First time here. This is the best gyro deal I've ever had in St.Louis, it is not authentic though - they use meat mix. Meat is not spongy like others. Texture is more meaty. There was good amount of meat in our gyros and it comes with Cucumber yogurt sauce which was delicious as well. I was eyeballing those lemon cake slices but I was full. I will definitely come back for that - I heard good things about their lemon cake. Service was fast. Prices are great. This is a cute little humble restaurant with 3 tables inside and it looks clean. Food is great, you will not disappoint! Only negative feedback I'd give is baklava wasn't good, it tasted like some other dessert and it was dry. Somehow we were unaware of this gem in our neighborhood. Our first visit definitely put it on the map for us. The restaurant is clean and bright. The service is excellent; they were helpful and patient with us "newbies." After we ordered at the counter, food was delivered to our table quickly, and it was delicious! We also discovered that there's a cozy front dining area and a huge, also very comfortable, dining area toward the back of the building, so dine-in or to-go are both great choices. They make a very good gyro. Delicious meat and a very soft pita with excellent cucumber gyro sauce. One of the best in the city probably. Fries were pretty good too. People were friendly inside. Their baklava, however, was the worst baklava I've ever attempted to eat. The bottom was so soggy that I literally tried to use paper towels to sop up the liquid-ish sweet sauce that was holding it together. It's like they used simple syrup instead of traditional honey maybe - I'm not sure. Really regret buying 4 pieces since I threw them all straight in the garbage. read more

Had a hankering for a gyro this weekend while my boyfriend and I were out running errands on a dreary day. Searching on Yelp in the area for places that serve gyros, we came across the Gyro company. It had a very high rating with many of the Yelp Elite Squad reviewers. If it's good enough for the Elites, it's good enough for me! The Gyro Company is a tiny corner eatery in South City. If you're not familiar with South City, or don't frequent the area, you're going to feel a bit disoriented as it's in a bit of no-mans land. As in it's not in a neighborhood that is easily recognizable for its geography. While it's not that hard to get to from 55, it definitely feels as if the clientele they cater to is moreso the homes in the immediate area. We called ahead to place our order since they do not offer online ordering. The menu is fairly small, but how many ways can you serve a gyro?? I ordered the supreme gyro and my boyfriend ordered the gyro pizza. Since the prices were so incredibly reasonable, we decided to add the falafel appetizer and a side of fries. Personally I was a bit disappointed by the gyro pizza. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was basically the exact same thing that I ordered, except served in triangles instead of folded. The overall gustatory experience was acceptable. The Gyro Company offers gyro flavored gyros. Nothing flashy. Nothing to really get incredibly excited about. Just a straightforward gyro experience. The one thing that really bothered me was the fact that I asked for no onions on my gyro and my request was overlooked. I absolutely abhor raw onions on ANYTHING. They're too crunchy. The flavor is overpowering. It ruins the whole experience for me. When we pulled up, I totally mentally judged the shop for its appearance, even saying to my boyfriend after he picked up the to-go food that I knew there would be onions on my gyro. I pass by this place all the time and never stopped inside until today. Upon entering you immediately see the meat. Which I'm shocked! I've never seen it cooked that way. We ended up here on an afternoon after we intended to go downtown to the St. Nicholas Greek Festival - however, it was 100 degrees, we had a toddler with us, and the lines were extremely long and that meant gambling with our toddler's patience and our own iron will to get good Greek food. So, we decided to do a little research and find out what St. Louis thought was the best gyros in STL... and found this place. A corner hole in the wall on the edge of Affton/South City. Upon entering you see a glass case but you can't miss the rotating lamb meat skewers sizzling next to the counter. There isn't a lot of seating, but its counter service so its not like you're waiting for a table for waiter service. Food is served hot and fast. I asked for my own little concoction of a Gyro salad and asked for double meat and wow that meant A LOT of meat... (see photos)... It was delicious and so filling. The meat was lightly salty and a little crisp but delicious. The kid's box was perfect for the littlest, warm pita, tzatziki, and slices of meat - does well for a little guy who is on finger foods. We even had some to take home. My husband ordered the classic gyro and said that it was delicious and exactly what he was hoping for when we were originally in route to the Greek festival and those gyros... Ultimately, a good decision for us that day - and we found a little south city gem with awesome Greek food. We, also, took home some baklava to my mother in law. ;) read more

Large quieter dining area in the back which is great for families or people with small children. It's in an unfashionable part of South Saint Louis, but it's well worth the trip down here.
