I have been going to Dr. Jones' office since 2019 and all has gone well. The staff have all been very nice and helpful and professional. I signed up for his dental plan which currently costs $41 per month and seems well worth the cost given the benefits provided. Dr. Jones is a perfectionist when it comes to filling cavities and I can report that I have had no problems in the last 3 years with my fillings. My last 2 visits I have seen his new dentist, Dr. Melwani, and I give her high praise also. Both Dr. Jones and Dr. Melwani minimize the pain the patient feels. This is not a reflection of the people at this office who are very nice. Their process on pricing disclosure however is lacking. After a couple of visits and thinking I had paid in full for my deep cleaning I received another bill in the mail for an additional $898.20. This is after I had paid them $518 during my visit and they collected $360.80 from my insurance company. Yes that is $1777 for a deep cleaning done over 2 visits. Sounds a little steep. I wanted to write this review as a warning to other potential patients about the people who run this dental office. I have never left a review on Yelp before, but I feel I have a responsibility to let others know how this office behaves acts to save customers from a terrible experience. To keep things simple: I initially had a good experience as a patient of Dr. Jones himself. However, when I tried to help a friend of mine with a dental emergency, I was both lied to and dismissed by Mrs. Debbie Jones, the practice administrator. My friend had a crown come off and was in a great deal of pain. After being told on the phone by the scheduling woman on Tuesday July 20 that Dr. Jones would be able to see my friend the next day, I never heard from the office with a confirmed time. We then took off from work Wednesday to go into the office the next day, but no one picked up the phone nor called me back, even though their message said they were working. Wondering what was going on, I went to Dr. Jones' office in person on Thursday. After explaining to the receptionist that I was following up on the appointment, Debbie Jones came out and met me. She claimed they left me a message on my voicemail, but I never received any message. The receptionist said she heard my name on the voice mail, but my name isn't on my voicemail. Mrs. Jones did not apologize for not following up, but instead rudely said that we had canceled an appointment last year. I honestly was shocked, as the previous year was the Covid year, we had given 24 hour notice, and I had since come in for a visit. I also explained that both my friend and I had come to Dr. Jones because we were interested in having cosmetic dentistry done in the future, in addition to the annual check up and cleaning. Mrs. Jones dismissively told me that the next appointment that they could see my friend was in August. Again, I do not know what was causing such an aggressively rude manner, and I thought maybe there was a misunderstanding. I explained again that my friend had a dental emergency to which Mrs. Jones stated flatly that August was the best they could do, clearly indicating that they did not want our business. I still don't understand her incredible rudeness, and we lost a day of work because of the offices lack of follow up. However, beyond that, I cannot standby and have someone lie to my face, not take responsibility for not following up and, most importantly, refuse to help a patient during an emergency. Never in 30 years have I had someone in a dental office act this way, and I would hate to have other people who might be in a lot of pain or need an emergency treatment be lied to, ignored, and dismissed. read more

Had an absolutely great first visit here today. Office was efficient and well-run, and everything was running right on time. Really appreciated the early morning appointment times as well, which meant I didn't have to miss work. I had been previously just getting the cheapest cleanings I could find, but it was time to find a real dentist and someone I want to work with for years to come. Dr. Jones spent a full hour with me in the initial visit, not just looking at my teeth (which he had some really cool tools for), but also assessing my jaw, bite, and any chance of sleep apnea, snoring, or TMJ issues. I did have two cavities that need filling, and he spent the time with me explaining exactly why they were an issue. Even more impressively, there was another area that was either a cavity or on it's way to being one - when he told me that, I was willing to have him do a filling on that one too, but he said he'd rather wait and see. Just really appreciate his honesty and focus on the patient, rather than (like some other dentists I have been too) simply recommending whatever would generate the largest cost. It doesn't hurt that his office has a great view, and the hygienist was considerate and as gentle as she could be with a non-flosser like me. They are a 45 minute drive from my house, but definitely worth the trip - can't recommend highly enough. read more

I had a great experience, always felt welcomed, and enjoyed his staff and beautiful office. Fast forward 3 to 5 years. I had once again moved to a different state, then moved back to California. When I returned I was having terrible jaw pain that would make me miss work or be unable to talk at some points. My family again suggested I reach out to Dr. Jones. I am so grateful that I did. He has been amazing: from the diagnosis, to the coordinating care with my general practitioner, to the fitting and re-fitting of a brace. I saw Dr. Jones, and his wonderful team, as a new patient in his office today. My first impression upon walking in was great, and it's clear that someone with an aesthetic eye designed the office. I was greeted warmly by my name and only had to wait 3-4 minutes before I was greeted by Dr. Jones. He was very kind and explained everything that he was doing. He walked me through the x-rays, imaging, and scans that were performed, completed a comprehensive exam, and gave me good advice on how to address the priority issue that he saw. Afterwards, I met with Ally, the dental hygienist. She was so nice and great to talk with and it was the first dental cleaning that I enjoyed. One thing that I learned about Dr. Jones is that he has a passion for disease prevention, not only for disease of the mouth, but he is well-versed in the oral-systemic connection and how good oral health can play a causal role in preventing the inflammation that can lead to a heart attack or other diseases. This is the best dentist and office that I have ever been too! I have been going to Dr. Jones for 18 plus years. He is honest, meticulous, knowledgeable, patient, friendly and just does beautiful work! I not only have had my teeth cleaned here (the hygienists are great), but I have also had cavities filled, crowns put on, and bonding done. The office is beautiful, and it's an added plus that if you look out the window in some of the rooms you can see the ocean while you're getting your teeth done! As many of you can relate, I was a bit skeptical to go to the dentist during this covid pandemic. I badly needed my teeth cleaned so I ventured out last week to Dr. Jones's office. I was so surprised to see that they have gone above and beyond to make sure the office was extra clean, and that his patients would be protected. They are even having the chairs in the reception area reupholstered with material that can be sanitized and wiped down! Also, everyone in the office wears ear pieces to communicate.... so no two patients will be in the same proximity of each other. This is my first change in dentists in 32 years and I thought I was spoiled before. Everyone at Dr. Jones office was so kind and thoughtful. I was quickly given an appointment and filled out the new patient forms. I came in for my appointment and was greeted warmly. Soon thereafter Dr. Jones came to get me and they took me to the exam room where they took a full set of digital x-rays, thereafter Dr. Jones dictated to his assistant his examination of my teeth one by one. I was then taken by the hygienist where she did her own dictation and examination of my teeth and gums. The cleaning was a breeze and I've always been a bit apprehensive because I have several areas of sensitivity around the gum line. She did an excellent job and at no time was I jumping out of the chair. She did an excellent job cleaning my teeth and suggesting different toothpastes which are less abrasive than what I currently use. The office was bright and very modern with all updated equipment and comfortable chairs. I highly recommend that if you dental work to consider Dr. Jones and his very capable pleasant staff. read more
