Wow!!! Love this place... it's so close to home and we have driven by many times, glad we stopped in tonight! We enjoyed lasagna, calzone, spaghetti, and meatballs, and pretty much clean the plates! The portions are perfect and reasonably priced... I went in with my family this evening to this location. It was a late day for us and I sent my kids to wash their hands while I looked at the menu. As I looked at the menu there was a female employee and a male employee in the kitchen. The female employee proceeded to tell the male employee I was standing at the counter. The male then looked over and said "I'm not going to rush to serve them because it's their fault they came in an hour before we close" to which she responded with "Yeah I know me either". It was incredibly off putting and inappropriate. When I asked the female if what I was doing was making them feel rushed she told me no and I indicated to her that it was extremely off putting hearing him say that in front of customers and that it's rude. She told me "Oh it's fine we're just messing around back here". No it's not "fine". It's an excuse for extremely poor customer service and employee behavior. No customer no matter what time they are there or what they come in for deserves to be chided in that manner. This location has gone downhill and should be teaching their employees to do better and be better. read more

I'm not sure why this place has 4 stars. We just had dinner there and it was pretty awful. I ordered the pasta with meat sauce and what came out was undercooked penne in a soupy sauce with almost no meat. It looked so unappetizing I almost didn't eat it but I tried it. It was as bad as it looked. I ate a little and left the rest. My son got the kids meal and wouldn't touch it. It was just bow tie pasta with marinara and again it was a really soupy sauce that looked super gross. And the prices did not justify what we got. I think we paid $24 to have a terrible meal that no one wanted to eat. I gave it two stars because the workers were helpful and pleasant but I won't be back. I would stay away. There are far better places to spend $24 on pasta. read more

I had heard about this place, we were having an appointment next door, so we stopped by for lunch. In the past and from the reviews and the menu, I had expected a slightly more upscale seating area. But no fear, it may be fast casual but the food is very good as is the service. It seems they do a lot of takeout so there are some orders ahead of you that might not be apparent, but the line was short and it moved quickly. The staff so friendly, delivers to the table, will bring your desserts, prepaid with initial order, to the table when you step to the counter to tell them you are ready. They do clean the tables themselves and bring you boxes for leftovers to take home. Because the portions are so ample for the prices, you probably will have leftovers. We did. We each had a salad, my husband had the Mista, I had the Casa. We both enjoyed them and the dressing was very high quality. He had the gelato and I had the cannoli for dessert. We both were pleased with our choices. I have had many cannoli in my life, in the east, both in Boston and NY area, as well as in CA in the Bay area, and this was comparable quality to many bigger names but at lower price. I would love to try the pastas, but that will need to be for dinner. In warm weather it appears they can accommodate a much larger crowd with the outdoor seating, with some very large tables for large parties. We will need to try that sometime too when we have guests. It is a bit of a drive from Boulder but traffic is often light going in that direction from Boulder and probably no longer time than crossing Boulder itself, heading north from our house. read more

Our previous dinner plans fell through, so we found this place and were pleasantly surprised! I've never been to an Italian restaurant where you order at the counter but it was nice and relaxed. We ordered a caprese salad, a pizza, and two pasta dishes. All of which were yummy! And we also got gelato which was delicious! The service was a little lacking- it seemed like there were a few new people getting trained but everything was still good. I would definitely come back to try other menu items. read more

I found this place because the card reader at the frozen yogurt shop Nextdoor was down. There was a sign that said "gelato" and I gave it a shot. I'm so happy I did! The gelato is soooo delicious, especially the chocolate chip flavor. Then one day I was actually hungry so I tried the pesto pasta...my life was changed and now this spot is on my top restaurants. It's really really difficult to find good, tasty food in Colorado that isn't overly priced. But Mici is yummy, filling, and affordable. Love this place! read more

Covid-19 curbside pickup I can't believe I'd never been to Mici Italian, but luckily they offer convenient curbside pickup during these difficult times. My friends had told me how they liked this place and, after ordering for dinner recently, I totally agree. That day was rainy and chilly, so the hearty white bean soup with spinach, chicken broth, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and garlic bread was perfect! Make sure you order their cookies, so yummy! I may have to go back just to get a bunch more. The selection on the takeout menu is quite wide and the prices reasonable, wine and beer are also available. The staff is friendly and if you call them they'll bring the order directly to your car (or you can choose to go inside). If you don't feel like cooking or just want to support a local business, seems like a good one to me! read more

