I had ordered a picture of my friend & her grand daughter to be put on a tile as a Christmas gift for her. The tile took much longer than it should have to get here. I was worried because it was not going to come when it was supposed to. I went to CVS to have one done but it turned out awful. My daughter said go to Michael's to the framing department so I did. OMG! I poked my head in the room where Rachel was putting a frame on a photo for a customer. She looked up at me and with the sweetest voice said Hello, can I help you? And help me she did. She helped me make a tough decision on what frame to use. She had the patience of a Saint. Other customers would come up while she was helping me and they were treated with so much care and respect. After she finished framing it she wrapped it really well and it was beautiful. My friend cried because she liked it so much. Oh and afterward the tile I had ordered showed up the next day. Every time I go into Michaels someone is there to help me find something, give me ideas, or show me how to do a project. I love Michaels. I stopped in here on a whim, and because I wanted to see what kind of poster frames they had available. First off I noticed the Valentines merch, as that's just a couple weeks away. Then the Christmas merch, 75% off, which was extremely tempting! For picture frames, they had a lot of good options, from traditional frames in custom sizes, to pre-made frames, including shadow boxes and floating style frames. I was just doing research tonight, not ready to buy, but they did have a lot of options for me to consider. I also used their restroom and while it was barely stocked, it was adequate for my needs. Horrible experience and will not come back!! Dropped off balloons I brought in on a Monday for my daughter's bday on Saturday. Spoke to the cash register who got all my info, wrote down my needs for the balloons, and told me to get them Saturday at 9:30. My husband goes to pick them up Saturday and they said we don't have your balloons. Confused we described them again and reminded of the interaction we had Monday with the cash register. The cash register said she remembered us but didn't remember where she put them. We were left scrambling to buy their balloons last minute which were hideous and took over an hour to blow up. Then, another customer came in after and had a time to get their balloons and they hadn't even started them. Horrible customer service. read more

The worst customer service I've ever experienced extremely rude mid aged white woman. From the moment I asked for her, she had the most unprofessional behavior. Making sounds "like uh I gotta do this, or this system is being difficult." On top that her mannerisms while she helped me like she hated working there and bad energy. Like why work there if you're going to be disrespectful and not have workplace ethic. Everything from me asking for help to fine a cutting mat and then checking out took almost 10 mins of agony with this person. She wears glasses and should be fired. Love love love this store! Workers are so nice and knowledgeable and happy to help assist you with any and all projects and purchases. They can do it all here, from framing your photos to paint, yard, jewelry, holiday decor, balloons etc! Tons of fun to be had here, I always stop by to see what's on display for the holidays. Kids love coming in and picking out little art kits and making fun things at home. They have all the supplies for scrap booking, painting, making anything artsy! I did an online order for connivence as I already knew what I wanted and didn't have to hunt it down in the store. My order didn't take long to process and within an hour it was ready for pickup. When you initially walk in they have a pickup area where you can grab your items which doesn't seem very secure as it's right off the entrance door which anyone can really just walk in and grab your order and walk off with it if they really wanted too. But since mine was more on the expensive side I stood in line to find out where it was for pickup. I talked with the cashier and she was oblivious to where it could have been. She was like I have to check at the pickup station which I told her I already did and it wasn't there. Then she went off to the side and couldn't find it located in the locker like storage and asked another employee where it was. Another employee working that area told her my order was sitting on the shelf. Literally she just had to grab it and pass it along to me but instead told me I had to wait for someone over there to help me. Uh what.. that makes no damn sense. As I waited again, the other employee off to the side looked at me and then went on with her business as another employee walked by and was like this is her order. Which she clearly knew that as they already told the cashier. She then came back to me as I was still standing there asking if I needed help and I told her I was here for my pickup order and had the barcode ready to be scan. She told me she doesn't need that, just needs my name and marked it as picked up on her end and it'll be out soon. The items I ordered were clearly right there, I can see them talking about it so I'm not sure why I had to wait around before she decided to hand me my purchase that she clearly already marked as picked up! Another one oblivious to the situation going on right in front of her. They really need people in there that know what's going on and how to actually have good customer service. Clearly none of these people working that shift knew what that meant. Also.. what's the point of ordering online and picking up in store if they won't give you your purchase that was clearly ready for pickup! Let alone they don't even follow protocol to scan the barcode on your email before they hand off your order. I could have just made up a name and took someone's purchase since they don't actually check. I also won't be doing pickup orders from this location as they clearly have no clue what's going on and how to actually do their job when it comes to it. read more

I normally do not shop at Michaels but I needed to get supplies for my daughters project. I didn't use all the supplies therefore I had some items to return. I had my receipt and because my debit card was stolen she was not willing give me cash back. My return was only about $5. I don't shop there so I didn't want a gift card. The manager Rocio was not being helpful at all and very rude. The managers need more training on their return policy because Their return policy states that Purchases made with a debit card will be refunded as cash. I asked for her to write her name and corporate number and she rudely told me to do it myself. read more

