They took care of it... a short laser surgery later and my sons braces are back on track. The were great to my boy and he handled everything well! Really good people and the surgery was quick and almost painless. They made my son comfortable and treated him right! I was ISO dental specialty attention for my girlfriend with a gum condition her dentist hasn't seen before. So I called this practice this morning to see about an appointment. I spoke with someone named "Keith" who sounded like he either worked for a call center or this was his first call. I explained the urgency and was first offered an appointment 6 weeks out. When I questioned that and offered that we could really go to any location, he was only able to bring that forward by 4 weeks to mid- June. Maybe I got the wrong agent, but it would seem most practices are more accommodating of urgent care scenarios. As it stands, I'm unlikely to use this practice for any of my needs simply because apathy at the front desk usually has deeper roots. read more

Dr Desai is such a blessing!! I was told by ANOTHER dental surgeon that I "needed" a gum-graft on eight teeth. Cost was astronomical and recovery long. A friend from my hometown who is a dental surgeon found out, and suggested that I go to a periodontist who performed the pinhole technique, which is much less invasive with little pain and short recovery time. So, I took his advice, and in my search found Dr. Desai and went to him for a consult. He told me that I did NOT need the gum graft!!! He thoroughly explained why, and if something ever changes, I will have the pinhole technique done at 1/3 the cost at CTP, then it was at Optima. It makes me angry that I almost needlessly went thru with it, but my gratitude to Dr..Desai for his honesty wins out! His attention to every periodontal detail combined with looking at my overall health, made me feel extremely confident in what he told me, and I am forever thankful for him!! The dentist was fine, but we had big issues with the billing. Buyer beware and check for yourself if this place is in your network. My husband was referred by his dentist to Central Texas Periodontics. My husband checked in, they gave him an estimate of what the insurance would pay then sent us a bill for the full amount of over $2,000. They were out of network and when we asked whey they didn't mention that they said it was our responsibility to research it ourselves. We asked if they would provide some sort of courtesy discount since we were under the impression they were in network and we were paying the full amount and they would not do anything for us. Lesson learned but if we would have been informed they were out of network we would have chosen one who was in our network. read more

We had an excellent experience at central Texas periodontist. My daughter needed a gingivectomy. When I called central Texas they were super friendly and I gave me all the initial information I needed so I set up an initial appointment. Dr mike was so patient and explained everything so my 15 year old would understand the procedure. She had the gingivectomy two weeks ago. Dr mike was so patient with her!! He made sure the numbing gel had plenty of time to work before starting any injections. She didn't feel a thing! At one point she became a bit nauseated and dr mike stopped to give her a break. The assistant brought her a sprite and she felt better right away. Everyone is so friendly and so patient!! Dr mike did a fabulous job and my daughter's smile is so beautiful! Went here got the run around still waiting on a call back for a "quote from my insurance" I have saw and had my procedure done by another office (whom may I add had my quote back in 1 week) never saw this supposed Dr, Callia saw some other younger male "Dr. Mike" made me feel judged and berated. (Whom I might add is NOT LISTED AS STAFF ON THE WEBSITE AFTER FURTHER REVIEW) Was told I would have to pay a few thousand dollars to have someone who knew CPR sit in on my procedure.. Followed up with them to get answers more than they followed up with me all I'm saying is if your in bussiness and sombody is looking at paying you a couple THOUSAND dollars for service you should be a lot more interested in following up with them.. I was told by another practice I needed 5 gum grafts. They provided minimal information and scheduled the procedure. I didn't feel comfortable going through with the procedure and researched for a new Periodontist. I found Dr. Desai's good reviews and scheduled a consultation. The office staff were very nice and calming. The salt water aquarium also added to the calm environment. Dr. Desai was amazing. He has a wonderful "chairside" manner. After completing an exam I only needed 2 gum grafts. The procedure went well. The follow up appointments were reassuring to me that everything was healing properly. I was referred to CTP by my regular dentist for a tooth extraction, oh boy what fun! I was pretty apprehensive when I went into the office but the staff was very accommodating and helpful. Dr. Desai explained the procedure in depth and when he was done, the staff had a printout detailing the charges for the procedure. I went in a couple of weeks later for the procedure and it couldn't have gone better. Everything was explained prior to the surgery and Dr. Desai and the staff kept asking me if I was ok or had any questions. An extremely transparent procedure. It's been a week now and I feel great! There is no soreness in my jaw and everything appears to be healing just fine. Although who likes to have a tooth pulled, my sincere thanks Dr. Desai and staff for a smooth procedure. This dentist office lies and does bad billing issues. We had a lot of dental work done we were not happy with. After telling them we would not be back they send another bill telling us we are not on your insurance now so we need more money. Excellent doctor and staff in Pflugerville. This was my first experience with a periodontist. I had to have a bone graph in preparation for implants and the procedure was nearly pain free. Alex explained the post-op procedures very well and provided detail instructions so all my questions and concerns were answered. Dr. Callia also expained the detailed procedure and made sure that I was comfortable and felt little pain. Chi was very efficient and helped me with insurance claims and appointments. I was referred to Central Texas Periodontics by my regular dentist last year (2015) The office is very nice, warm and inviting. The complimentary beverages and lovely fish tank creates a positive first impression. I've visited their office several times, and by the look of their equipment, their technology is modern as well. My referral to CTP is the result of bone loss below the gum line. I have deep pockets around my teeth that allows bacteria to become trapped and eat away at my jawbone. Since bone doesn't grow back naturally, I was looking at losing my lower right teeth! After the normal round of periodontal cleanings that I get every 6 month, it was determined that I needed more advanced treatment. In order to SAVE MY TEETH, and the cost of implants ($$$$$), Dr. Desai recommended a procedure referred to as Osseous Surgery. This involves cutting a flap, cleaning below the gum line and grafting bone material. The procedure went well, but to be fair and giving an honest review, he is not the one you want starting your IV. I was very patient and eventually he was able to find a vein and get the IV started. Following the procedure, they have been on top of my recovery and I feel satisfied with the results. It's only been eight months since the procedure, yet I'm already happy with the results. This area of my mouth is much easier to keep clean and it looks like I'm going to be able to keep all of my teeth. Jen, their office manager, is pleasant and professional as is their entire staff. This is not my first encounter with a periodontist, as I've been dealing with periodontal issues for about 15 years. In comparison to others, I would definitely recommend Central Texas Periodontists. I can't say enough good things about our experience today with the facility and in particular Dr. Desai. My daughter was terrified of her procedure today but he calmed her down, even got her a big fluffy blanket and covered her up like I'm sure he would do with his own child. The front receptionists even calmed mommy down and offered me water. I think I might have been more upset than her. Then tonight he texted me to check on her. I was referred to The Central Texas Periodontics office when my current dentist was unable to extract a tooth. After the first dentist worked for about 1 1/2 extremely painful hours trying to deaden the area and then trying to pull the tooth without success she got me an emergency appointment with this office. The Central Texas Periodontics office saw me the same day, took care of the insurance and was able to deaden the area and extract the tooth quickly. I did not even realize the tooth was out until Dr. Mike advised me that it was removed. The entire staff was extremely professional, assured me they would take care of the problem tooth and they did very quickly.