Tried Mici for the first time tonight. It wasn't spectacular, but it was good. You order yourself at the front and then they bring the food to your table. I saw they also offer full menu delivery as well. The food was really good (just not incredible). I'm not sure if we just went right during the dinner rush or not, but there was a small line and it seemed to take awhile to be helped. I really want to go back and try the gelato...it looked delicious and they had some unique flavors!! Definitely worth the visit. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Food was good. Nothing negative other than a little bit of a wait to order (which should be expected around dinner time on a Friday). Will for sure be visiting again! read more

Beware of ordering through yelp. $14 service fee added to our order AFTER I approved payment. Expensive mistake for pizza. Is the pizza good? Yes. Consistently? Yes. Thin, crispy and chewy crust. The base red sauce is a classic. The pizzas all have a thin film of grease, however, teens tells me that's the best part. Delivery by yelp however had that obnoxious fee tacked on in addition to tax, another fee, and tip which was generous not knowing there was this hidden additional fee I assume does not benefit the driver nor kitchen staff. read more

Love having this place in downtown Lafayette. It is very new and clean inside, and bright. Their menu features classic Italian fare, with tasty Gelato too! I have been a couple times and always go for the Raviolis. You can choose your sauce, I really liked the pesto! I splurged for a personal pizza too, which was cheesy and delicious. "When the moon hits your eye . . ." Well hey there. Do you come here often?" I think it's time I update my review and give Mici's the love they deserve. I think my last update was a bit unfair and coming from an emotional spot. Food: Super tasty! Really one of my favorite Italian food places. I grew up in NJ and had an Italian-American mother who made a lot of Italian meals. Mici's sauce's flavor blend the best world of acidic tomatoes and mellow flavors of oil. Really great taste and the way sauce should taste. The pizzas are fantastic too and are the main dishes. Some highlights for me are the lasagna, the Pietro, and the gelato really hits the spot on a hot day. Let's be honest, it'll hit the spot no matter what the weather is. Service: Really some of the nicest people in town. Some of the peeps I've seen more frequently remember what I order too. That's impressive considering the volume they do. All around get staff and service. Ambiance: Love just hanging out, like I am now, with some Dean Martin crooning old Italian classics. Super bright atmosphere and a real comfortable feel. A great little patio vibe too. Who's Mici's For?: Glad you ask. Really anyone. From the hungry wanderer, to the hot date night down to the family hang time. Don't forget that they deliver and offer great curbside pick up too. Overall, Mici's is a great little spot for a nice Italian dinner. Went for early dinner on a Saturday evening. You order at the counter, get a number and food is brought to your table. Wine and beer available. Limited seating. Staff clear tables. Good food, on the pricey side. Good pizza. We got a 10" cheese and 16" Carparola which I loved and my daughter and husband likes. Crust is between thin and thick, good amount of toppings, too much cheese for my hubby, I loved it. Drinks. Fountain drinks available. We got a bottle of wine ($16 off the cost of the bottle if you buy a 16" pizza). Service. Super friendly, one person was focused on dining room and two taking orders at the counter. Ambience. Lacking. Small space feeling very sterile and basic. The overhead lighting was harsh. Would love to see some improvements on this. Good experience overall. I hope they make it. read more

Best fast/casual Italian food! The food is SO flavorful! Everything from the bread, to crust, to pizza, to lasagna, to Ice tea has flavor! Not overpowering but not underwhelming, an absolute perfect balance! I can not rave enough about the lasagna. Cooked to perfection. The service was given with kindness, and a smile! We used to like the restaurant quite a bit hence the 2 stars instead of 1 but unfortunately they've gone downhill since covid-19. The workers seem quite frazzled. We got a free salad with their loyalty program that had mold on it bleh. My lasagna was burned beyond recognition. Walking in, the restaurant was very clean and tidy. The staff was friendly, and for was delicious. I got a calzone, and the marinara that comes with it is very good! It's a bit pricey for fast casual, Mici's for that reason won't become a regular stop for me. I will definitely be back though. read more

