Extremely unwelcoming & unprofessional lacks good leadership…read more We are part of the Pasadena community and were hoping to establish care for our dog at this clinic. Unfortunately, our experience left a very poor & unprofessional first impression. AFTER ALL WE ARE PAYING FOR A SERVICE!! Upon arrival, we encountered a sign at the front desk that was extremely condescending and immediately gave the impression of a business more interested in enforcing rules than treating patients with respect. There is a 10-minute grace period that is not clearly communicated beforehand, and if you are even slightly late, the clinic threatens to cancel your appointment and charge a late fee. We were only about five minutes late due to a long line and parking delays, yet we were told our appointment was canceled and a late fee would be applied. The staff at the front desk were dismissive and RUDE AF!!!! , particularly one woman who seemed to enjoy asserting power over patients. She even hung up abruptly on a caller saying, "I'll call you back, I'm busy." When we requested to speak to the manager, the response was only slightly better, still condescending, and we were reprimanded for explaining the situation. It felt very much like being treated as children rather than valued clients. For a clinic that presumably cares for animals, this lack of empathy, patience, and basic courtesy was courtesy was shocking. If you're treating your HIGH PAYING CLIENTS THIS BAD!? HOW ARE YOU TREATING OUR BELOVED ANIMALS? YIKES. The behavior at the front desk, combined with the aggressive sign, makes it very difficult to feel comfortable or welcome. We hope the owners and doctor are made aware of this, as staff attitude can seriously affect a clinic's reputation and patient loyalty. We are reconsidering whether to continue using this clinic and strongly encourage owners particularly more than poor management to retrain front desk staff on professionalism and compassion. Patients who spend significant amounts on pet care deserve to be treated with respect and understanding (especially during their first visit) Once this behavior is put on social platforms such as Yelp, Google. Even tik tok you will suffer greatly by allowing your front desk to abuse your clientele? What an absolute embarrassment. Take your disgusting signs down before you go viral.

I paid at the end, the receptionist called the team to confirm nothing else was needed on my end, then I left. The next day, I was notified that they forgot to charge me an additional fee from USDA, and was told that had I responded to Rosey's messages prior to our appointment "I would have known that". I triple checked our text chain, phone log, emails, and even PetDesk - none of which have anything from Rosey before our appointment on 3/3. Naturally, I questioned the additional charge (there was already a USDA fee that I paid for on the original invoice) and mentioned that I had no correspondence from Rosey leading up to the appointment. I received such a condescending and accusatory email back from her and was essentially told she would not help me in the future. I'm still waiting to connect with management and share screenshots showing that Rosey never reached out to me before our appointment. I completely understand that mistakes happen and I would have been fine to pay the additional fee. However, I don't stand for gaslighting and false accusations.

He asked us to hold her down as he put in an IV for her so that he could inject her with the euthanasia medicine. Something I thought and was hoping would be peaceful experience was one of the most traumatic things to have witnessed in my life. The memory of her screaming and fighting and in so much pain and fear was not how I would have wanted her to spend her last minutes on Earth. Her face was frozen in sheer terror as the euthanasia medicine was injected into her IV and that was the last image that I have of her. This experience left me with a lot of guilt and regret and anger. How he handled this procedure made a difficult thing even worse. I will never take my pets here. They need to do better and be more mindful and careful for loving pet parents who are already going through such a difficult time. And, to anyone thinking of putting your pets down at this organization, do your research and advocate for yourself and for your pets and don't do anything you are not comfortable doing. Dr. Chen also recently mis-diagnosed one of my mom's cats last month. He diagnosed Oreo with cancer and was waiting for my mom to give the "ok" to start giving him steroids. Luckily, we have a family member who is a critical care veterinarian and, after testing and ultrasound, discovered that Oreo is actually in heart failure, in which case steroids would have been harmful to his condition. Seriously, he needs to do better!! Be more careful!! Do your due diligence. Not everyone has the luxury of having a family member who is a vet or who can afford to get a second opinion. He really needs to be careful. Let this be a PSA to pet parents who are considering having this establishment treat your pets.

We came on a Friday and had to do a blood panel for our cat but the clinic was closed the next day. However, Dr. Z still went out of his way to call me, on his day off (Saturday), to let me know what the results to the tests were. He could've easily told me on Monday, but wanted to quell my worries and you genuinely don't find people like that anymore. I can attest with my whole heart that this clinic genuinely loves your pets like their own. The front desk receptionist made us feel so welcomed and really understood what we were going through. The vet tech was so incredibly kind and even trimmed our cat's nails without charging us when he had to be sedated to get his blood drawn. She was so, so sweet and even after we decided our next course of action, popped back in to say, "Aren't you happy he could get the surgery?!" I could tell that she really cared about the wellbeing of my cat and how I felt in that moment. Originally, we were afraid that we'd have to put him down due to a massive growth on his toe that we were afraid was cancer. Thankfully, Dr. Z and his team did not give up on our baby! I just can't put into words how grateful we are. Every single person was so incredibly kind and understanding. This vet clinic is a gem, truly.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Emergency Pet Hospital of Glendora…read more Friday night was one of the most stressful nights I've experienced as a pet owner. My Frenchie was having her first litter, and things became very chaotic very quickly. On the way to the hospital, she had her first puppy right there in the front seat of my truck! When we arrived, I called to let them know what was happening, and they were kind enough to come outside and help bring her and her newborn puppy inside. From that moment on, I felt like she was in good hands. The staff was incredibly welcoming, gentle, and compassionate. They knew how to keep me calm without overwhelming me with how serious her C-section was. I was scared and had so many questions, but someone was always there to explain the process and talk me through what was happening. There was honestly no wait time, they took her in right away. I also really appreciated how comfortable they made me feel discussing the cost of everything. I never felt pressured or like I was being pushed to make a decision based on money. Everything was explained clearly, and I felt respected throughout the entire experience. My Frenchie is now home recovering, and I'm so grateful to everyone who took care of her and her puppies. Thank you for being so kind, patient, and compassionate during what was an incredibly scary night for me. I truly appreciate everything Dr. Roy & team did for my girl.

