The birria tacos came with 3 regular sized tacos and honestly each one is pretty dense with meat and cheese. The consome also had some meat although, I think it was beef and not goat. Everything was tender but the flavor was just ok for me. My mom wanted a carnitas super burrito and this was pretty good. Lots of meat and some bits were crispy just how I like it. I wouldn't mind getting it again but I do want to try their al pastor next time. Their fish plate was pretty good as well. Loved the crispness of the fish and it didn't feel greasy or heavy. It came with avocados, rice, beans, lettuce and 4 flour tortillas. I wouldn't mind getting this again. A basket of chips came for each person as soon as we sat down and there was a healthy selection of salsa. I didn't care for the chips itself as they were too salty for me. The ambiance is very festive and there were plenty of people coming in and out. We dined in and found myself wishing they gave real silverware rather than plastic. We were only give one real fork for the fish and it was difficult to break apart. Their plastic cutlery was also pretty flimsy so we mostly ate with our hands. Overall, I'd still come back and try other dishes.

I didn't plan on having a life-altering taqueria encouter in San Bruno, but here we are…read more I walked into Taqueria San Bruno on a simple mission: eat something good, move on with my day, maybe feel mildly satisfied. Instead, I walked straight into the orbit of the Quesabirria. It starts innocently enough. You order. You wait. You think you understand what's coming. And then a plate shows up that immediately makes you question whether you've been underestimating lunch your entire life. The quesabirria arrives looking like it knows something you don't. Crisped tortillas, edges kissed with oil and spice, cheese doing that molten, slightly dramatic stretch like it's auditioning for a food commercial nobody told you you were in. And tucked inside--slow-braised beef that tastes like it's been patiently becoming itself for hours. Then comes the consommé. This is where things stop being casual. Because the first dip is not a bite, it's a decision. Suddenly you're in it. The broth is rich and deep and slightly mischievous, like it's encouraging you to ignore your responsibilities and "just have one more." The tacos don't fight it--they just collapse gently into flavor, like they were always meant to be there. At some point, I lost track of whether I was eating quickly or the food was disappearing on its own. Time gets a little elastic when everything tastes this intentional. One minute you're a reasonable adult having lunch in San Bruno, the next you're guarding your last taco like it's something sacred. What's wild is how unbothered the whole place is about how good this is. No theatrics, no fanfare--just a steady stream of people quietly meeting their destiny with melted cheese and chili-kissed broth. By the end, I wasn't full so much as slightly transformed. Like I had learned something important, but couldn't explain it out loud without sounding unhinged. San Bruno has plenty of places to eat. This is one of the few that feels like it's gently rearranging your standards while you're not looking. I will absolutely be back. Probably sooner than I'll admit publicly. Come hungry and Go Big!!!

The food looked delicious, eye candy. Parking is limited. It's a small place, but big enough to come in with a fairly large group. We walked in and sat down. I noticed a huge counter with a big television screen playing music videos of Latin music, jamming. There were a couple of tables and cultural decor. It was clean and inviting. The server greeted us and brought us chips and salsa verde. The salsa verde was to my liking, perfect amount of spicy. The server came back and took our orders: - Caldo de res (my order), came with rice, tortillas, and cilantro with onions - Grilled chicken tacos - Chicken quesadilla My caldo res was tasty and so good. I love the flavor of the broth. Big portion for me. I finished it though lol. I tasted hubby's tacos and quesadilla, also yummy. I love that they grilled the chicken, gives the flavor more depth. This will be one of our local spots. Thank you, El Taconazo for cooking for us.

The shrimp cocktail had a lot of shrimp, avocado, and cucumber which was delicious. But the actual cocktail juice was light in flavor. Because we took it to go I was able to doctor it up with some extra cocktail sauce, horseradish, hot sauce and lemon. I also loved that they serve saltines with their shrimp cocktail because some places just give chips. The fried fish was delicious and unfortunately I wasn't able to try the aguachilles before they ran out which might mean they were good.

Michelada came in a frosty AF mug which is reason in and of itself to come by. So good.

The menu offers a variety of items, and we decided on the elote tots (tater tots and elote street-style corn), an appetizer that sounded different, and for the main dishes, the nachos with added soy chorizo and the spaghetti with Poblano chili sauce, plus a side of soy chorizo. The food came quickly, and the elote tots were amazingly good! The combination of tater tots, the corn, and the cheeses (sauce and crumbled) was amazing mix of textures and flavors. The nachos were good, and the pasta with poblano sauce was also very good. The sauce was creamy, with a slight heat, and very different. The soy chorizo was not my favorite, and in the nachos, the crumbled form of the soy chorizo was better suited as an add than as a side to the pasta (maybe it was intended to be mixed in, but I wanted to eat it separately). Just too crumbled and a little dry for me. The service was great, and thanks to Dioscelyn for that. Overall, a very nice meal. We were not hurried and stayed at the table a bit to chat. A great place if you are in the area.

I was surprised the heated stoneware didn't dry out the meats. It was perfect. Service was excellent for a pay at the cashier and they bring you the food type of restaurant.
