I finally took a small pile of concert posters from VIP packages I collected over the years to be mounted and framed. I went in thinking I would keep them basic like a few I had done at a different Michael's years ago. An employee by the name of Brad helped me and recognized the band posters. We discussed our similar taste in music as I told him I thought I just wanted simple mats and frames. He asked if he could make some recommendations and did an awesome job of picking colors in the posters and then matching the mats and frames. I spent more than I anticipated but it was money well spent because they look amazing and have received several compliments from guests that have come over! read more

Worst michaels ever! They barely even had any thread. It's so unorganized, spend the gas money go else where!

When you sell items that have age restrictions, or, that you are afraid someone will steal, putting them under lock and key at the back of the store where employees are nowhere to be found - is a poor choice. Between lack of assistance, wait times, and piss poor excuses/communication, this Michaels has found the perfect way to piss off customers. No customer should have to request assistance four times. Making customers wait thirty minutes for assistance is unacceptable. If the store is busy, a wait time is understandable. But the "cluster at the checkout lanes" is a ridiculous excuse for delays, especially when there are only three customers in line and two cashiers ringing people up (and a third employee just standing around talking). When a customer repeatedly asks for assistance with an item, and a similar item is available elsewhere in the store, you should tell them the first time they ask. Let the customer make the decision as to whether they want to wait for item A when item B is more readily available. read more

Horrible. Took a piece in for framing. I provided the frame and mat, but I asked them to add an accent mat and mount. Took almost a month for them to cut a mat and tape my artwork to it. The framing store I've been to in Arlington does it faster, better and much cheaper. But that is nothing compared to the fact that they LOST the certificate of authenticity making my limited edition print essentially worthless. And while trying to sort this all out, they have basically just tried deny and postpone talking to me. "We're looking into it. We'll call you back." (They never call.) "Are you sure you gave it to us?" (Yes, my husband and son can also confirm that we left all the paperwork with the print, assuming they would put it in an envelope on the back of the frame like most places do.) A nightmare. Christine was very helpful when I checked out. She saw all of the sketch books and markers I wanted to buy and asked about the artist. When I told her about my daughter, Christine told me about a class that you can take with Copic to get certified to use their products. She said "who knows, your daughter could be a 13-year old Copic trainer on the side." What a great way to encourage your customers. And on top of that, they had some great discounts on the sketch books. I'll be back soon! read more

I've never had a problem with Michael's. The people that work there have always been so helpful and when I can't find a certain item they always make recommendations for other nearby Michael stores or other places where I can find what I am looking for. read more

Great location but this store is always under stocked &'not enough staff working the registers every time I come it's a line of 7-10 ppl waiting to checkout & only one register open. Store also seems a little disorganized as items/crafts are never in the right aisle. read more

This place was horrible they had no customer service the line was very long and they only kept 2 registers open. During this fiasco the only available manger was really non-exsistant with everyone in line I would never recommend visiting this location go to the one on route 1 read more

Tons of supplies and very neat, but the staff are useless. What good are they if you can't tell me the price of something, then send me to stand in line at the register for 15 minutes to get the price. What a fiasco. I wanted to leave the cart and walk out. read more

This store is possibly the worst as far as management goes. It is a mess...and there is never any staff available on the floor to assist with finding something. The few times I have managed to locate someone to help I either receive the blank stare..or a wave of the hand indicating the direction I MIGHT find what I am looking for. Then when and I finally arrive at the cashier I am generally asked "Did you find everything you needed"...my answer EVERY time is "no"...I then receive a vague "oh, sorry" or again a blank stare. Also every time I have been there there at least two of the cash registers aren't open and a loooooong line of people. Each time I have asked to speak to a manager to ask "why"? I have received the answer , "oh they're broken". WELL , GET THEM FIXED DARN IT!! I really think corporate needs to take a good look at the management at this location. read more

Suckered by the 40% off coupon... I carefully read the "fine print" about all the exclusions and spent a good 20 minutes selecting a beginner's oil paint kit for a Christmas present. I made sure it was not on sale, as this would exclude the product to be eligible for the coupon. Original price was close to $50. The cashier rang it up and said it was in fact on sale. The purchase price was $39.99, not even close to 40% off. After checking again to make sure there was no sale tags ANYWHERE on the aisle and it was not listed in the flyer, I spoke with a manager. "I hear what you are saying, but I am not able to discount the item further than the sale price. The coupon won't work for this." This wasted an hour of my time, not to mention the people in line behind me. It also caused frustration for the cashier. There is far too much competition for Michael's to treat customers this way. It is not the first time I have dealt with this so-called 40% off coupon, but it is the last time they will make me feel like an idiot. read more

