My boyfriend and his friends rave about this place, so it was only a matter of time until I went. We all came Friday night and it was packed (which was to be expected because apparently it's always busy). We took the first table available, which happened to be in the middle of the entry way. It was a rather odd placement, but it beat having to wait! Our server was prompt and immediately gave us water and menus. Since it was late, I opted for something light and chose the blackened white fish that came with rice pilaf and veggies. Score for being healthy and fitting my macros without having to substitute. My boyfriend got the hot wings and a gyro salad, while his friend got the chicken kebabs and a salad. Their food came first while mine came later. I sampled a piece of the gyro meat and it was quite tasty but had a taco flavor, which I found odd considering we were at a Greek restaurant! My dish was good. It wasn't that blackened but it was still seasoned well and had great flavor. The vegetables were a bit basic and could have used more seasoning. My MIL had a gift card and wanted to use it for lunch. Its a small corner neighborhood resturant. As you approach the resturant, that have a patio area for outside dining which is nice. The inside is pretty cramped and we had to squeeze through tables to get to ours (and we are small size). My MIL said her burger was really good and the Shrimp were huge and crispy. I wish it came with a bit more cocktail sauce. I really enjoyed the fries too. Our server was Michelle and she was not the best. The food was really good and delivered by another staff member. Usually when that happens, your server would come to see if anything additional is needed. Michelle did not. She only came when it was time to pay and leave. This is the reason for 4 stars. I would return but make sure we are not seated in her area. Also the parking from what I saw is street parking. We didn't have an issue due to lunch but it could be worse at night. read more

I keep hearing about Michael's French Onion Soup and had to try it. I started out however with a cup of the Clam chowder (The French Onion soup takes about 15 minutes to prepare.). It was really good. It was nice and thick and the clam pieces were tender and flavorful. It is served with a couple pieces of toasted bread that were nicely seasoned and went well with the chowder. The French Onion soup was outstanding. It was nice and dark (the way I like it). It also came with a couple of slices of the toasted bread. First time dining in at Michael's and I'll definitely be back. I've always gotten door dash so it was nice to see what the place looked like. It's sports bar vibes, clean and apparently always super busy- this day was not an exception. They also have a nice, private like patio that I'd like to go back and sit on. I ordered the Greek salad with chicken and a side of tzatziki sauce, and my mom ordered the wings. The salad is what I always get but it is so good. The grilled chucken is always cooked perfectly and it's served with warm pita. Definitely order the side of tzatziki for the pita- life hack. The wings were great too, good ranch! Always a good experience. Tonight we had Greek salads and chicken wings which is consistently good. We had with a glass or 2 of wine and followed with splitting a slice of carrot cake for dessert. Their desserts are wonderful! Not sure where they get them but nice selection of cakes and baklava but the portions sized are big enough to share. Service is always good for such a busy place! They don't take reservations, but we usually go early to beat the crowds. The ambiance is casual and noisy. It's a popular staple so it's always busy in the evenings and during the day on weekends. We would definitely go back! Parking is available on the street or in the lot across from the restaurant, which was convenient. We were seated right away downstairs. The only downside was the noise level--it was very loud, and at times we couldn't even hear the people sitting next to us. That was really the only negative of the evening. The service was top-notch from start to finish. The food was great overall. The French onion soup was phenomenal and definitely a standout. The crab cakes were just okay, but the salad was good. The cod, pork chop, and gyro were all very good. We also tried the burger--it had great flavor, though it was a little more charred on the outside than I prefer. Tonight was my very first time coming. It was super packed, the hostess told everyone it's a 20 min wait but it was really like an hour. They need a waiting area, it's VERY crowded and everyone is kinda standing around tables were people are eating. The waiting crowd is definitely in the way of the servers and everyone else. It's pretty much shoulder to shoulder. It would help tremendously by giving people buzzers or having a text service to text people when their table is ready. Once seated we were served our food pretty fast. Everything was good, I have no complaints. Our waitress was very professional and pretty quick meeting our requests. It is a bar and grill so it's pretty LOUD and hard to hear when the hostess call out names when the table is ready. I would visit again but maybe on a week day and earlier. This place has been around for years. A great neighborhood staple. They have wonderful Greek food and pretty darn good burgers. I opted for the cheddar burger and fries and it was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, nice and juicy with a big chunk of cheddar on top served with crispy wedge fries. The servers here are fantastic. They are very personable and most of them have worked here for years. It was a little chilly when we went, but they do have a good size patio and a good size bar area if you choose not to eat in the dining room. Very busy Friday evening about 630pm. We joined the wait line. About 10 mins later we were seated in the basement. Cool space and a little retro with the 90s Formica on the wood trimmed tables. We heard good things about the filets so we had 3 of them. They were all good for cost and establishment. All were a perfect medium rare. Our salads stole the show. Great mix of greens and veggies. Michael's has that soft cheddar to enhance that already good burger. The patty is not the smash type, it's the real deal. Bun stands up well to all the fixings included. I can't confirm it, but their crispy fries taste like it's been fried in bacon which is a bonus. Street parking. Busy any time of week, and anytime of the day, but they turnover tables relatively quick. Don't forget to look at their daily specials if you don't want burgers on every visit. Always fantastic. I've been going to Michael's all of my life. The food has always been fantastic and consistent. One of my favorites on the menu is the fried calamari. The lemon garlic aïoli is a must have. If you're old school, you gotta order the liver and onions. It's fantastic. The Greek salads are always perfect. The Gyro salad is great. The Gyro sandwich is great. The tilapia is great. There's nothing on the menu at Michael's that isn't fantastic. The beer is cold and the mixed drinks are solid. The crowd is great and not pretentious at all. Karens are not allowed. The prices are very reasonable as well.
