I was in a position I wouldn't wish on anyone. Unable to take my rescue to a new state (fiance highly allergic), unable to rehome him, I knew ai could never abandoned at the pound, I looked into euthanasia at home. While they were not able to perform the service on a healthy animal, the level of care and compassion *I received from his office was absolutely on a level that touched and ... amazed (?) me at a time I was really kinda loosing it. All I can say is WOW and thank you. Universe aligned and my cat found a loving home, thank Goodness. I would recommend this vet service to anyone and EVERYONE. Prices weren't cheap, but fair and when you consider they come to you, worth EVERY PENNY and then some. read more

There is one reason I am giving this Mobile Vet Service a single star: They have UNVACCINATED assistants come into your home with Dr. Caubel - and they don't ask if that's ok prior, they don't tell you before they enter the home and I would never have known if I didn't ask. I asked her (Claudia) to put her mask on, said I should have been told prior and at least immediately upon me opening the door - especially since I am higher risk and cats can also get Covid! (I have a friend spending a fortune on experimental treatment to try to save her cat). When I said I was very uncomfortable with Claudia not being vaxxed (she smirked that it was her, "personal choice," which is such an ignorant, foolish and dangerous choice, especially when you work in a scientific field, go into people's homes, and should frankly know better. The response from the doctor was that they could leave (really?), but I needed my two cats checked since they hadn't been since the pandemic began. I asked Claudia to sit in the corner chair and to please not touch anything, which she only did after the doctor told her to do so (she didn't do it when I initially asked). She was not needed at all and did absolutely nothing during the appointment but write down a short list of foods the doc recommended, which I was already doing myself. I informed the doc that both my cats were very chill and I usually helped the vet when they needed to be held for shots (I don't even need to do that), but he insisted she stay. To say this is so completely irresponsible of both Claudia and Dr. Caubel would be an understatement. As I very much liked the doctor, I will likely not use the service again because they don't make me feel comfortable and didn't seem to care. No apologies, or "we should have asked or informed you...," nothing. Their judgement on this matter is highly disturbing. Shame on them. I mean really, shame on them both. By the way, there are other mobile vets who say on their Yelp pages and their websites that their staff members are all fully vaxxed - I wish I had thought to look for that, I guess I just figured a medical staff would have more common sense. The vet was extremely compassionate and told me what would happen throughout the visit. Amanda was great to work with in setting up Champ's appointment and establishing his new profile. She always followed up with any questions we had. I can't say enough good things about the entire team and of course, of Dr. Cauble himself. I always feel like I am getting the best treatment for my pets by people who genuinely care. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but having them come to my home to do check ups on all my animals in an environment that is comfortable to them, is worth it. Dr. always explains everything he's doing, and why, and conveys all the possible outcomes if there is an issue found. I have always felt in capable and caring hands with Mobile Vet Housecalls. The staff has always been so diligent and attentive with both me and my pets (shoutout to Amanda for always having to deal with me, lol). Dr. Cauble found some growths in my basset hound a few years ago during a standard exam. He performed a quick biopsy and we found out it was cancer. He promptly recommended me to a brick and mortar vet he felt would take care of it quickly. I'll start by saying I have never written a yelp review in my life. I felt so thankful and moved by Mobile Vet, I decided I had to write one. Our Labrador is older and has some back problems that flare up if he is overly active. But this time when his back issues flared up he barely moved for 3 days. We didn't know how to get him to our vet or an emergency vet because every time we tried to move him he would SCREAM in pain. Because of this he hadn't used the bathroom in over 24 hours. I decided to randomly google in home vets. After a bit of research I found this company and called sobbing. They were SO professional and SO kind. They only take new clients in an emergency capacity. And even though they were booked solid today they found a way to come out and help us on the spot. Our dog received excellent care and immediate medical attention to alleviate his pain. Dr Caubel Is wonderful! My golden retriever got really sick over the weekend, and I was unable to find a vet that would give me an appointment to see her, that is if I could even get her in the car, she's weighs about 100 pounds! I called Amanda the minute that they opened, explained to her what was going on with our Sophie, and she called the doctor right away to find out if he could fit us in for an emergency visit. Dr Caubel arrived 45 minutes later! He has a wonderful bedside manner, spent all the time that Sophie needed to get a thorough check. She needed a minor surgery, that he was able to perform at our house. He was able to get her on antibiotics and get her walking again. He was also able to vaccinate our other dog, due to Covid, I wasn't aware that I had let it lapse. He also spent time discussing her eating habits, putting her on a better diet, her exercise routine as she is nine years old. Is it a bit more expensive then going to a vet, sure, but I was having a bit of an emergency, so it was well worth the money:) read more

