I contacted MS&L to program a keyfob for my vehicle (my key was lost) They drove over an hour to my house, for a prescheduled appointment, worked on the program for about 30-45 minutes (said it would only take 10-15min) then told me it would not program and didn't charge me for the time or 2 hours of travel time long story short, veh towed to dealer, they informed me damage to steering column could have only been caused by locksmith & must be repaired to program new keyfob. MS&L denied causing damages & refuse to pay for repairs or provide their insurance info. The cost of tow, repairs & car rental is over $5000, I'm a widowed, senior on a fixed income and need my money back. Even my auto insurance company can't get the company to take responsiblity for their blunder. Totally irresponsible! read more

I needed to get copies of the car key for our grand daughter's Toyota Camry. The car is an older car, but new enough that Lowes, Menards, and Home Depot did not have the blank to make these keys so they directed me to a lock Smith. The place has a handicapped parking spot and a ramp for handicapped people which made going in easy! The gentlemen greeted me immediately and were very professional. They were able to make copies of the Camry key quickly and accurately for $5.00 a key which I felt was reasonable. I asked about a key for my Sienna--that key would have been $100 because mine has a computer chip in it and has to be programmed! I passed on that key. I don't feel they were overly priced because we had a copy of our Buick's key made, and it was $90 for they key and then we had to pay the Buick dealer to program it. I locked myself out of my car twice in the last six months and stopped in here today for a spare to keep in my wallet. Took three attempts with two different keys but they provided a working replacement. Cost -- five bucks!! Wow, very very pleased! read more

Great company! They solved a big problem with my safe for me today. I hadn't been able to open it for several months and needed to access the contents. They saved the day! The key wouldn't turn in our car this week, ago I took to Yelp for recommendations (as you do). These guys were able to get out within a couple hours and fix it quickly (the charge for the service itself was less than the service charge to come out and look at it in the first place). Total $99. Do not go here. Horrible ownership and customer service. I had them come to my business to rekey some of our locks. The locksmith said I had to replace my my locks and order us 4 Mortice lever locks ($1600.00). I took their recommendation and they order me the locks. I had to pay upfront. When they came in they were the wrong ones. I figured no problem they would send those back and get the right ones. Nope they said those are special order and can't get sent back. I asked for my $ to be returned. Nope again said their policy is no refunds. This company was not willing to work with us to make it right. I called J&J locksmith. They said we did not need new locks and they rekeyed our locks for way less. Michigan Lock are scam artists. read more

These guys are the best. Let me tell you they were professional, honest and kind. I had them do work for me and they came to my house in a rough neighborhood. They did two keys for me and did my computer after I washed my only key. Then when my car didn't start I thought it was the programming. Even when i questioned them they were not mean they were kind and understanding when I was quite upset. My wire in the starter broke off after I parked my truck and it was nothing they did. I was just glad they were able to come and be such great people and be so understanding. I am sorry it to this long to say thank you. Folks just keep up the good work! read more

Was looking for a lock box replacement key. I figured I could just use the machine at Walmart or just go into Home Depot and have one made. Both places I visited hoping to be able to make a simple duplicate key with no luck (they generally can only do house keys and similar styles). I was told about Michigan Security and Lock by a very helpful person at Home Depot. I stopped in and met with a guy named Paul who was very helpful. Although they did not have the key I needed exactly, his experience and know how led him to a old Honda Motorcycle key which held the similar shape to the lock box key. He did have to shave it down and customize it to work. But got the job done and only took about 5 minutes from me walking in and getting a duplicate key (custom made at that!). They have a nice showroom and a number of products there for anyone's needs in the lock/security genre. Very happy customer! read more

I received the best service today from Paul at Michigan Security and Lock today! The key to my office was stuck in my door...I tried everything and couldn't get it out! I called and was told it could be about an hour (not unreasonable on Sunday) but when the regular service guy was tied up, Paul just came over himself within about 30 min.
