Bright and fresh! I have been a few times to eat in and recently ordered a gyro for carry out. I've enjoyed the food each time. I really like the rice bowls, but the gyros are great too. The grilled chicken is excellent. Greek fries with feta are a hit- I'm thinking my kids would even like them! There is plenty of seating inside and a nice outdoor area with umbrellas. This is a great option when you want a fast casual lunch or dinner out. Kind of Chipotle vibes with less of a big chain feel.. and Mediterranean. It seems like a popular place, and the staff are always busy when we come in. One note- there is trouble with the soda machine. I had heard good things about this place and a few of us decided to go here for lunch. It's in a plaza and there is plenty of parking pretty close by. We went fairly early in the lunch time hours on a Wednesday. There were a few people already dining in and a few more came in as we were eating. Upon entering one of our group thought it looked like Chipotle for Mediterranean. Not far off. You walk up to the far end of the counter where they have a large menu board displayed with all the items. You can choose Gyros/Wraps, Bowls, or Salad or build your own. I decided to go with the Chicken Pesto bowl. I let the guy behind the counter know what I wanted and indicated I didn't want the shaved parmesan. He must have been brand new, he seemed a little nervous and kept looking at the menu board to decide what ingredients were included. When he moved to the second section of the counter, I reiterated I did not want parmesan, it stated it was shaved but they had a bin full of grated parmesan that was all over the place and in all the bins next to it. My ingredients listed onion and that had parmesan all in it so I told him don't give me the onion either, but he let me know it was a grilled onion, pepper mixture that was far away from the parmesan. I am not allergic I just cannot stand the taste of parmesan. I am a pain but can't help it. I also ordered the pita with roasted red pepper hummus. Each of us got our orders and sat at one of the high-top tables. everyone really enjoyed their meal. I was probably the lone dissenter of the group, The chicken in my bowl was flavorful, I enjoyed the roasted vegetables, and the orzo pasta but the dressing didn't have much flavor so nothing to pull it all together. The roasted red pepper hummus also didn't have much flavor. The pita bread was soft and there was a good amount to go with the hummus. Takeaways - clean up the food prep area, it was so messy overall and the parmesan all over the sides and counter and in the other bins was off-putting. I've been to Orzo on several occasions and have found it pleasant, on the whole, every time. I wouldn't say there is a GREAT selection of things but the menu is big enough. Kind of like a Subway meets Mediterranean place. You can pick from the suggested items or you can create your own bowl or sandwich. I won't comment on the food much, I want to concentrate more on the experience I have when I go. It's been pretty consistent. The staff has been.....ok. They aren't overly nice but are patient. Not overly personable. They are there to work. At least that is what it seemed like when I've been in there. I appreciate them being patient because if you haven't been there several times and don't exactly know what you are doing it can be somewhat of a "Umm....let's seeee....I would like...hmm...." Game. What I don't really appreciate is a place where I order at a counter, take my own food, seat myself, get my own drink, and clean up my own table but still get asked to leave a tip. At that point there is no difference between going there or ordering a part for my 2001 Honda Civic at Autozone and being asked to tip the employee that went in back and got my part off their shelf. This last visit a few days ago was a little annoying. I got and paid for my 'create your own' bowl and a large drink (serve yourself fountain drink). After getting my food I went to get a drink and they were out of the Diet Coke syrup. They were out of the Coke Zero syrup. I went back up to the counter (it was a quiet time when I was there, at 2:30 on a tuesday) and informed the girl that they were out. I was there for over an hour talking with a friend (not taking up a table from anyone, the place was, again, quite dead). In all that time the syrup did not get fixed. You would think if someone would tell you your drink station is not working correctly for TWO drinks you'd get on getting that done, especially when you are not busy. So i paid for a drink and ended up getting water. On this last visit, again, there were several tables that were not cleaned. I don't think we ever saw any employees come out from behind the counter/kitchen. Not that there was necessarily a lot of trash to pick up but nothing got wiped down, the few things that needed to get cleaned did not. But, again, on the whole, things go alright when I'm there. It was ok... What I got the Falafel warm bowl. I got the rice and quinoa with veggies and a much of other