Inviting a Veterinarian into your home is supposed to alleviate stress for the pet being seen and the owner. Dr. Cauble held my sick cat rather rough while preparing her for blood to be drawn. It appeared to me that he was choking her. I could see the whites of her eyes and her tongue inside her open mouth, which was upsetting. I, almost crying, asked if he was choking her. He yelled at me, rather than explain what he was doing. He said something like, Jesus! It would make things easier if you'd let me do my job! He very easily could have shared his process and ease my fear. Instead, he snapped at me, while holding my sick cat. I believe he spoke to me this way because his assistant was outside at the time. He was visibly angry and went outside once he drew her blood. He never came back into the house. He let his assistant finish the process of payment. At the beginning of his assessment, Dr. Cauble told me my cat was dehydrated more than once. He never suggested IV fluids or told me how I might help her dehydration while waiting for the lab results. He didn't test her urine to further assess her kidneys. I believe his temper got the best of him and he left the house to cool off, as he apparently was having a bad day. I do not feel this company did right by my cat at all. A full week passed before he called with her results. I have so many feelings about how upsetting that day was and how my cat may have suffered due to his unprofessional tantrum. This is my one and only experience with Dr. Cauble and it was a regrettable one. He did not treat my cat for mites (the reason why I called him in the first place). They offer a 5% discount for paying cash. I paid cash but didn't realize I paid the full price until the next day. I asked for a the 5% ($60) back, they refused, offering only a credit moving forward. I also paid for a fecal analysis, it's been seven weeks without results. Finally, Dr. Cauble has yet to call in a refill for a prescription refill he prescribed despite reaching out to his office multiple times. I don't know if this is a grift or incompetence or a combination of both but if you love your animal, if you even like your animal, find another vet. read more

Several weeks ago in the midst of a heartwrenching time with our sweet 15 year old dog, we knew he had come to the end of his life. We made the decision to have a vet come to our home so that our little guy could pass in his favorite spot-the garden. Dr Cauble saves even the tiniest creatures - my senior budgie (8 years old) was in a terrible state, She had started a hard molt and was vomiting, so she stopped eating or drinking. I called for an emergency visit and he diagnosed a liver infection, based on her condition, her lowered white cell count and her bright green poop. Dr C and his team pushed intravenous fluids, tube fed her a meal of baby bird mush, and gave me antibiotics to give her one drop two times a day. He was honest with me as well - he said because of her extremely small size, advanced age, and poor condition, she could very well pass away at any time, from something as simple as the stress of being force-fed. I am happy to say that she is back to her usual antics of shirt collar mining, living room fly-bys and spontaneous cheep-fests, her appetite is as strong as it has ever been, and her poop is what it should be. Late Sunday evening, I requested for an appointment for my Golden Chow dog who was having skin problems on his belly and behind, eye mucus, and needed nail trimming. This dog is 80 pounds and I cannot get him into the car for the last time he had injured his hind leg trying to jump in the back seat. Enter, Mobile Vet, Dr. Chris Cauble who showed up on Wednesday to treat my dog. Dr. Cauble and his assistant handled my dog with care and was able to identify the skin issues, along with taking blood for a blood panel. He explained things thoroughly, offered suggestions, and called me the next day to go over the blood panel. I was so relieved to have someone come out to work with my dog in the home. I could tell that he really cares about animals and is very experience in exotic pets. I will continue to have him work with my dog. Highly recommend! read more

