I paid at the end, the receptionist called the team to confirm nothing else was needed on my end, then I left. The next day, I was notified that they forgot to charge me an additional fee from USDA, and was told that had I responded to Rosey's messages prior to our appointment "I would have known that". I triple checked our text chain, phone log, emails, and even PetDesk - none of which have anything from Rosey before our appointment on 3/3. Naturally, I questioned the additional charge (there was already a USDA fee that I paid for on the original invoice) and mentioned that I had no correspondence from Rosey leading up to the appointment. I received such a condescending and accusatory email back from her and was essentially told she would not help me in the future. I'm still waiting to connect with management and share screenshots showing that Rosey never reached out to me before our appointment. I completely understand that mistakes happen and I would have been fine to pay the additional fee. However, I don't stand for gaslighting and false accusations.

Unfortunately, our experience left a very poor & unprofessional first impression. AFTER ALL WE ARE PAYING FOR A SERVICE!! Upon arrival, we encountered a sign at the front desk that was extremely condescending and immediately gave the impression of a business more interested in enforcing rules than treating patients with respect. There is a 10-minute grace period that is not clearly communicated beforehand, and if you are even slightly late, the clinic threatens to cancel your appointment and charge a late fee. We were only about five minutes late due to a long line and parking delays, yet we were told our appointment was canceled and a late fee would be applied. The staff at the front desk were dismissive and RUDE AF!!!! , particularly one woman who seemed to enjoy asserting power over patients. She even hung up abruptly on a caller saying, "I'll call you back, I'm busy." When we requested to speak to the manager, the response was only slightly better, still condescending, and we were reprimanded for explaining the situation. It felt very much like being treated as children rather than valued clients. For a clinic that presumably cares for animals, this lack of empathy, patience, and basic courtesy was courtesy was shocking. If you're treating your HIGH PAYING CLIENTS THIS BAD!? HOW ARE YOU TREATING OUR BELOVED ANIMALS? YIKES. The behavior at the front desk, combined with the aggressive sign, makes it very difficult to feel comfortable or welcome. We hope the owners and doctor are made aware of this, as staff attitude can seriously affect a clinic's reputation and patient loyalty. We are reconsidering whether to continue using this clinic and strongly encourage owners particularly more than poor management to retrain front desk staff on professionalism and compassion. Patients who spend significant amounts on pet care deserve to be treated with respect and understanding (especially during their first visit) Once this behavior is put on social platforms such as Yelp, Google. Even tik tok you will suffer greatly by allowing your front desk to abuse your clientele? What an absolute embarrassment. Take your disgusting signs down before you go viral.

It's been six years since I lost my beloved Cody, but the pain -- and the regret -- remain just as fresh. Cody was the smartest and most intuitive dog I've ever known. He understood human conversations, played fetch on his own, and was always gentle with other dogs. He wasn't just a pet -- he was family. We brought Cody to Petcare Animal Hospital after our original vet became seriously ill and had to stop practicing. This clinic was highly recommended in local Facebook groups, so we made an appointment with Dr. Wang. I trusted him based on those glowing reviews. At the appointment, the doctor told us Cody seemed to have a minor neurological issue, but nothing serious. He said with a few days of medication and rest, Cody should be fine. That gave me hope -- but in hindsight, I believe it was a severe misjudgment. At our very first visit, Dr. Wang prescribed steroids and antibiotic for Cody -- without doing any blood work or checking his liver enzymes. No one explained the risks. No one offered any testing. As a client without medical training, I relied on their professional judgment. Shortly after taking the medication, Cody's condition rapidly worsened. We rushed him to East Valley Emergency Clinic, where two emergency vets immediately questioned the treatment plan. They were stunned that steroids had been prescribed without any prior bloodwork, especially in an older dog. Cody's liver enzymes had spiked to over 5,000. He passed away within hours. What made it worse was the response -- or rather, the lack of one. Dr. Wang never contacted me personally. Another vet from the clinic called to respond on his behalf, saying: "The textbook doesn't say you need blood work to prescribe steroids." That left me speechless. Is that really the standard of care here? Let me be clear: I never cut corners when it came to my dogs' health. They ate fresh organic meals. I spent over $10,000 building them a safe and happy environment. I've paid tens of thousands in vet care, including cancer treatment for another senior dog. I would have gladly paid for a full diagnostic workup -- if only it had been offered. But it wasn't. Cody might still be alive today, had they run basic labs. But they didn't. And I live with that "what if" every single day. This experience broke my heart and shattered my trust. All I received was a $90 cremation refund and no accountability. If you love your pet like family -- please be cautious. Ask questions. Don't assume the clinic is doing everything they should, even if they come highly recommended. I wish I hadn't.