veggies and was able to add hummus. It was okay, nothing special. Overall decent, not sure impressive. I also got the greek fries, which was a big portion and it was good as well. I forgot to tell them to take the feta off it.. The seating outside were really nice but when the wind blows towards the seating, the fountain water hits you.. ha.. not as great then... My how things have changed... This used to be one of my favorite places but sadly, this is no longer the case. I went to here to get an orzo bowl but only with the greens, chicken, pesto, and Parmesan. Could you call it a salad? I suppose but wouldn't I actually need the proper dressing to call it a salad? I should have known things weren't going to go well when I walked in and saw three people sitting down in the booths. I wasn't sure if they were working or were patrons until I started walking up to order and one of them sighed and went behind the counter. Might I add, there was no, "hello", "hey", or greeting in general, just pure silence. Once this person got behind the counter, I said, "hi, may I please get the orzo bowl but only with chicken, greens, pesto, and Parmesan." She said, "ok" but then asked me to repeat it. I said it once more. I noticed she started getting rice out and I said, "excuse me, but I didn't ask for rice. I said greens, chicken, pesto, and Parmesan." Then she's like, "oh, so you want a salad?" I'm thinking, no, but at this point I just wanted to get out of there. She put in a huge amount of greens, overloaded the pesto all on one side, sprinkled Parmesan and then added the chicken last. It was the worst looking bowl I've ever seen. Not to mention she rang me up as a build-your-own salad but once completed, slid it over to me. She didn't say thank you, didn't offer me a bag, or anything. First time venturing into the Mediterranean food vibe in STL and visited Orzo Mediterranean Grill (OMG). Not a lot of Mediterranean food places where we live but enjoyed the cuisine when living in DC. Yelp Army got the assist and recommended OMG, and they didn't let me down! OMG is a very popular restaurant in the suburbs of STL and from the packed restaurant its clearly a hidden gem. Menu is an incredible diverse menu of wraps, bowls and salads to make any palette enjoy this great experience. We ordered the Greek fries, a delicious heaping of fries with feta cheese and seasoning. Next, wife ordered the grilled chicken gyro, a delicious meal served with chicken, cucumber, feta cheese tomato and taziki sauce. So much chicken you're gonna take it home. I went with the beef and lamb gyro and loaded with all the items listed above, but the meat was deliciously seasoned and perfectly portioned I had no other choice but to use a fork there was so much food. So good. Restaurant had a traditional vibe with TVs to watch a variety of games or items on tv. Tables were clean and serviced quickly. There is an outside patio and base on the great weather everyone was outside. This place rocks, it you're down for Mediterranean food, this place is legit! read more

This restaurant could be great. Good location with plenty of parking; lots of booth tables and plenty of light; great menu with lots of options. However, I was a little grossed out by the cleanliness....or lack there of. The countertops were covered in random employee items: a purse, cell phones, a computer printer, paperwork. All that needs to be tidied up and put in an office somewhere. Also, the bathroom had a thick layer off dust on the back of the toilet, paper towel holder, and all other flat surfaces. Bathroom toilet and sink had been cleaned........knew that because the toilet cleaner and supplies were left out on the floor. All of these things made me question the hygiene of the food prep areas. I had ordered a gyro with beef/lamb, and was starting to question whether I should eat it or not. All employees seemed like young students and they were all doing their homework in the booths. One of the girls walked over and didn't wash her hands, just put on gloves and asked me what I wanted. I get there was gloves but it doesn't seem the most sanitary after just casually chilling doing homework. I would think if there was a build your own option I could see my options like chipotle but there were kids on half the items. So I had no idea what any of the bases looked like. I asked for a build my own bowl and told her I wanted rice pilaf (what it is listed as on their menu) and the girl asked me what I meant and another girl doing homework had to chime in and yell "she wants the white rice". She opened one of the lidded options to find it empty and went to the back and came back with a couple sandwich bags of premade rice. She dumped a bag of rice in my bowl and spread it out. I get portion control but this was a bit off putting to have a sandwich bag of rice. I then asked for portobello mushrooms and she also seemed confused even though this is an item on the menu. She eventually gave me them after I had to point to them for her. The red peppers and green peppers are cut as though I