I first used Revive Auto Care to replace a control arm on my Infiniti QX60. I found them on Yelp, appreciated their positive reviews, and liked that they communicated over text. That repair went well, so when my AC started blowing hot air, I decided to return. They initially charged me $100 for diagnostics and a refrigerant top-off, then told me I needed a new compressor and quoted approximately $1,200. I dropped the vehicle off on Tuesday. By Wednesday and Thursday, they still had not identified the issue, but they continued replacing parts including the compressor, condenser with receiver drier, premium line kit, secondary rear AC expansion valve, blend door actuator, cabin filter, and recharged the AC system. By Friday, the vehicle was still not repaired, and they ultimately determined that the battery was bad and not providing enough amperage to properly run the AC system. They replaced the battery and told me the issue was fixed, which naturally made me question whether all of the previously replaced parts were actually necessary. The total had also increased to approximately $2,500, and at no point during the process was I contacted for approval on the additional repairs and charges. When I picked up the vehicle Friday evening, the AC was still blowing hot air. In addition, the vehicle was revving abnormally both while driving and while sitting in neutral. It is now Tuesday, and my messages have gone unanswered. On Saturday, I brought the vehicle to Infiniti for another opinion. I was told that the AC system had been overcharged by 1.73 lbs of refrigerant, which they said was causing the issues I experienced after picking the car up. I understand that diagnosing AC problems can be difficult and unexpected issues can happen, but the lack of communication, failure to request approval for major additional repairs, and returning the vehicle in worse condition than when it was dropped off made this a very disappointing experience.

My 2014 Jeep compass has had the check engine light on for a week, steering locked up last week, and has had delayed clicking start. Justin arrived, I gave him the full history of my vehicle (no problems for 10 years) and the issues occurring the last month or so which prompted the call. He started running tests, even drove the car around to see if he could replicate what I had been experiencing. About 30 minutes into the visit he said he couldn't replicate any of the issues; that's okay, as I mentioned it only happened about 50% of the time. But he sat in my car another 20-30 minutes or so, told me he had to call his boss because he was completely stumped. Not really what you want to hear, but even I started making suggestions of what it could be so he could at least do something for me. At the end of the visit he basically just said "sorry I have no idea what's wrong, maybe replace your battery?"... the only thing he found was a sensor on my engine needed replacement, but it's totally unrelated to the other issues. I ended up having to pay $150 for literally no better idea what's wrong with my car and not feeling any safer to drive it. It was a huge waste of my time and now I'm out $150, and I still had to take it to another shop that already figured out the problem not even 24 hours later. Save yourself some money and go to a real auto shop. I understand that some technicians may be learning or lack the knowledge to dive deeper, but someone should be going with them to assist so your customers aren't left feeling robbed and confused.

Unfortunately, the issue came back not long after. We then brought the car here based on the good reviews, hoping for a real solution. The mechanic said he inspected the car and couldn't find anything wrong except that I needed an oil change and "Honda-specific" spark plugs. He also cleared the dashboard settings, which we found extremely frustrating because that doesn't solve the issue--it just masks it temporarily. At that point, it was already done, and we couldn't reverse it. We went ahead and bought the spark plugs directly from Honda and had them replaced, even though the original ones weren't aftermarket or low quality. Surprise--same issue came back again. Whether it's "higher-end" spark plugs or not, my car continues to have the exact same problems. Honestly, I don't understand why that recommendation was made in the first place. We even spoke to friends who work at dealerships and Honda, and they confirmed that advice was completely inaccurate. The car might be running *slightly* better, but it's like comparing Pepsi to Coke--it's still the same drink. At the end of the day, nothing was truly resolved. At this point, it feels like this is just one of those issues no mechanic seems able to figure out. Disappointing experience all around. After the installation, I took my car for a ride and there were many warning lights on the dashboard. Not sure if they damaged all the sensors on the car but all the sensors are now giving me warning lights and these warning lights will not go away. If you have newer cars, DO NOT let these guys fix your cars. One of the mechanics was hitting the back rotor with a huge hammer very hard to get it off and must have damaged all the sensors, I guess. Another possibility is that the other mechanic was using an electric saw to cut off the dust covers and might have cut a cable to cause all the warning lights to show up on the dashboard. I sent them an email about all the warning lights but no response from them. They were able to install the 4 rotors and 4 calipers just fine but the brakes don't feel very tight and feel loose when hitting the brakes. I have to push the brake pedal almost all the way down to the floor in order to stop the car. I recommend these guys if you have older cars with no latest technologies.