Yes, this store is disorganized and the lines are long but I keep going back because it's on my way home from the metro. BUT I drove out of my way to shop here last night. I arrived at 8:02 P.M. and the staff was preparing to close for the evening. I checked my smartphone to discover they are supposed to be open until 9:00 P.M. Hmmmm, obviously they didn't want my business but I needed to pick up some silk flowers for a project. However, I couldn't see all of the silk flowers because the staff, in their hurry to close early, blocked most of the silk flowers with the huge carts. When I got to the register, the flowers I did pick kup did not ring up with the sale price, in fact, two stems of the exact same flower had different prices. The cashier called the manager in from outside and the manager had a LOUSY attitude about it. She didn't seem to care that she might be inconveniency a customer while she was being snide to her employees. I finally lost my patience and blew my cool but the manager didn't care. The cashier did apologize for her manager's bad behavior. A. C. Moore, Joann Fabrics or someone else will get my business from now on. Instead of hanging out in front of the store, maybe the manager should have been organizing and cleaning her store. read more

I received 6 original canvas paintings as gifts and saw Michael's was having a 55% off sale for framing. To get one canvas stretched was nearly $120 and to get 6 was over $700 - that was more than the canvas paintings. Stretching of canvas was not included in this sale, so I priced having them framed. To get them framed in the least expensive frame the price was over $100 per canvas. The customer service was good, but the price was not acceptable. I went to a nearby frame story who mounted and stretched all 6 for a much cheaper price and with awesome quality! read more

My experience at this Michaels was positive. They had what I was looking for (many different colors of Caron yarn!) and the cashier was very friendly, helpful, and had wonderful customer service skills. I wish they had more of certain colors I needed but I understand why they wouldn't with the large sale going on right now. Definitely one of the best experiences I have had at a MIchaels! my fiancée, maid of honor and I were looking at decorative flowers that had a sale price for .99 but still to make sure I asked two separate ppl how much it was. first lady said fifty percent off which is about 99 cents cause original price is 1.99, second lady said as long as it says field stems then it's fifty percent off which the tag did say. also my fiancé asked three people as well. so we end up spending a lot of time picking out 44 flowers and more time looking and picking other stuff for our wedding. we had difficulty asking and finding employees to help us locate things as well. and when we did ask them they seemed annoyed. when we got to the register of course it's full price and we pull the sign to show and she said its expires but it doesn't hurt to ask the manager, so I said yes please. when the manager comes the lady goes we have a 'troubled one' here which I found very offensive. the manager came and was not helpful at all. even tho they're the one that did the false advertisement. I mean fine if it was one flower and we didn't get the sale price but we picked out Forty Four flowers! at the end cause obviously they don't want customers we decided not to promote this store and not buy anything, which was bout 150 dollars in our cart. and we spent an hour and a half of our time. also stood in line in the beginning just to ask if they have any more purple wraps in the back and she just said no what's out is out with an annoyed attitude didn't even look at me and of course didnt offer to look or check system, not accommodating whatsoever. this michaels was a huge disappointment and just a waste time. basically point is dont go cause obviously they don't care bout customer services or doing their jobs well, save your time, effort and money. only go if you wanna be stressed and irritated or you have nothing better to do read more

I will never return to this location after such a horrible experience. I'd heard that Michaels stores allow smaller dogs so in the past, I had called this store to confirm that my 20lb. spaniel mix would be acceptable. I got the okay from an employee who asked her manager. Recently, I had brought my dog into the store like I had previously. A couple employees saw me walk in and didn't say anything. After I had about $20+ worth of merchandise in my hand, an employee who I assume to be a manager or supervisor, doesn't walk up to me but stands at the opposite end of the aisle and commands I take my dog out of the store immediately because she is "too big." I'm confused and state how I have been allowed to bring her in the past and it has never been a problem, but this lady doesn't want to hear it. Each time I try to discuss and clarify the issue, she turns and tries to walk away. I had no idea what to do with the items in my hand because I clearly wanted to make a purchase but this employee didn't seem to care about me or my money. I had to ask her if I could hold my items somewhere and then she said she would take them. I walked out and never went back. After such rude and inconsiderate treatment, I don't plan on returning to this location, ever. By the way, called other Michaels stores and they were perfectly fine with having my pup come into the store, 20 pounds and all! read more