was prepping a kebab, not eating a bowl. And the chicken didn't come sliced which also seemed odd. The seasoning on the chicken was good but cutting it with their plastic cutlery was a pain. The menu is set but it's prepared in an assembly line-type model similar to Chipotle but less organized. People were jumping in and out trying to grab the ingredients for the order they were working on. A bit hectic for staff, I am sure. I ordered the grilled chicken gyro with tomato, red onion, cucumber, feta, romaine, and tzatziki + Greek fries with herbs and kosher salt, topped with feta cheese. My friend suggested Orzo for dinner on Tuesday (both of us has never been), and I was pleasantly surprised by how great it was! The portions were very big, and they definitely don't skimp on the meat. I got a salad with mixed greens and added gyro and lamb meat (FYI it is an extra $3.49). My total was $15.24. My friend ordered the chicken tahini bowl which she thoroughly enjoyed as well. The ingredients were very fresh and super flavorful! I especially enjoyed the pesto in my salad. The service was great and I loved that they mix the salad up in a large bowl before adding it to the container for you! There's seating inside and outside as well. I stopped in to place a carry out order and I noticed several people sitting in booths only to discover they were members of the staff. I was not greeted by them nor was I acknowledged when they were putting on gloves. My order was slowly put together incorrectly and items were left out even though I reminded him after placing my order. I could tell he had forgotten what I originally said and was focusing on looking at the menu for what ingredients belonged in my bowl. Everyone was nice and friendly and the food was ok. It looked great and good portions, but I have had better gyros. Also per other reviews the meat is kept in a chafing pan on the line, but my gyro meat was not hot, but luke warm. Also discovered while eating my lunch parts of my lettuce were old and showed rust which for a total of over $16 for lunch is not that great. This was my first visit to Orzo. I ordered takeout. This is made to order. Service was good, I was little confused. I wanted a gyro salad with the lemon orzo chicken soup. It was 2:30pm and the soup would not be ready for 30 minutes or more. I was asked if I wanted the regular salad vs. the 1/2 tossed greek salad? I said ok. I was asked if I wanted a bag? Why not, I do not want salad oil dripping on my car seats. I asked if pita would come with salad? No, but for an extra $1.99. I said no thanks. The salad was delicious with plenty of meat. I can honestly say the salad was tossed very well. I do not like to be in a position of deciding if I she pay for something if it usually goes with the entree. There was one couple seated eating at the time. The seating looks a little sterile, not comfortable at all. I am still wondering how the orzo soup tastes. I got the lamb & beef gyro. It was pretty decent, but not my favorite gyro. The tzatziki sauce didn't have a lot of flavor - tasted more like mayo. The meat wasn't super flavorful either. I had it topped with lots of lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, feta, and parsley. All the fresh veggies were nice. The bread choice was either whole wheat tortilla or regular pita. I enjoy regular pitas, but prefer a whole wheat pita option. Their bowls look pretty good - next time I might try one of those instead since the gyro wasn't as good as my fave place in St. Louis, which is STL Gyro. read more

I ordered from Door Dash. I love Mediterranean food and coming from the Dearborn/ Detroit vicinity, I am accustomed fresh food. I guess because my order was placed about 30 mins before of the DD ordering time, I got meat that was cold and old. My salad had the dressing on it. It was way too much and should have had the dressing on the side but they slathered it on so I could not save any which I intended for lunch the next day. We used to love Orzo Mediterranean but the quality of food and the cleanliness has severely gone down hill. The men's and women's restrooms both looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks and the rest of the restaurant unfortunately reflected this level of cleanliness as well. They could not serve lamb and beef as they had a sign that their machine was broken. When I asked a worker if they were going to get it fixed, they stated that they had no idea. It had been broken for awhile. My husband and I both got grilled chicken in our bowls instead of lamb and beef. The chicken had good flavor and was not over cooked, which was the redeeming part of the visit. The cucumbers and onions were slimy, like they had been sitting for a few days, there were several banana pepper stems in my bowl, and the whole thing was so doused in tzatziki sauce that it was not really edible. I picked out most of the chicken but was very disappointed. We used to go to Orzo for lunch or grab takeout for dinner whenever we were in the area but we will probably not be back again. read more
