swelled to the size of an orange! Dr. Satish called my boss and requested days off because I had no conditions for going to work. He told me I must have had some allergies to the product he used, which later, after talking to other dentists, I found out to be BS. Trusting him, I returned to his office to finalize the root canal and again, I felt MISERABLE pain. He kept saying everything was normal and sent me home. After some days, I couldn't stand the pain anymore and called begging him to remove everything he had done. He kept prescribing strong painkillers and saying it would pass. With time, the pain got better, but it never went completely away. Months passed and the area above the root canal, right under the cheekbone, was ALWAYS sore! No Ibuprofen ever helped. At that point, I went to see another dentist. After doing a 3D x-ray, I found out Dr Satish HAD LEFT THREE LONG WIRES (don't know the technical name) from the root canal STUCK TO MY CHEECKBONE, along with a piece of "WHO KNOWS WHAT!" My new dentist even called a colleague to show the 3D picture. They couldn't believe their eyes! The only way to get rid of the soreness was to remove everything! On top of lost wages from missing work, I lost all the money I had paid Dr. Satish to do the root canal and the crown. Dr. Satish has a very nice office and seems friendly, which caused a good first impression on me. Don't let this fool you! He may be an ok dentist to perform simple procedures, but FOR COMPLEX PROCEDURES, FIND ANOTHER DENTIST! read more

I needed an emergency appointment and treatment, and am so glad I found La Frontera Dental. I injured a tooth about a month ago, and since then the gums above it became very sore. In the last week, I developed an abscess (ie, a big, puss-filled bump) above the tooth. To make matters worse, the tooth below the abscess became very loose and I was afraid I would lose it and require an artificial replacement. I called La Fronterra Dental the first thing on Monday morning, and they fit me in just a couple hours later. Dr. Satish explained the cause of the problem, the treatment needed (a root canal), and moved his schedule around to fit me in for the treatment the same day. This was my first root canal and honestly, I couldn't tell the difference from a regular cavity filling procedure. I literally felt nothing. If you're familiar with root canals, you'll know they often result in reinfection. Throughout the procedure, Dr. Satish took three separate x-rays to ensure the infected root was properly removed. I'm writing this review just one day after (on Tuesday). My tooth feels better and my gums feel better. And guess who I just got off the phone with? Dr. Satish. He just called me to check up on how I was feeling. That's pretty awesome. You don't find that level of service very often anymore. Not only is Dr. Satish skilled in his craft, he is someone who cares about his patients. With that, I highly recommend his practice to anyone seeking a dentist. read more

I've been coming to Dr Satish for almost 2 years. I got a crown done here, unfortunately it fell out a year later, but he squeezed me in super fast the next morning! I haven't had any trouble since. Dr. Satish and his staff is very good at what they do. I came in here because it was right next to my work place, and realized why I did not come in earlier. Dr. Satish is an ebullient personality but that does not takeaway from his work. His office is just the right size that allows the patients to come in and leave in time. This guy is friendly with everyone patients and staff. This approach allows for the experience to a dentist to be special. Recently, some dentist offices look like factory floors. That is just not the case here. The Dr. suggested some treatment options that were technically right, however, I did not pursue the recommendations because the issue has not surfaced. Always a pleasant experience when going to La Frontera for anything dental. Having only experienced military dental prior to going here, there was some angst and trepidation at seeing any dentist post military. They always made me feel at ease. In some sort of crazy way, I look forward to my annual appointment and subsequent clean. They have also provided education where the military (dentists/hygienists missed the mark. My dental health continues to get better at each visit. I wasn't aware that dental health could be possibly linked to other ailments. They make it a point to put you on the right track! I'm finally cured of a horrible dental affliction I've been suffering with for 9 YEARS. Some background: I bit into a walnut shell that found its way into my meal in 2006, and cracked two opposing molars. The dentist I saw at the time patched the teeth with filling, but I still had pain like an electric shock when I bit into crunchy food on that side of my mouth. That dentist nor his teammates then (and another dentist since) couldn't find the reason so they didn't bother with a solution. (And one of the aforementioned teammates made me cry with his brutal manhandling of my mouth and then yelled me for grinding at night... Like I can help it?!) So a few months ago, I found La Frontera Dental on Yelp. It was so close to my office that I was willing to overlook its iffy ratings, only to find *dozens* of 5-star reviews buried behind a tiny handful of others. What's up with that?! See for yourself! I took a chance and I'm glad I did. Dr Satish and his crew put major emphasis on my comfort and always let me set the pace. I really felt welcome and they really did listen to my concerns. I got the remote control to the TV, and it turns out Satish is also a Seinfeld fan (awesome) and then next time they even let me have domain over their Pandora account (super awesome.) Everyone there is really polite and pretty darn cool. Here I am a month later with my very first crown, and the ability to chew on my left side for the first time in almost a decade. I had potato chips today and sighed with relief-- I had become so used to constant pain, and now it's gone! A wonderful experience! My daughter had a toothache and I took her to see Dr. Thirumalai at La Frontera Dental. The staff is super friendly and we were warmly greeted upon arrival. The facilities are top notch and it is a beautiful office. Once all the new patient paperwork was completed we were seen pretty quickly. My daughter was assessed quickly and efficiently. Her teeth were cleaned. Her cavity was filled. Dr. Thirumalai is knowledgeable, professional, and experienced. He has a gentle touch and a great bedside manner. His staff is also wonderful. Dr. Satish was recommended to me by multiple coworkers. I decided to check him out in December. I was excited to find out he also does cosmetic dental work. 2 of my teeth have bothered me for years due to their small size. After my cleaning and filling appointments we started the cosmetic work but I personally didn't have a good experience. I spoke with the office at 11 in the morning to confirm my appointment and arrived a few hours later. She failed to mention my quote was wrong, I owe an additional $1200. She waited until I was in the chair ready to start to tell me. I was put on the spot and would have liked a heads up before coming into the office. I was there for 3.5 hours on a Friday evening. I didn't notice until breakfast Saturday morning that my bite was completely off and I was left w blood stain that would not come off with brushing. It was a holiday weekend so I had to wait until Tuesday to call the office. He was out on vacation so one of his assistants helped me the best she could. I was able to chew better but she could not address the blood stains without creating new temporaries. So she set up an appointment once Dr. Satish returned to the office. He was able to create new temporaries that I'm much more happy with but I am very nervous about my permanent teeth. I sent an email to his office manager with my concerns Tuesday before my appointment but she still hasn't acknowledged me. I told Dr. Satish and he was very apologetic and he wants to make it right. He's very nice and caring but this process has been a headache. I hope I love the finished product but I nervously wait. read more

