Can here with a friend in search of really good queso (which should be easier to do in Austin than it was!), and was blown away by how Fantastic this place is!! The drinks, both taste as well as presentation, were absolutely 5 star and the queso may have ruined me for all others!! lol.. we added this to our 'when out and about in Austin, Always Go Here' list!! .. the bartender (who's name I forget, but that's my fault) was super friendly, extremely timely, and made us feel totally welcome and like he was happy we were there!! 10 out of 10 will DEFINITELY be back!!

The food is exceptional. Authentic Mexican. Service is very personal and friendly. The ambience is pure Mexican.

I was looking for a Tex-Mex place close to the Hilton Hotel. This Place was recommended to me, and although I don't think it's full-fledged Tex-Mex, there are more street tacos and fajitas. Some great looking burgers and some other things that are not what I would consider true TexMex However, service was top-notch from the receptionist to the bartender and the rest of the weight stuff! After figuring out what I wanted to eat, I was served an excellent margarita, the El Presidente. The flavor balance was terrific, just a little bit on what I would consider the small size. Let's go to a bigger glass, folks. I ended up going with the chicken and beef fajitas, which were served smoldering hot. The beef was cooked to perfection, as was the chicken. There were plenty of sides, including guacamole, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, and an extra tortilla to finish out the fajita meat, onions, and peppers. The presentation and flavor were magnificent and delivered on all points. I would highly recommend stopping here.

Best totopos hands down. Couple them with the Queso Esperanza, get a michalada or the amazing spicy mule and grab a spot outside to enjoy people watching. The service, food and drinks are great. Did I mention the chips????

Went there for a meal before going out and while the vibe is just your typical Tex Mex restaurant, I was really struck by how kind the staff all were. They were incredibly attentive and engaged in super friendly conversation with me and even gave me advice for an upcoming vacation. The food quality is solid as well, I appreciate that my burrito came with all the adornments on top - definitely recommend getting it with steak

This place is so authentic. It's so cute inside. Everything is homemade. The salsa is so good. The dinner and drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend! The staff was very attentive!

Recommend downtown Austin stop. Easy to find, laid back vibe, and outdoor seating on good days. I was in town solo looking for a decent brunch and I place I could watch Sunday football. Found it! Not a large bar but with three TVs I was set. And the brunch was impressive. Big fan of New Mexican huevos rancheros and decided to try a Tex-Mex version. Quite good--everything is served on top of 2 crispy tostados, with the black beans having a bit of a kick. The eggs were perfect. A rich sauce complements, not overwhelms. I added a side of bacon and a house margarita. Superb brunch. Next time I'm here on a weekend I will be back!

Micheladas Cafe y Cantina ("Micheladas") is a somewhat classy classic Tex-Mex restaurant located on Trinity St. between 5th & 6th St. in DT Austin. Walking around before a work-event this evening, I stumbled upon it happenstance (I usually use Yelp(!) for assistance, but alas, my app privileges have been deactivated - thinking of big-tech censorship ala Meta, drawing parallels from Jeremy Stoppelman to Zuck). I guess Yelp(!) now discriminates against meat-eaters. In any event, I digress! It's a good restaurant with a great atmosphere and attentive staff. Since this is my first time here, I can't elaborate much more than that. I would be more than happy to recommend this place to friends, family and acquaintances.

Very good! Super cute and great service. We were there on a Saturday night before the Austin Half Marathon (carb loading). We had the table side guacamole to start. Then I had the quesadilla and my husband had the fajitas. I would definitely go back again! Good fresh salsa and chips!

Hosted our clients on the venue side of Micheladas in the Coppertank. Everything was seamless and prompt for our guests. A/C was keeping us cool in this hot Texas summer weather. Food was delicious with chicken and beef fajitas and verde cheese enchiladas. My new fav enchiladas there! Brenda and her staff do an amazing job! We will be back for our next event!

We stopped in here on a week night while visiting Austin. The service was good. Decor was nice. The food was just ok and I felt the prices were higher than they should be for what we ordered. We did not partake in their drinks so maybe thats what they are known for.

Randomly stopped in here while roaming downtown...great find! It's SPICY! Fun vibe, indoor and outdoor seating, good service. The Queso Esperanza is realllllly yummy...tender steak...but it's quite spicy!! The salsa is SO fresh and delicious! Spicy also! Heck, even the Moscow Mule was spicy...We would return!

    Nachos with pastor. Very tasty.

I can't remember whether it was described as dramatic as it showed up, but let me tell you there was drama! It was served in a flaming skull, garnished with beautiful flowers and fresh fruit, and filled to the brim with God knows how much alcohol and juice, but it was a time! To heighten the experience, he sprinkled something in a shaker and the flames just erupted! The whole restaurant stopped and I cackled! The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.