The location seems smaller than others, and it might be wise to call ahead before heading over. They always have good sales, so make sure to download the app so you have access to coupons. So I stop in to see what's good. Being a creative person, I love Michaels and have never been to this location. Very old and weird layout here. Aisles are lined weird. When you enter you are walking through the checkout area. After browsing for a bit, all the tea I drank hits and I have to use the restroom. Located in the back near the frame Dept. As I get there I see they have a lock number pad on the door. WTH? We are in Stevenson Ranch here. No transient people even around. So I went to ask the girl behind the counter in framing. She was helping a Customer and called for someone to come open the bathroom for me, which is fine if someone actually had showed up. So after about 10 min I go back to her and she calls again. Now, at this point she could have excused herself to walk 10 steps to open the door for me. Instead she calls again for someone to come. This time a man named Richard( I think)shows up. When I asked him why they had the doors locked, his reply "for security reasons". LOL!! Really? Ok, so you don't want all the homeless people coming in and messing up your bathroom?? That same DIRTY bathroom with NO PAPER TOWELS?? Right. Got it . Now I'm so disgusted and turned off by this store that I would never spend a dime of my money here. read more

She asked when I needed it and I replied by tomorrow for bday celebration and she immediately got into action to help me get this print together. Idk why there are so many bad reviews but I LOVE this Michaels location. Even when there register refused to scan my coupons and return receipt the cashier was patient and took the time to type them in manually. I can always find the items I need (but I rarely go without knowing what I need so perhaps if you need craft advice this is where people are having issues?) I highly recommend and like this location. i've never had an issue at this Michaels location. lots of parking, friendly customer service, i always find what i'm looking for and public restroom available. my only "complaint" would be that there is about 8 check-out registers and only ever 2-3 store associates there to check us out...good thing not too many people shop here or else those lines VS only 2 cash register open would be a nightmare. we went today and i asked if any discounts were active today as i was already checking out and she said online there was...so i'm on my phone trying to hurry up and find the coupons on the website and she saw the wifi wasn't the fastest and said "i'll just go on and give it to you" :) which was really nice of her. read more

I took two paintings in to be framed. I stopped in after 2 weeks on the date specified for framing. They said they had not even received the frames in yet, and were going to call me. I called two weeks later, again asking what is going on, and I get told I should call back later. Such a nightmare experience. I paid $800 for a frame. Ok, I made a measurement mistake by 1/2" but when I bought it they said they'd remake it if it didn't fit. I went to have it remade, brought it in, showed the receipt... and they said they changed their computer system and my receipt was in the old one so they couldn't honor it! This is my go to michaels because it's closest and next to the other stores I shop at but they continually disappoint. Today they had signage ALL OVER the Cricut vinyl wall saying "buy 2 get 1 free Cricut brand materials and accessories" I get up and it's not working and she says oh it excludes the vinyl (which is a material but whatever) but I'm like well because of your signage I spent time picking based off that sale and I think you should honor it and get someone over there to fix it because other people were shopping the sale as well" and she's like yeah no. I'm finding a new michaels. This one USED to be good when Scott was a manager but I haven't seen him in a while. Sad. read more

My experience with custom framing here was awful. This was my first time having done custom framing at Michael's and they finished in about two weeks. When I went back to get my framed canvases, they had forgotten to put a glass over it, which I had paid $30+ extra for each. So I left it with them and returned in about a week when I received no calls or e-mails. I asked the guy there if they had finished framing my pictures.. and he said they had somehow misplaced them? Eventually he found it and the glass hadn't even been placed on yet, after a whole week. I ended up waiting there for about half an hour and came home later to find that one of the pictures had been placed upside down. I didn't bother going back to have them fix it because I was so fed up. Overall, pretty unorganized and unprofessional. read more

Let's be honest, Valencia isn't known for its love of the arts. Sometimes it reminds me of when I was stuck in Stuttgart with the fascists frying up books like Wiener schnitzel. But I try to support the arts and have been supporting Michaels for years but on my last visit I had such terrible and rude service by a young woman named Ingra who was more occupied checking Facebook than answering my questions about supplies I needed. I haven't dealt with anyone so unfriendly since the nazis in east Berlin. I'm not sure who is hiring the staff here, but they need to learn a thing about customer service. I really enjoy going to Michaels. Usually we go here for picture frames, but just walking up and down the isles you see so many fun projects to work on... bird houses, beads, jewelry, painting, cooking, home decor etc. The possibilities are endless! As far as checking out, the line moves slow. The place is usually not busy, but they often times have just one clerk checking customers out. Not a huge deal, but something to note. I am giving them two stars because I usually like the Michaels chain of stores that I have been to. I called today to see if they had motorized carts available for my Mom who has a broken kneecap. The woman answered with this long spiel about their sales causing me to think I was listening to a recorded greeting. I was saying something to my Mom when she interrupted with a rude "Hellloooo!?" I said oh hi, and asked about the carts to which she replied "We sure don't" in her rotten tone of voice then before I could finish saying "Thank you" she said "Okay, bye" and hung up on me. Wow thanks you ox! I am glad I didn't have to meet you in person! They have a huge array of supplies which is nice. They are a tad on the expensive side so I only go when I have coupons. The staff isn't very helpful. They are constantly doing something and it feels like customers are getting in the way. The aisles are really narrow so it's hard to navigate around people. I was waiting in line today and one of the cashiers said "next customer please!" And I walked over to her talking to the other cashier. She hadn't noticed that I was there and then she said "excuse me ma'am there was a line." I was like "excuse me? I was just in that line and walked over here when you called next customer." I hate being called ma'am especially by someone who is my age or maybe a little older. Don't come here for good customer service. read more

I have to say, I've been to Michael's several times, never have I had such great treatment by one of their associates. We went to Michael's to get items to do a science project for my sons school. When we arrived Karen, took us all around store and helped us find the perfect items to do his project.
