The second time, I nearly choked several times because the hygienist did not offer suction. I had to raise my hand to get her attention FIVE times. On both occasions, the two different hygienists were looking over my files and said, "So, you have cancer, diabetes, and kidney disease." No. I don't have those. BOTH times. They have my file mixed up with someone else. I'm not going back.

My first appointment was with Dr. Farwaha and I love her. She is so gentle, compassionate and explains this very well. I had a small cavity that was able to be fixed with laser and what a great experience. I have started Invisilign with her and she explained everything in detail to me and made me feel comfortable with moving forward with straightening my teeth. Hands down the best dentist I have been to! I even like her better than my previous dentist. I was going to review it after my…read moreinitial visit, a routine cleaning, but decided to wait until I was having work done, which I started today, a crown replacement. My feelings haven't changed much, and if anything, they've even improved. First of all, the staff are great. Friendly, helpful, informative without lecturing me, and incredible teamwork. They TRULY work as a team and it's obvious they enjoy their work. On my original visit, I had Martine and Dr. Cosby and I was very impressed with both of them - technical AND interpersonal skills are great. Today I had the pleasure of also dealing with Casey (I hope I spelled his name correctly) and he was also just AWESOME. He made me feel comfortable, explained what would be happening along the way, excellent technique in his work (adjusting the temporary crown, air and suction, etc.), and also great interpersonal skills. I mean the same is true of Dr. Cosby and Martine but I wanted to point that out anyway. Dr. Cosby explains things really well and ensures you're comfortable (as does Martine). I mentioned the staff earlier but failed (inadvertently) to include the front desk and billing staff, and that's kind of a big deal. And both sides are also excellent. I love the online forms, I love the appointment reminder texts and emails (the rest of you, would you stop already with the complaints about appointment reminders, because I find them helpful and if you don't like them, just ignore them, don't get all negative) and I loved knowing, for billing, what I'd be expected to pay out of pocket. And I'm very pleased with my costs, too. I mean, nobody really ENJOYS going to the dentist, but Mountainside Dental Care is about as close as you can come to an ideal dental experience. I wasn't originally going to be a patient here because I wasn't unhappy with my previous dental practice, but my wife came here first and she liked her experience and now I know why. Didn't realize what I was missing and I plan to remain a customer / patient of Mountanside.

And it was for an extraction procedure. Well, I'm writing this about 2 weeks after that procedure. I was happy walking out of the office the day of the procedure, and I'm even happier now with a completely smooth recovery. First of all, the office staff are absolutely OUTSTANDING. I don't know how you could possibly get better customer service. And the waiting area is a very pleasant environment, there's bottled water, and it's very comfortable. Every aspect of interacting with the support staff was excellent - scheduling, reminders, billing, you name it. All done pleasantly and efficiently. Then there was the extraction itself. Not that I'm running any dental procedure races here, but my goodness, I'm pretty sure my procedure - an extraction with a bone graft - was done in under half an hour! Amazing! Dr. Ham explained what he was planning to do, executed on it, I had NO pain whatsoever during the procedure, and get THIS - while yes, they highly encouraged me to take a pain killer the minute I got home, I really didn't feel the need to do so and I have not once taken ANY pain medication AFTER the procedure. Didn't need to, no pain! Sure I may have had some bleeding - expected - the day of the procedure, and had to put some gauze in the vacated spot where the tooth had been, but after that, no more bleeding the next day, and on the road to a smooth recovery. I don't know how I could be any happier with a dental practice. I mean, I bet nobody LIKES going to the dentist, but if you do have to go, this is an excellent place to get your dental work done. I plan to continue being a patient here.
