Then for a couple months, I was getting 2 bills, one for the service I was getting before the switch, and one for the new u-verse. So I was being billed for the same services twice (internet and home phone) at 2 different prices. I took the matter to a supervisor and they fixed the problem immediately, the double bills stopped immediately, and they even refunded some of my money for the trouble. And even though the new u-verse cost more, they gave me a discount for the first year. Their excellent customer service made all the difference.

The contract takes away your right to sue the company and locks you into a 24 month contract. The cancellation fee is hundreds of dollars. And they certainly did do that. It seemed like every time I opened my bill there was some nonsensical increase without warning. I have now cancelled my cable TV to get my bill under control. So, what did I find when I opened my May bill... a combined increase of 25% for the Internet and phone. Just can't win...
