These days Boca is located inside the Container Bar. It has morphed from a Spanish truck to an Austin Tex-Mex truck and a pretty decent one at that. There are a lot of mediocre food trucks on Rainey Street. Making the Container Bar a good place to go if you have the munchies. Boca basically offers tacos, nachos and fries, all with stuff dumped in them or on them. I recommend the nachos because Boca does a very nice home-made chip. Their nachos have a) cherry tomatoes (thumbs up!) b) garbanzo beans (thumbs up!) c) minced fresh jalapeno rather than canned pickled jalapeno slices (thumbs up!) They pile on the toppings in industrial quantity And the chips are thick. So you can expect a real meal out of your boxload of nachos. The Container Bar is not strong on places to sit down while you eat - So you may want to pick a locale with better seating. Plus (and this is true of all Rainey street trucks) You are going to have to wait for your food because of the crowds. Still, if you are on Rainey Street, and you don't mind leaning on a wall or balcony while you eat ... You can do well at Boca. read more

Catching up with all my reviews for 2014. ACL weekend I came a day before the event started so we had a chance to explore Austin a bit. At night we came to Boca and Beirut. For Boca I ordered their chicken sandwich. Yes that's not the name they used but I can't remember. It's basically a chicken with bread at least. Anyhow I thought it was okay and well it was good in some sense but I think it was Beirut's fault. The chicken at Beirut was super juicy and their is something about their flavoring that made it stood out. So when I took a bite out of my sandwich it was good but it was lacking something. With that in mind I still enjoyed my sandwich. So much so I came back the next day and ordered from them again. I'm a fan. The place was just right across from the apartments we were staying at so I can't complain. Overall if you're in the area and want some Bocadilla (sp?) Then come here. read more

A couple of friends and I accidentally stumbled upon this lovely food truck park on Jesse st. We decided to try Boca because it looked sleek and stylish, and Spanish food sounded pretty bougie good. The menu is a bit hard to read, but the chef recommended the bucadillas so we all took turns getting different ones. Basically the bucadillas are small baguettes filled with some veggie, whatever meat that particular item comes with, and an awesome creamy sauce (similar to an aoli). The wait for food was about 15 minutes or so (with no one in the park so expect something longer otherwise) but the orders are made fresh before your eyes. The couple who owns the truck seem really nice and genuine. I really enjoyed my food here, I thought the flavors were great. There's a certain something about the combination of the creamy aoli, the fresh veggies, and the just right amount of spices that make this pretty magical. My only complaint is that the portions are quite small. Most of the bucadilla ended up being the bread and my "salad version" was measly. I think once this place gets more traffic everything will work out to hit an optimal equilibrium. I don't see myself craving this necessarily but it was a worthy eat. First off, FREE sangria on Saturdays (I forget the exact timing but something like 3pm - 9pm). That's what automatically sold us to come here while on a walk around the neighborhood. We went home, changed, and came right back to get on that deal. We had already eaten, so my friend and I split the El Pollito panini. We then sipped our sangria as we patiently waited for our sandwich. EL POLLITO - Pressed panini perfection. The bread was thin enough that it didn't overpower the sandwich, which I really appreciated. Good amount of rosemary chicken and mozzarella, and the spice or the aioli was perfect. It was around $9 which is fairly steep, but factor in the free sangria and it's a banging deal SANGRIA - you can keep going back for more as long as you want which is awesome. I didn't think it was very strong but my friend thought differently. No idea what is in it except for the fact it was a red wine variation and I tasted some cinnamon This place is great, and this food truck park is great. Stopped by late on a Tuesday night and was starving! I love how all the bars have food trucks parked and incorporated into the bar. I ordered the Chicken and Bacon Taco, Chips and Queso and the Ground Beef Taco. My favorite was the Ground beef taco. Lots of flavor packed in the taco. It got a little messy eating but I love that! My only complaint is that I wish they put a little less seasoning (I think it was cumin) on the chips. It was a little overwhelming and messed up my taste buds. Overall, really good tacos but my taco journey through Austin led me to other just as tasty spots. Awesome customer service though! read more

Truck by Truckwest stop #4 and this was very tasty. I had the pressed beef shoulder sandwich with the habanero tomato sauce and roasted peppers and it was delicious. The bread was chewy and slightly crispy and pressed on the griddle, the meat was perfectly tender, the sauce was rich, lightly spicy and robustly flavored and the peppers were a nice accompaniment. I wolfed the thing down in next to no time and enjoyed both seconds of it. I'd definitely come back. read more

Went to an event at South Austin Brewery and luckily had the opportunity to try the food at this truck. The pulled pork pressed sandwich was lovely! It had the slightest hint of cinnamon that the honey grilled onions really complemented. I'd give it 5 stars but $12 for a sandwich seems a bit steep. read more

Pros: * Excellent breakfast tacos * My companion loved his pressed sandwich * Very good service * Drop coffee was above average Cons: * Potato salad was really, really heavy on the olives, which really overwhelmed the taste. It should have been called an olive salad. * Paprika tossed potatoes were very dense on the salt. The sauce was good but a little overwhelming and again very salty. Being a fan of food trucks and Spanish style cuisine, I can tell you that BOCA wins at every level. There's not many other places that serve tapas in Austin, much less bocadillos. Portions are great and competitively priced. $9 gets you a fancy sandwich and spanish style fries. I feel that any other place you get the same amount of food for around the same price, and if you go to a tapas restaurant you get much less for that! I definitely recommend and l will definitely come back more often. Amazing! read more