Simply put: stay away. These people are scammers and don't care about animals (or their customers) in the least. They schedule unnecessary visits, to create unnecessary bills. They misquote, only to find your bill more than double the original quote by charging for services you didn't need nor requested. They overcharge/price-gouge, they give poor and wrong diagnoses, and they are horrible communicators who miss their appointments. I cannot believe these people are in business, and in the business of caring for animals, no less. The people who gave the 2 stellar reviews are either employees or close friends/family. We called Dr. Cauble when we could not get our 13 yr old golden retriever into a car when he became very ill. They arranged their schedule so they could quickly come. Dr. Cauble & his assistant were so very kind. We had to put our beloved pet to sleep, but they gave us all the time we needed to love him & say goodbye. Now we have 2 golden retriever puppies & they love Dr. Cauble. He gets down on the floor with them and is like an old friend. No more trying to get them into the car, getting them out & into the vets with all the trauma (mixed-up leashes/unhappy dogs,etc) that goes with it. Before I decided to post my experience on yelp, I posted on r/AITA in case I was missing something. Spoiler alert: NTA so here is my cautionary tale for those who are considering Dr. Cauble. I made an appointment with Dr. Cauble for my dog's annual wellness and vaccinations because I liked the convenience of a vet coming to my home and being able to be with my dogs during the visit (as most clinics are now a drop off service due to covid). All went well leading up to the visit - it was easy to make an appointment and send over their records and although the prices are a little steep, that's the cost of convenience and I was willing to accept that. In general, Dr. Cauble has a friendly and patient demeanor and seems to enjoy discussing and explaining all things animal related, pointing out the pros and cons but ultimately leaving the decision up to you, judgment free on what you want to do. We discussed my initial request to do titers on the dogs instead of vaccinating them because I had some concerns about over vaccinating. Dr. Cauble explained that most annual dog vaccines are formulated to only provide immunity for 1 to 1.5 years unlike human vaccines which are mandated by the government to provide longer lasting immunity. After his explanation, I decided to go ahead with their annual vaccines which they were due for instead of doing the titers. Because I had provided their records in advanced, I assumed they would only be given the vaccinations they were due for. At the end of the visit while taking care of the bill with the vet tech, I saw that the dogs were given their rabies vaccine even though they were not due for them for another 1.5 to 2 years. When I pointed this out, the vet tech seemed a little flustered and went to double check with Dr. Cauble. She returned and said that one dog wasn't due yet (so they would not charge me) but the other was. When I pointed out in the records she had printed out and had on hand that my other dog also wasn't due yet, she then agreed to not charge me for either rabies vaccines. At this point, although slightly annoyed that my dogs were vaccinated early given my concerns for over vaccination to begin with, I was at least satisfied that they were doing the right thing by not charging me for their mistake. When I asked for a visit summary reflecting that they received their rabies vaccines so that I could update their records, Dr. Cauble refused to do so without payment for the vaccine and said that I should just have them vaccinated in 1.5 to 2 years when they were originally due (even though he had already given them the vaccine last week that's good for another 3 years). He further claims that there are no consequences to over-vaccinating (which is false) and accused me of trying to "capitalize" on his mistake (also false, the vaccines were given, just want documentation showing as such). We went back and forth a few times on emails but ultimately did not get anywhere. They even tried to put the blame on me for confusing the vet tech by saying I wanted to give them the vaccines (which apparently to her meant give them everything even if they're not due for it). Telling me to vaccinate my dogs early again because he doesn't want to document the mistake he made without payment makes me question his judgment and concern for my pets. I, personally, do not feel comfortable with his level of attention, integrity, and professionalism. Ultimately, the veterinarian is responsible for verifying that the medications and vaccinations administered are accurate and appropriate; every other clinic I've been to the vet will check the vaccine with the records before administering. Dr. Cauble just took the pre-filled syringes from his tech and administered them without checking. He may feel that early vaccinations are just a booster and can only improve immunity without consequence, but many other vets do not feel the same way and vaccinations do carry inherent risks. In the big scheme of things, it's not the biggest deal that they got their rabies vaccine early but it is a big deal for me that Dr. Cauble refuses to document it appropriately without full payment for his mistake and that he wants them to just get re-vaccinated early again to avoid having to complete the work caused by his mistake and it should make you hesitate that he allows such mistakes to happen in the first place. The takeaway I got from this whole experience is that Dr. Cauble places profit over clients/pets. Tldr - Dr. Cauble gave my pets vaccines they weren't due for, refuses to document that it happened without full payment for the vaccines, believes there are no consequences to over vaccination, and refuses to accept full responsibility for his mistakes. read more

