The first time I was there, I had not had a cleaning in 10 months (due to illness and a move). The hygienist looked over my teeth and said, "I don't see anything to clean, so you can go." The second time, I nearly choked several times because the hygienist did not offer suction. I had to raise my hand to get her attention FIVE times. On both occasions, the two different hygienists were looking over my files and said, "So, you have cancer, diabetes, and kidney disease." No. I don't have those. BOTH times. They have my file mixed up with someone else. I'm not going back.

My first appointment was with Dr. Farwaha and I love her. She is so gentle, compassionate and explains this very well. I had a small cavity that was able to be fixed with laser and what a great experience. I have started Invisilign with her and she explained everything in detail to me and made me feel comfortable with moving forward with straightening my teeth. Hands down the best dentist I have been to! I even like her better than my previous dentist. Staff is kind and great and I always feel comfortable coming in for my cleanings etc. Highly recommend Oro Valley Dental Arts.

I needed a second opinion on a cracked tooth, I was scheduled within a week and when I walked into the office they not only saw me but fixed the cracked tooth the same day! I was expecting to have to come back for the procedure as this is a VERY busy office. The staff was extremely kind!! The cost of the estimate was well within what I had thought especially being out of network. Would highly recommend. Dr. Chavez also takes new patients and when she schedules for a new patient, she does a comprehensive exam with consultation! I have never heard of that before but that only adds to the positive experience of this dental office. Thank you so much!

The pain started a couple of days later. The staff was helpful and available for me more than I could have imagined. And, they stuck with me until I was healed. This review regards incompetent and uncaring treatment by Dr. Prokes at Casas Adobe Oral &…read moreMaxillofacial Surgery on Swan Rd., not La Cholla, but they seem to be the same organization. I had appointment for tooth extraction without sedation on 6/12/26. I had undergone 2 root canal (RC) treatments on the tooth with pain remaining after 2 months. My endodontist said I would need to have a 3rd RC (no guarantee of success) or get the tooth extracted (guaranteed success). I chose to have the tooth extracted and thus the appointment at Casas. I had a referral and also verbally explained to Dr. Prokes what I described above. She seemed confused and left the room to call my endodontist. She came back and said I didn't need any more RC treatments nor a tooth extraction. I was confused but of course happy to hear that, and subsequently left. Turns out Dr. Prokes did not speak to my endodontist, but to customer service who was uninformed. A week or so later, after my last antibiotic cycle had ended, the pain came raging back, and I found out that the tooth next to the originally infected tooth was now also infected. So I have to make the decision to extract them or more RC treatments on both teeth. Part of that decision is the cost of each option. I decided if I extracted the teeth, I wanted to have sedation. Casas said I had to come in again to discuss sedation with Dr. Prokes to get the cost, which I can't get. (My insurance requires provider to submit pre-estimate request to get quote, which takes minutes at most). I made an appointment for July 8, and was told I needed to get referral for the 2nd tooth before then. My dentist told me by email that he had submitted it to Casas on July 1, but Casas on July 3 still hadn't received it. Both my dentist and endodontist are out of the office this week due to the holiday, so I can't get another referral until Monday (my appointment is Wed.). To help with Dr. Prokes' confusion, I wrote a detailed history on all treatment, etc. associated with the 1st tooth and the diagnosis of the 2nd tooth. I explained I wasn't sure yet whether to extract 1, 2 or none of the teeth, but needed the cost info to decide. I got a call from Casas the next day on 7/3 saying Dr. Prokes said to cancel my appointment because I didn't have both referrals. Again I could get the 2nd one on Monday. Also, she wanted to talk to my dentist to make sure I needed the tooth/teeth extractions. This suggests I'm some kind of kook who wants teeth pulled out that don't need to be extracted. Note I have all of my teeth and am 61 years old. From Casas' website, it looks like there are at least 5 other oral surgeons at Casas. None of the others have had timely appointments open in 1 or 2 weeks....only Dr. Prokes has availability. Now I know why.....apparently nobody recommends her to others. I suggest you don't see Dr. Prokes, who doesn't seem to comprehend the English language nor care about her patients. I thinks it's likely that if Prokes had extracted the initial tooth when I went there for that purpose, the infection might not have spread into the 2nd tooth, costing me significant extra costs and substantial pain. How cruel that because of Prokes, I have to start over with RFQ with another facility, as I certainly won't ever go back to Casas. How hard would it have been to just give me a quotation for sedation, especially since I had already been to the facility? Certainly no harm would come of this. No treatment or tooth extraction was going to be performed on 7/8.....just discussion of sedation (and I've had sedation several times in my life) and finally telling me how much it would cost. I understand needing the referral, which I could have had re-sent on 7/6, and certainly well before any tooth extractions would be performed. It's just hard to fathom these stupid rules, and the incompetence and lack of empathy of Dr. Prokes.

Great experience as a new patient !…read more I was seen at the Oracle office for an emergency procedure that was referred by my primary care DDS. Dr. Keippel and his staff were very accommodating and reassuring, and the procedure was explained to me in advance and every step along the way. The facility even stayed open after hours to make sure that I was taken care of and comfortable. Sure, it wasn't under the best circumstances that my first visit to Southern Arizona Endodontics occurred, but I am in NO pain today and am 100% confident if I ever need this specialized treatment again I know where to go. Thank You Dr. Keippel and staff !!!

I have looked at the reviews, and I always pause when a person leaves a negative review and there is no picture or just a few reviews...one every year or so. I am not saying it is not valid.....it just makes me pause. Same for excellent reviews with no picture and one or two reviews. Hmmmmm........ I digress.... So....this is MY review based on a LONG history having gone here. The staff has ALWAYS been pleasant and helpful. I work with people all day, I get it....so I always try to be nice. I was in a LOT of pain when I got there, and waited quite a while (but I was seen same day for an emergency). The doctor took me back and did several tests to see what tooth it was. Once it was confirmed, he said we will do the root canal now. ((YAY))!! The needles in the roof of my mouth ALWAYS hurt me so much, but the doctor was so patient. I got all numbed up.....and it began. Apparently I had dead and decaying nerves, and that explained the pain, fever, and other unpleasant symptoms I was having. Seriously....I was in a LOT of pain. I am so blessed to have no more pain, no more temperature...and may I give a special thank you to Dr Smith....who loves and supports animal rescue...and has such an authentic presence. Thank you. :-)