I'll be taking all 4 cats and husky to Dr. K now. From my experience with other vets and Dr. K, I can tell that Dr. K really cares about the pets, and it's not just another dollar sign in his eyes. He is very knowledgeable and takes his time to explain things to you. I don't feel rushed when I'm talking to him. Other vets I've talked to, I feel that they just want to give my pets treatment, and want me to leave asap so they can get to the next patient/$$$ in their pockets. I did not feel this at SGAH. My cat was in for surgery, and after I dropped her off at 8:00 AM, I didn't hear back all day, even past their closing time of 6:00 PM. I was worried that something may have gone wrong. I received a call a couple of hours after they closed, telling me that they decided to perform the surgery on my cat at the very end of the day, so Dr. K can make sure he is not rushed, and doesn't miss anything. Unfortunately, he said my cat's vitals were dropping during the surgery, and he had to close up my cat asap. He got a biopsy of the liver, which was the primary goal, but he also wanted to check out other things, like the gallbladder, while he was in there, but he didn't have enough time since my cat's vitals were dropping during surgery. I'm glad that my cat survived the surgery. I feel that if my other vet performed this surgery, my cat would not have made it out alive. Dr. K was at SGAH performing surgery on my cat a couple of hours past their closing time (even some of his staff were there until 8:30 PM! when I picked up my cat). This right here says that he cares about your pets as just as much as you do. If not, he would have either rushed surgery or postponed it until the next day, etc. This shows that Dr. K doesn't clock out when 6:00 PM hits. He is there until all of his obligations for that day are completed. I'm grateful for Dr. K and the staff. Dr. K is very knowledgeable, friendly, and compassionate. His staff is also knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. SGAH's rates are very fair and reasonable, which is why they are always busy!

We came on a Friday and had to do a blood panel for our cat but the clinic was closed the next day. However, Dr. Z still went out of his way to call me, on his day off (Saturday), to let me know what the results to the tests were. He could've easily told me on Monday, but wanted to quell my worries and you genuinely don't find people like that anymore. I can attest with my whole heart that this clinic genuinely loves your pets like their own. The front desk receptionist made us feel so welcomed and really understood what we were going through. The vet tech was so incredibly kind and even trimmed our cat's nails without charging us when he had to be sedated to get his blood drawn. She was so, so sweet and even after we decided our next course of action, popped back in to say, "Aren't you happy he could get the surgery?!" I could tell that she really cared about the wellbeing of my cat and how I felt in that moment. Originally, we were afraid that we'd have to put him down due to a massive growth on his toe that we were afraid was cancer. Thankfully, Dr. Z and his team did not give up on our baby! I just can't put into words how grateful we are. Every single person was so incredibly kind and understanding. This vet clinic is a gem, truly.

He had been in a slow decline that suddenly turned rapid, and I knew we were at the end. What stood out most was the veterinarian's honesty. They checked his vitals, but we didn't pursue extensive diagnostics. Instead, he spoke candidly about what he was seeing--neurologically, Baxter was not himself and had clearly lost significant muscle mass. At his age, there was likely more going on than one treatable issue. The veterinarian could have easily recommended a long list of tests. Instead, he gave me real guidance. When I asked what he would do if it were his own dog, he told me he would choose euthanasia at this stage, explaining that "a day or a week too early is better than a day too late" to avoid unnecessary suffering. I had been struggling with this decision for a while, and that honesty helped me feel confident I was doing the right thing. It meant everything. Once I made the decision, the compassion from the staff was incredible. They handled everything with such care, dignity, and kindness. I've also been here before when Baxter was first diagnosed with heart failure, and had the same experience. The veterinarian literally told me it wasn't an emergency and that I could either proceed with treatment there or follow up with my regular vet the next day and save the cost of emergency care. That level of transparency really stuck with me. I'm truly grateful for this team and this office. If you're ever in a difficult situation with your pet, this is a place where you'll receive honest, compassionate care--not pressure to run unnecessary tests or take advantage of a vulnerable moment. Five stars, without hesitation.

It used to feel more like a family there. Now, they hardly speak to you, and you just sit there until they take you back. Everything is almost sterile. The emergency vet we saw a couple years ago was a warmer and more caring environment. I like that they have updated the exam rooms and facilities and they use a website that has a booking feature, which is convenient, but they are REALLY expensive. We thought it was expensive after his last wellness exam, but he really needed to get in to see someone, and we thought, "Why not stay where he has been since he was a puppy?" We just took him in for a vet tech appointment to renew his prescription. They said it would be an easy and quick appointment to get labs done. He also needed to do his updated rabies shot. The total was over $500. Even his prescription with them was $70 for a monthly supply of gabapentin. We did that twice before a friend of mine recommended using Chewy instead. We pay $4.80 for a month's supply (60 pills) of the same medication. The vet was nice when we met with her. She was kind to our very shy senior dog, but despite thinking she was great, it isn't enough to keep us at this veterinarian any longer.