This review has taken me some time to post because it has been a difficult situation to process. We…read moretook our 6 year old otherwise healthy Labradoodle in due to extreme lethargy and swelling. Intake was fine, but that was the only part of the experience that was. Our dog was taken away for testing and we were left to fill out paperwork. While we were doing that, another patient was trying to make payment for their dog's sudden euthanasia. His card was not working and he was offering alternate ways to pay with no real help or feedback from reception. He felt a bit panicked...his significant other was crying in the exam room while the fact that his card declined had become a very public discussion in the lobby. While we were there an owner came in with a dog that had been hit by a car and another owner came in with a pet with a snake bite. Both were visibly rattled. I had to help one of the owners fill out the intake paperwork, as no help was offered. While we have a dog being put to sleep in one room, two frantic owners in the lobby, and me anxiously awaiting test results, the two people at the front desk talked about their weekend plans and laughed. This went on the entire time I was in the lobby. We were taken to an exam room. The doctor could not pull up the xray images. After waiting for some time, my nerves were frazzled and I ask that she simply dictate what she found, as we did not need visuals. She denied my request and left for 15-20 minutes while trying to figure out how to get the results sent to the correct computer. That wait was horrible as we had absolutely no clue as to what was going on. She finally returned and told us that there was an issue with our dog's spleen and that the surgery would be $8,000 and "probably not worth it." The other options were to take her home and simply wait for natural death, take her home with Chinese herbs that would help death come sooner but not ease the pain, or put her to sleep. At that time I asked my husband to bring our children down to say goodbye. Understand, that morning we left for work with a perfectly healthy (so we thought) 6 year old dog and this decision was absolutely unexpected. After waiting an eternity, the tech came in and administered the medication that caused her breathing to slow and eventually stop. We never saw the doctor after our decision was made. No one offered condolences or their expressed regret that we had such a heavy experience. In fact, though there were signs on two doors that said "please be quite, someone is saying goodbye to a loved one" we walked out with red, swollen faces to staff still cracking jokes behind the desk. It felt surreal. Sometime later a voicemail was left letting me know her remains were ready for pick up. Before I could call back, they placed a second call. Quite frankly, I wasn't ready to take that call knowing what it was about, but I answered. The person on the other end was very matter of fact and ended the conversation saying that if I don't come by the end of the week my dog's remains would "be disposed of." Mind you, this is the first time their office ever talked to me...it isn't like months or even weeks had passed since I was given this information. Additionally, my dog's cremation was a service that I paid several hundreds for. To act like they were doing some favor by holding her 5" x 7" box in their office until I could pick her up was unacceptable and cruel. Over the years I have had many pets that passed and I have never, ever experienced such treatment. I, unfortunately, have to drive by this location daily and every time I do I think back to the poor treatment we experienced from the time we checked in until we picked up our dog's remains. I write this as a word of caution because I would genuinely hate for another pet loving family to ever experience this.

It used to feel more like a family there. Now, they hardly speak to you, and you just sit there until they take you back. Everything is almost sterile. The emergency vet we saw a couple years ago was a warmer and more caring environment. I like that they have updated the exam rooms and facilities and they use a website that has a booking feature, which is convenient, but they are REALLY expensive. We thought it was expensive after his last wellness exam, but he really needed to get in to see someone, and we thought, "Why not stay where he has been since he was a puppy?" We just took him in for a vet tech appointment to renew his prescription. They said it would be an easy and quick appointment to get labs done. He also needed to do his updated rabies shot. The total was over $500. Even his prescription with them was $70 for a monthly supply of gabapentin. We did that twice before a friend of mine recommended using Chewy instead. We pay $4.80 for a month's supply (60 pills) of the same medication. The vet was nice when we met with her. She was kind to our very shy senior dog, but despite thinking she was great, it isn't enough to keep us at this veterinarian any longer.

They were wonderful. When they changed hands, I knew the new clinic would have big shoes to fill, but I was hopeful. They reopened in late 2025/early 2026 under new management. I am no longer hopeful. On my first visit a couple of months ago, not only was I left waiting for 30 minutes with an anxious dog in a completely empty clinic, but the hard-sell for services that I did not need was, to say the least, aggressive. When I asked what medical indication the vet had for her recommendations, she were not able to give a medically sound reason (she basically said "because I said so."). I decided to give them a second chance today with another vet in the practice. After 20 minutes waiting, again, with an anxious dog, I asked the receptionist when the vet would be in. She checked with the doctor, came in, and said momentarily as she was finishing her notes. I have no problem with that (because doctor), but does it need to be during my appointment time, when she is already late, and there is not a single other client in the building? After another 20 minutes without a word (so we're at 40 total) I got up and left. It was simply unfair to leave my dog in that anxious state. I will not be back. They are 0 for 2. Although the receptionist tried her best, I will also say they have her alone doing the job of what used to take 3 receptionists in the old clinic, so I have no idea how she is managing. Clearly customer service (between the dearth of staff and excessive wait times) is not their priority. I hate leaving negative reviews but I want my vet to care about my pet, not profit. I assume many of you feel the same.
