Michael needs a course in customer service. Brought my BMC team bike in to get it dialed back in, new tires/tubes, redo brake line pretty basic stuff. Got the bike back with electronic shifting unplugged and a broken cassette. I brought the bike back to see if they'd do something reasonably maybe offer to cover the part or labor...something since I dropped the bike off with a working cassette. I was met with nothing but attitude and refusal to offer any form of a solution. I tried to support the local bike shop and should have stuck to a big corp shop like Trek, I'll never use this shop again. I was greeted upon entering. The lady that helped me was super nice. I went because I needed spin shoes for indoor spin class. They had a nice selection of shoes in my size. The ones I liked the most were a bit pricey. there were other options but I fell in love with the ones I purchased. I paid for the clips separately and there was no one working that could put in my clips. I called the next day to see if there was someone available to do it and was told he only works once a week so I would have to wait a whole other week to have it done. I called Bill's bikes in Camarillo and they put them in for a small fee. Michael's bikes where I purchased the spin shoes and clips was charging me quadruple the amount that Bill's bikes charged and they have been way more accommodating and friendly. read more

Called the bike shop and spoke to a woman who quoted me a ebike tube replacement $50 out the door. Explained that I'm bringing in a Surron now, she said bring it by. Got there and didn't have the right tube. Owner said he would have to order it and would be a lot more. Than said the tire repair would be $60 labor just to put the tire back on because the weight of the tire. Crazy. I told him that I was quoted a lot less and he said the person would n the phone doesn't know what they are talking about. read more

I can't speak highly enough about the great service at Michael's Bikes!! I had an issue with a bike bought at another shop, they wanted 1100.00 to do a whole list of repairs on an E-bike. Took the bike to Michael's and they had me up and running in 15 minutes. They explained everything and showed me the items that were not needed to be replaced. made the adjustments and I was back on the road with my daughters bike. We wanted to have a relationship with this bike shop - however, it was not possible. We bought a Specialized bike from them in 2021. Problems with the battery were put back on us to solve. Took over 5 months to have a working bike that we brought from them with a warranty. Fast forward to now. Battery issues again last week, now out of warranty and with their not selling Specialized bikes any more, we were told by the owner he could help with the diagnosis but the family member doing it was out on paternity leave. When we checked back in the attitude from the other family members at the counter was - "not our problem". No call to update us on this redirection. In our opinion - the bike shop is family first, customer second. We would never recommend doing business with them. read more

Excellent service and very friendly staff! I had a blown tire on my road bike and called Michael's Bicycles to see if they could fit me in for service so I wouldn't miss a group ride to Ojai the next day. They told me to bring the bike in and leave it overnight so it would be ready the next morning. Not only did they get my new tubeless tire on but they had the bike finished 2 hours after I dropped it off. My road bike wheels aren't the easiest to work on and they did an excellent job! I called today in the morning and asked to see if they had any bikes in stock since most other bicycle shops have completely sold out of everything. The person on the phone took the time to explain to me the features and style of bicycle that they had in stock (Specialized Sirrus Elite). I arrived there 30 minutes later and met with Ashton. He helped me understand the bike more as I am brand new to the bike world. I also got biking shorts with pads and saw what a difference they made in terms of saddle comfort. Hi everyone...I needed an inner tube for my fat tire e-bike. I called a few bike shops, but they didn't carry the size I needed. I called Michael's and they had it. I went into the store and was immediately greeted by the staff. The owner Michael was also standing right there so I asked him if he carried the valve stem cap with the stem remover on it. He said he didn't, but said, I think I have one in the back room, I'll be right back. He did have it and said, here you go, no charge. He also gave me tips on reinstalling the innertube to help protect from future punctures.
