I took my 2009 BMW X3 to Mike that had overheated due to broken part at bottom of coolant overflow tank. First of all the day after I dropped my car off Mike called to say he had to leave town for an emergency. I can understand that so I waited for him the get back for 3 days. I was told I needed a water outlet and an upper radiator assembly. I agreed that both things could be replaced. The problem I am having is that the charges for the parts he put in are so high compared to what I found online I feel I got ripped off. $35 for a radiator cap which I don't think even needed to be replaced is ridiculous. The radiator assembly part at BMW was not even as much as I was charged. The car is fixed but I will not be taking my vehicles here again. I had my wife bring the car to a "friend of hers" after she hadn't returned home I checked the OnStar. That led me to the shop. I highly recommend this place. I appreciate the effort and work Michael puts in for his customers. He could have turned me away but he did not, instead he stayed late to work on my a/c and made sure to update me every step of the way. The price was unbelievably fair!!!! I was shocked. Great shop, Very impressed. I do all of my minor repairs myself, but when It's beyond me, I look for a reliable, honest mechanic. I found that in Michael, he got both of my vehicles fixed, one day after the other for a very reasonable rate. One vehicle needed a couple motor mounts replaced, the subframe needed to be dropped. And the other had a misfire that I could not figure out. He diagnosed the issue and had it running great the same day, again for a very fair price. I'll be recommending them to my peeps. read more

I've been building / restoring cars for decades & have even owned a few shops. Having said that, there are few mechanics or shops that impress me much. Michael was recommended by a trusted friend to do some engine work when my back problems prevented me from doing it myself. Note that it really bothers me to let someone near my cars! Trust was a major issue the first time. He got it right the first time, price was fair & above all he was honest! I've been going back ever since. It's really great to drop off your vehicle & know it's right when you get it back without the need to "check" or wonder if you over-paid. I found Michael's Auto Repair on the internet and read several positive reviews about his work. I called for a phone quote which he gave to me within an hour. It was a less expensive quote than my regular mechanic gave me. I decided to wait approximately a month before I decided to take my car to Michael's shop for a catalyst converter and he honored the original quote given to me. I took my car to his shop at 8am and it was finished by 2:30pm the very same day! I would highly recommend Michael. My car is like my baby! I've gone to this guy 4 times with some big problems and some little ones. My dad was always my mechanic until I moved to Arizona and when I called him one 115 degree day because my car wasn't feeling right when I started it, he googled a local mechanic and told me to go to Mike. Mike has always treated me fairly which is actually hard to find being a single female. His prices are fair and when I needed a check engine light taken care of to pass emissions he had me take it to get tested and told me to just return with payment once I had passed. He wasn't going to have me pay for the work that was done if the car didn't pass, since check engine light codes can sometimes be hard to diagnose. I love this place. The prices are reasonable. Michael is very honest and helpful. He spent extra time and went around to look for parts that would fit my car. He fixed my car for 1/6 of the price quoted by the dealer (and still used genuine Toyota parts bc no other after market brands fit). Being a woman who don't know about cars, I'm very glad that I found this place. For the first time I don't have to worry about auto shops trying to cheat me because I'm a female and not a car expert. Discovered a coolant leak a few weeks ago, and received two incorrect diagnosis before calling Michaels. Michaels was able to not only pinpoint the problem, but fixed it for a reasonable price in less than 24 hours. Now I have another broken part, so I plan to revisit Michaels for another repair. My previous mechanic had passed away and I was in search of a mechanic that was close by. Michael's is located in a "strip mall" of repair shops that is less than a mile for my home. I parked and was wandering in front of the various shops and Mike, even tho his shop was filled with cars, was the only one who came out and asked if he could help me. After introducing myself and explaining what I needed and taking a tour of the shop and seeing that they were capable of working on pretty much everything with wheels (a 50's model Chevy to what appeared to be almost-new cars were in the bays), I felt at ease with Mike and the other guys in the shop. We had an instant rapport. I won't say Mike and his guys are the best mechanics in the state or even in Peoria, because that may not be true. What I will say is Mike has always treated me fairly, delivered the work as promised and has NEVER found "hidden" parts that "absolutely had to be replaced". His labor rate is well within what other shops charge. The honesty and work ethic means a lot to me because I'm in property management and am always being asked by my tenants to recommend good plumbers, electricians and other professionals. I keep a supply of Mike's cards in my office and he is the only mechanic I recommend. To date, I've had ZERO negative remarks from people who have went there on my recommendation. If you are looking for an excellent mechanic who charges reasonable rates and stands by his work, then look no further. Michael is the best mechanic in the valley... hands down. I have an older vehicle and it's hard to find a good mechanic that will work on older cars and when I first visited his shop he told me and I quote. " I love working on cars and older cars". I like that he shows and explains exactly what's wrong if there is an issue. Very fairly priced and the three times my car has been there, it serviced fairly quickly so he knows what he is doing. I HIGHLY recommend this shop. I did some research (as you are doing now) before I took our vehicles over here for work. One of the reviews I read was from a guy that actually lived in another state and brought his vehicles here when visiting on business. just for routine maintenance. Wow!! That said a lot right there. So...I had work done on 2 VEHICLES, simultaneously, and they were BOTH done the same day. Michael is one of the last HONEST mechanics left. He explains, in detail, the work that needs to be done, and seems to shop around for the best price on the part that he needs to fix your car. He treats you like a person, instead of a job number or a price. He also took the time to talk to me enough to know what work I was willing/capable of doing myself to save me some money...and even described some of the steps to help me out. I mean, who does that??
