I picked up my glasses from Goshen today not happy with the lady they had helping . I have gotten my glasses here for awhile have trouble with new ones have to have adjustments . I told the lady that it was a little blurry and thought my progressive need to go up a little all she said was the dr would like me to try them for a week. Brooke will do adjustments with ear pieces and nose pieces so why cant this lady now i will have to make another trip back to goshen to see Brooke and gas aint cheap thanks alot why cant people just listen to you . read more

Went in for a problem on one of my eyes. They had me come back 2 times to check on my progress....180.00 later,no change. I feel that at least one of the appointments should have been considered a follow up at no charge. Won't be back. read more

I have been going to Michiana Eye care since, well, since it was on Michigan St/So Bend with Dr Meyers. Almost 40 years. It was a great place then, and now, even better. So many people to knock ideas around with. We used to have to drive to Chicago for PRK surgery. That was before Lasik. I know a lot of the staff, and they have always been upfront and bringing other Drs. on board for their thoughts. My eyes are tricky and have always been giving everyone fits. This time is no different and I may have to have corneal implants. But whatever I need, I know there will be a group huddle about it. No worries at all. read more

After previously trying two locations over 20 or so years, I knew I needed new prescriptions and didn't like the rush and inattentive nature of the previous location, so I went to Michiana Eye Center this time, and I was not disappointed. Dr Danahey and his staff were thorough and amazing. The environment was clean, spacious and well separated for Covid restrictions. The staff was very friendly, especially the glasses aid, Christine, who took her time explaining the different styles, what would work best for my face and the lenses option available. I was back home visiting/working, I got yard debris in my eye. I washed it out with alkaline water and put sterile drops in it. It didnt get any better kept ITCHING. I called Michiana eye center they got me in right away (same day, within a hour and a half), removed more stuff from eye the whole time it was itching so bad, but they staff was so calming and understanding we worked together to get it all out they did the eye exam, found my scratched cornea and prescribed treatment. Patients BEWARE - Michiana Eye Center gave me a prescription that was incorrect after my eye exam. I took the prescription elsewhere due to the fact MEC is very expensive. I cannot read out of my new eyeglasses and MEC will do nothing about it. Eye exam is $180 and they don't stand behind it. So now i have 2 pairs of glasses i spent $300 on and can't read out of that just sit in my drawer. I had another eye exam at MEC and clearly the wrong prescription was given to me and they don't stand behind their work. BUYERS BEWARE they expect Eyecare Express to remake the lenses lenses free of charge and this is totally wrong. I will never go there again. I wrote BBB and MEC response was for the Eyecare Express should replace the lenses free of charge - I will never use their services again and I am going to make sure as many know about how they don't stand behind their services. read more

This is the 2nd visit in which I had the privilege of overhearing and spouse reporting doctor Armstrong speaking his personal views referring to "pv$$7 liberals" etc this with child waiting for eye exam. Probably the least professional office I have the pleasure to acquaint myself with. read more

After a terrible experience at the Optical Shop 9 months ago, I decided to give it another try. Drew, an employee of the Optical Shop, reached out to me right away after my bad experince and did everything he could to make things right. He went above and beyond and actually restored my faith in this place. I figured, I had one bad experience with one bad employee and since we are a family of 7, and all of us wear glasses, maybe we should try again. BAD IDEA! Yesterday I went in with the intention of getting glasses. Monisha shot me dirty looks across the room and then her and the lady who broke my glasses 9 months ago begin bashing me from across the aisle from one another while I am standing right there! I was appalled at the lack of professionalism these two displayed and how disgusting their behavior was. I certainly hope these two do not reflect the entire practice or treat people this way who have had a bad experience and want to they again. I will be filing a formal complaint for how I was treated. There are multiple optical shops in town. We found designer frames and exceptional customer service elsewhere. Please do not feel like this is your only option. If you do want to shop there, definitely ask for Drew. He wilk take exceptional care of you and represents this company to the highest standard. read more

Arrogant and downright mean accounting. Sent invoice with incorrect address, noting that my insurance did not fully pay the bill. Rather than phone or email, sent account less than $100 to collections. When I called, they were even nastier. If there were no stars, that's the rating I would give. Shame on you. read more

Will never come here again. I been going to this eye center since I was little, had no idea how expensive it was at the time. I'm an adult now and the prices here are ridiculous. Not to mention whatever rep I spoke to clearly has no idea what she's talking about. I asked for an emergency pair of contacts as one of mine ripped and the glasses I have are so old (literally 8+ years ago old). I need to be able to see in order to drive and work as I'm sure all of you feel the same. She said my prescription was a few months past being "good" and that she could not give me my emergency pair. This is F A L S E. In the past, I have absolutely been able to get an emergency pair of contacts despite the prescription being expired. What are people supposed to do when their prescription is old, their contacts ripped, they don't have enough money to get their eyes examined, etc. How are people supposed to drive? Work? Do anything in their daily routine that they need to do? read more

I watched an associate treat a customer with disrespect. The customer was looking at frames. The associate said, "What are you doing here? Your insurance doesn't cover frames." It shouldn't matter what insurance, they should help the customer with what they want. I won't be back to Michiana Eye Center in Mishawaka. read more

I've been here twice and my experience has been great. The office is beautiful and everyone is so friendly.

My appointment went fine. A hs student was shadowing the dr and was allowed to input my information into the computer. When my glasses came in the tech accidentally broke the lens. I needed them that week as I was going out of town. I decided instead of waiting for them to re do them (a week) I would take my prescription to a place that can make them same day. Flash forward about a month and I was still having blurred vision and headaches that you normally get when adjusting to a new prescription. I called and was advised by the person that answered the phone to take them back where I had them made. I did and they ended up doing a new exam as they couldn't see a problem with the glasses compared to the prescription I brought in. I learned from the dr that the prescription I was given at Michiana Eye was for a person who is farsighted (+) I am nearsighted (-). I went in to Michiana Eye and explained and asked if the charge to my insurance for the eye exam could be removed as I had to pay for a new exam plus a new copay for the other place. I received a call the next day and the answer was no because apparently they would have rechecked my eyes for free there and I shouldn't have gone and had a new exam done elsewhere. Well I tried to go back and was told to take them where I had them made. The lady in billing also told me that my new numbers in the prescription were close to what they got during my appointment with them. That is true but the + and - make all the difference not just the actual numbers. Communication throughout the office would have prevented this. I'm out of pocket $70 PLUS the hassle and (literal) headache of having the wrong prescription for over a month! Never again. I'm new to the area and tried a new place. Next time I will gladly drive 45 mins to my old doctor. read more

Horrible experience...the doctors here have no bedside manner! They were extremely rude to my 11 year old daughter who was scared of having a foreign object removed, that was in her eye. He said that they didn't have time for petty cases and to visiting the ER would have been a better choice! I can honestly say that there are much better ophthalmology practices in the Michiana Area. read more

Referred due to emergency, Was treated for 5 months and still not well, Never saw same Dr. Everyone gave different diagnosis. Extreme pain, told to take motrin (ended up in ER on morphine). Eye was lasered and not numb(HURT LIKE HELL). Was forgotten in room. One Dr sent for expensive test to prove he was right and when test said he was wrong he got mad and referred me to outside Dr..