I haven't updated this review until now for no better reason than it's painful to even write about, but when I finally decided that it was time to put down my beloved cat of 18 years, this team of professionals was unbelievably caring and amazing. YES, it was expensive. YES, it was worth every penny. I am shocked to read reviews that are not positive for this team. They were a vital part of my pet's care right until the end. I am not in any way affiliated with this vet - I simply appreciate the care they provided and have since moved to Northern California so have nothing to gain here. Also...Dr. Cauble and his team never suggested or encouraged me to put my cat down. Every pet owner is different and has to come to the decision that it's time to let their baby go in their own way. To see reviews that suggest that a vet should have or should not have suggested euthanasia is odd to me - you as a pet owner know it's an option, so own your own choices here, people. read more

Hands down, the best mobile vet service I have ever used. We have a very playful 85 lb. Lab and it's a workout to get him into a traditional vet office. He is also very allergic and there needs many appointments. Dr. Cauble and staff are professional, ethical and treating your pet like their own. they charged me 856.00 to give shots to a dying dog that I had to put to sleep the very next day. I love animals, I'd be happy to save a life but if the animal is not going to get better and just be in pain, why give him shots and let him stay in pain? I called my regular vets at the Studio City Animal Hospital. Crying about what was going on. They said that they would charge me less than the typical fee to see him and give him his rest. They also gave me the number to a Pet Taxi company. The lady there felt bad for me and said the Mobil Vet took advantage clearly for money. So she also helped me on the transportation price because of my situation. At my typical vet they examined him without making him scream or snarl like when the mobil vet touched him. She said he looked like he had a lot of serious things going on, plus a weak heart thats not good for surgery. That the skinniness most likely is cancer and that its also very painful. She said he may heal the hips but maybe already dying from other major issues. Together we both decided that this beautiful loving dog would have to be let go of and let him rest. Having cancer in the last stages is very painful. Now that its Monday the Mobil Vet called me back. Asked how the dog is doing. When I had already left a Voice mail saying that I was taking him to the other place and how they did wrong and that I put him to sleep which cost me more money the next day. When his health continued to deteriorate, dropping him off for another exam wasn't an option, and I was very worried. Thankfully I found Dr. Cauble. He provided a more comprehensive diagnosis than the previous vet, and he offered inexpensive treatment options that helped make my cat more comfortable. Mobile vets were able to squeeze me in for a same day appointment, my hedgehog needed to be put down due to ovarian/bladder cancer. My hedgehog was bleeding heavily and needed to be put out of her misery. They were able to accommodate and did a great job with my hedgehog. I was unable to get any other local exotic vets to see her earlier than Thursday, so being able to see them on Tuesday was a tremendous convenience. After reading the negative reviews, I have to say my experience was the exact opposite which makes me question the legitimacy of the negative reviews. They quoted me a higher price than what they actually charged and my hedgehog Gambi was able to be put out of her pain with dignity and love as the vets held her while she slowly passed. I can't be more appreciative of the quality of service Dr. Cauble and his team showed with my hedgehog. After my hedgehog passed, he was also able to confirm what I had suspected, as my hedgehog had a sizable mass/tumor on her right side, which was causing her to pass lots of blood in her urine. We have been using Dr. Cauble and the mobile vet team for close to 10 years now and we really love them. My husband and I tend to adopt older dogs and/or dogs that might need a little more care and Dr. Cauble has been great in helping us help our dogs age comfortably and keeping them healthy. Mobile vet has been there for us in the most difficult times at the end of days for our pups and most recently to welcome our two newest adoptees to the family. He always explains in detail what is going on with the dogs, what he is looking for and what we should be looking for with our dogs.