On Friday, I needed to see a dentist asap due to an issue I was having and I called a place that wanted to schedule me until next month which was bogus because I told them I was in pain. I called La Frontera because it was literally down the street from my home and the reviews on yelp drew me into calling. I explained my situation and next thing you know yesterday I was in, filling out paperwork. The staff was great and courteous. The office is incredibly clean! (I loved it since I'm a mom who is OCD about cleanliness). I'm also a big fan of people who know what they're talking about. Dr. Thirumalai is our family dentist for the last 3 years and I am so glad we are in great care of a wonderful and caring practice. Dr. Thirumalai left an indelible impression during the first visit itself. He took a genuine interest in knowing me better and my dental needs and was super thorough in recommending a good treatment plan. I had come in for a root canal treatment and tooth extraction after a not-so great experience with another provider that made despise getting another extraction/root canal done, but Dr. Thirumalai and his team made it painless and a true pleasure. Since then, me and my family have been regularly visiting Dr. Thirumalai for our dental needs and every time he/his team ensures our needs are thoroughly met. Dr. Thirumalai has great bedside manners, connects with you instantly and gives you a lot of laughter that makes these visits a pleasure. The facility is very clean and nicely maintained. There is an overhead TV to keep you entertained and getting your dental work while listening to your favorite melodious songs is truly a pleasure. I so much enjoy these visits and many a times look forward to these dental appointment reminders! Now, this is really in stark contrast with my experience in the past where going to a dental practice was not always the fun thing to do! The check-ins are smooth, and the staff ensures your appointment times start promptly so you can get back to work/drop kids off in school on time. The staff also works with you and provides you flexibility in scheduling. Their prices are very reasonable, their billing process and working with insurance are seamless and hassle-free. The practice is in a great location near I-35 and 45 in Round Rock with an ample parking right outside. La Frontera Dental is a small practice but with a BIG heart. It's great to see personally signed cards from the doctor and from the team on our birthdays and holidays. I've also found from other sources that La Frontera Dental has also contributed quietly, and generously, to several non-profits for charitable causes. If I could give more stars I would! I've been coming to Dr. Satish for about 2 1/2 years now and in the time he has completely transformed my smile. I first stumbled upon Dr. Satish on google. I had just moved to Austin and was searching for a dentist since I had been previously told I needed to get a root canal. I must have gone to three or four separate dentists/endodontist before I stumbled upon Dr. Satish. I don't remember the exact cost for the entire treatment was but I remember it being a couple hundred less than what I had been quoted at other places. Not only was the price great but the staff was also amazing. Throughout the entire treatment (multiple visits) the staff was very nice, informative and helpful. I was so impressed by them I decided to get the Invisalign treatment through him. Fabianna, the dental assistant, has been so incredibly helpful during my entire Invisalign treatment. When I had concerns about gaps between my trays she was quick to assess the situation and consult with Dr. Satish about getting new trays ordered. I have been going to La Frontera Dental since I moved to the Austin area 1 year ago. I needed fair amount of dental work done. Dr. Satish and his staff have been amazing. They always work around your schedule and in my case my financial situation as well (no insurance). Dr. Satish setup a game plan for me and just finished. I have had about 4 visits in the last year, including cleanings, which all have been 5 star treatments. Everybody who works there seems to have a genuine concern that you are comfortable and relaxed from the moment you walk through the door. Whether it is a refreshment as you enter the lobby or TV/music on when you sit down in "The Chair". Dr. Satish has done nothing but quality work on my teeth. To address another persons 1 star review. I have only been called once by La Frontera to confirm an appointment and that was because I did not respond to their 2 emails or text message to confirm my appointment, which are sent way before days in advance. You setup your preferred method of being contacted to confirm your appointments your first visit. Confirming dental appointments sounds like standard practice to me. Also, the staff is amazingly friendly couldn't even imagine one of them letting out a sigh frustration or irritation at somebody in even the worst of days. You will also notice that this user has never reviewed anything on yelp before... So, if you are looking for a good dentist please give Dr. Satish and La Frontera Dental a chance.
