    Came for some things to create a "creative gift wrapping" present for a party we were going to. It was white elephant with a twist...you had to present in a creative, non-traditional gift wrapping. After doing some on-line research, I found the cutest idea of a snowman so we headed to Michael's for materials. We worked with Michelle, who was simply magnificent! She had a box they were going to toss for the base and helped us with the ideas for the rest of project. Project completed and we had some materials left over so returned what was unopened and unused. Again, Michelle was gracious and friendly and loved the final pictures I showed her of our project. Great experience and huge shout-out to Michelle!

    I can't believe I'm reviewing a Michael's, but here we are. The customer service at point of sale is pretty awful. I was originally going to go to self-checkout because I was in a rush. Terri since 2018 called out to me from behind the cashwrap stating she was available, too. I didn't want to be rude by blatantly choosing to check out with a machine than a human who went out of her way to make her presence known. When I greeted Terri and made small talk as she scanned my purchase, another customer finished self-checkout and started exiting holding a basket. Terri interrupted what I was saying to her by barking at this customer to place her basket at a certain location. We had a ribbon promotion that wasn't being applied at checkout. I explained where I saw the buy 2 get 2 free marketing. Terri scanned the barcode to check on a handheld device and told me it wasn't part of the promo so I asked my husband to take a picture of the marketing on the endcap. I had to show Terri the color ribbon was the same as my selection from the picture of the ribbons on that endcap. During this interaction, Terri also chastised me for talking to her when people were talking in her ear via store radio...I wasn't trying to be rude since I couldn't hear if someone was speaking to her via her radio earpiece. It took two people--another associate Kai since 2021, who was very efficient and friendly, along with a manager--to come and help Terri ring the promotional pricing from the POS not applying it. Terri first suggested to void the entire transaction. I asked if we could just ring the ribbons separately since I didn't want them to scan the entirety of the purchase again since I had already waited a long time. At this point, the line items for the ribbons had already been voided, so it would have saved more time to just ring them separately. Then when it came time to pay, I had to tell Terri twice I had a gift card I want to use before my credit card as tender. Terri sighed and visibly showed her frustration when she had to manually apply the gift card as tender. She also needed to get assistance from Kai...you would think a team member who has been working at Michael's since 2016 can handle a transaction. She probably just needs more training before being unleashed on regular customers. When I was leaving, I could clearly hear Terri complaining about our interaction with her coworker. If you're going to vent about your own incompetence, at least do it in the break room. It's no wonder this is the lowest-rated Michael's in The East Valley.

    Great last minute before Christmas shopping experience at my usual Michael's. Sierra the manager helped us desperate parents trying to find red bows for Santa's gift. She went above and beyond to get what we needed. She also honored a sale price on an alternative product that was not available. Thanks for the Christmas miracle and a little joy during this weird season.

    This is the job Chandler did. They cut off the top letter. Didn't make room to see the piece was numbered in the bottom either.

    No associate was willing to help me today. After several attempts I left. Glad there is a hobby lobby across the street!!