This place is a gem! I can really only speak to the breakfast tacos, but they are so good that in my opinion they don't even need anything else (although I'm sure it's all great). I've had my fair share of breakfast tacos in town and I can say with confidence that these are in the ranks with the best. The truck owner has been so nice each time we've gone, and they often serve free sangria on the weekends. My favorites are the potato and the chorizo breakfast tacos (might be the best chorizo taco in ATX), but I've tried a few others and am always blown away. read more

Just discovered Boca by accident, was trying to hit Beirut (the Lebanese truck next door), but it was closed. Ended up getting Boca's "El Pollito" sandwich, and I'm about half way thru it as write this. The sandwich was carefully prepared by the owner, who was super friendly, and because there was no crowd, we got to chatting while I waited and ate. I correctly identified the artist they used in their logo, which he said was a first. Try to figure it out while you're there! Bonus points! The chicken was spiced strongly, maybe a bit heavy for me personally, but super delicious. The maple bacon really makes this sandwich stand out. Tough to go wrong putting bacon in something, so many restaurants will overuse the concept, but this usage of bacon was unique, which I can appreciate. The mozzarella was tasty as well, really brought some harmony to a sandwich that bordered on being overabundant in flavors. He had free sangria today for customers as well, so my drinks were free, and they were light and delicious, not too strong. Free booze with a great sandwich? Thanks, I'll take it! I work across the street from these guys, btw their location has changed to a trailer behind container bar on Rainey. The guys come in and are always nice, they make their food made to order so it's not stale or soggy. A bit pricey but worth it. read more

Patatas bravas from the Boca Food truck are lovely, period. Full of flavor and for my palate, the hot sauce compliments the potato and eggs nicely without overwhelming the rest. Patrick, Clayton, and other crew members have got it going on. The breakfast taco options are a welcome addition. Excellent food! The bocadillos were awesome. The shrimp was cooked and seasoned perfectly. So many people over cook shrimp. We were thrilled to have complimentary sangrias when we went on Friday. The ambiance was fantastic in the good truck park. Lots of good options all around. The music made the time fly, we stayed there for about two hours. The people who run Boca clearly have a passion for cuisine, a history in upscale food service, and a healthy/happy/ultra approachable menu. A wonderful find for the 'hood- Owned and run by nice young couple- she is FROM Spain and he travelled and lived all over the country- so the Spanish flair in the food is authentic! Very little value. Left very hungry. I thought long and hard before ranking as low as it goes but I would not recommend. Sandwich and toast with a little puree smeared on was barely an appetizer together. Taste was ok but waited forever in a little out-of-the-way place that was a little dull. Dry and hard baguette(probably from sams) freezer burned tasting jamon and some over-cooked veggies. Aoli was good but anyone can do that. My husband and I ate here with our 4yr son and it was outstanding! We found this fun little food truck park after swimming all day at Barton Springs- so we were HUNGRY. The chef was friendly and greeted us right when we came into the park. as we were checking out the menu, his wife (the other owner/chef) walked up with her arms full of bags with fresh bread and herbs in them. She recommended the Spaniah Tortilla and Crostinis to start with. We ordered them and they went right to work preparing them while we drank some of the Sangria (which was made that afternoon and so refreshing!). The Spanish Tortilla was SO good. my husband and son gobbled up all of the Crostinis so I didn't actually get to try them but they looked very tasty. We then ordered two of the Bocadillio sandwiches to share, the #1 and #2. They did take a few minutes to make but they have some "community" games to play and jamming music playing on the park speakers, besides I don't mind waiting a few minutes for a freshly prepared meal so we introduced our son to Jenga and worked on our Sangria. When they were ready, the wife ( other chef) brought them to our table and chatted with us for a bit. She expanded to us (in her lovely Spanish accent) that she is from Granada, Spain and these are the foods that she grew up on there. The sandwiches were OH SO FLAVORFUL. Toasted baguette bread with fresh veggies and generous portions of the meat. Alongside the sandwiches were some handcut fries with this fabulous aioli sauce for dipping. When we were almost done with our meal, the chef (husband) came to check on us and brought a sample of the Chorizo Boca- OMG- if I wasn't saving room for the Saffron cheesecake, I probably would have ordered it too. The Saffron cheesecake was last and was so rich tasting that I was definitely satisfied. All in all, I would say that this place is worth a visit if you want to try some authentic Spanish food made fresh. The owners are hospitable and attentive, the food truck park is small, clean, and has a good vibe. The food is some of the best of I have had all year ad I am definitely going back. Boca drove up to Pflugerville to support a 5K for veterans charities. It was early, so they had the breakfast menu in full swing. The food was amazing. I ordered the #1, which was a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with a side of potatoes. Everything was clearly prepared from scratch, the flavor was fresh and amazing. The potatoes had 2 sauces....one a habanero tomato sauce and the other a creamy sauce. They were 2 of the best sauces I have EVER tasted. Everyone at the park was raving about the food.