This place was better than 3 stars in my book, but not quite a 4. The food here was pretty good. We ordered the cortonese, lasagna, penne kids size, and giardino pizza. The cortonese (pasta with meat sauce), penne, and giardino were delicious. Everything was well cooked (no overcooked pasta), but the garlic bread that came with the items were nicely toasted and flavored.The lasagna was a little overcooked i think ... it kind of got soggy and broke down a little, but you could tell the flavor was good. It was a little heavy as well. One thing to note is the service was excellent!! the employees were super friendly and attentive. For the kids, they give them a piece of pizza dough to make a creation, and they bake it and give final product to them. that a very nice touch. Stopped in for late lunch on the weekend with my husband. We were drawn in from the signage for paninis. But when we saw the menu inside there aren't any paninis. We both ordered calzones instead. We had to wait a solid 15 minutes- which I would expect I suppose if it was hand crafted Italian calzone. When it arrived, the crust had a strange consistency: looked baked, but maybe fried too? There was no light, airy crust. Very dense and didn't taste like any crust I've ever had ( in kind of a pre-fabricated, bad way). Overall, I'd say the food was just OK. Price was a bit high for the quality and quantity of what you get. The place itself was nice inside and the staff was very nice too. Well I was pleasantly surprised with the sauce's. my granddaughter wanted spaghetti, she loves my homemade red sauce and is picky. She loved the spaghetti, but her favorite was the meat sauce with your special recipe was as good as mine. The bread was warm and yummy. UPDATE 5/20: manager or owner responded to my post below and offered some meal vouchers and apology for the poor food/service. So they do listen anyway. Very disappointing take out meal 5/13/20. Ordered online, promised in 20 min, received in 50. Once home (10min drive) it was cold and burned to a charcoal color top and bottom. Ate a bit but tasted like cardboard; tossed the rest. Salad ingredients were skimpy too. Longtime customer of other locations, but this isn't my first bad experience at Lafayette mici. Reached out to owner and *crickets*. REALLY good cheese pizza! This is our go to when we want a really tasty cheese pie. They also have gelato.

Not that great and not inexpensive for basically take out food and fountain drinks. Will not likely return, lots of other similar options.

Updated review: the pizza is really quite good, after all. The zucchini ("pina") pizza is a cheesy delight. Sausage is yummy, too. The 16" is a hearty size, 10" is large enough for 2 meals for me. Caveat: ordering from delivery has never been 100% success. May not be Mici's fault b/c they use delivery service (Uber Direct, different from Uber Eats) but I wish they delivered directly. read more

This week I pick up the small human from school who, according to his aide, had a rough day. He is clamoring for pizza and in only the way a kid on the Spectrum can do. Finding a decent GF pizza in the 30 minutes between school and therapy is no small feat. I call Mici's and the young girl who answered was such a sweetheart. I order. She can hear the wailing in the backseat of the car. She tells me it'll be ready at 3:45; that's when therapy starts...I tell her my situation and she says, "I'll have it ready in 15min". We cruise into the restaurant, the pizza is hot and ready and of course he sees the gelato case. In Italian I tell him he doesn't have a prayer and to take the pizza and get in the car. I didn't notice the older gentleman sitting at a table not far from the counter until he laughed out loud when I told my son not to argue and get in the car! Let's get to the food reason for this review, shall we! The crust of the GF pizza is UNBELIEVABLE! You see, there is a magical bakery in Longmont that does amazing things without gluten but they only sell to restaurants. This is that dough - Sweet Escapes. There is only one other pizza joint that we have found that carries this dough and that's on Pearl St. We have traveled far and wide in search of a good GF crust. I will be traveling no more as this is the stuff that reminds you what bread SHOULD taste like. A hint of salt, doughy but not chewy, yeasty but just enough and it holds the sauce and cheese without getting soggy or hard! And I know because half the pizza sat in the car during his therapy session and when we got back to the car I had to literally wrestle a piece out of his grip so that I could get 1 bite. One of the pizzas was partially burnt but they gave it to us anyways as well as a second replacement. I'm glad they didn't waste the burnt one and gave it to us. Been to the downtown location and Lafayette's multiple times. It was probably a mistake, but for a 'family owned' establishment, there's nothing homely about it. The pasta tastes like it out of a box, while the sauces are plain Jane and the pizza topping are straight out of a can or package. The chicken on the pizza has been nothing but bad, while the crust has the look and taste of frozen pizza....microwaved. I'm over trying over and over again and expecting better quality and think I've learned my lesson. Sorry, noodles and co is larger and taste more real(although I'd only give 1 more star for their flavors), and I prefer them over this place. Not sure how you have so many locations. read more

Tried for the first time today and I was pleased. I had spaghetti and a meatball with a couple of pieces of garlic bread. This isn't fine dining, but it was really good. The garlic bread was fantastic, the meatball had good flavor and texture, the sauce was rich and well spiced, and the pasta was nicely cooked, especially for takeout. Fantastic service and AMAZING FOOD! I go here all the time for the gelato. They switch out the flavors every once In A while. My favorite is the Nutella one. So good! It might be a chain but this is a cute one! I sit here to read and eat all the time. The staff are so friendly and so polite and make it good comfortable environment. read more
