Mici is a place that makes quality, tasty food but suffers from a bad atmosphere and set-up for dine-in. Since it's not set-up well for anything other than a carry-out or delivery place, my rating is bumped down a bit. The food is authentic, well-prepared, and inspired. Things are clean, and there is zero issue with the quality + bang-for-buck. The sauces, especially tomato, are wonderful. They actually had anchovies for the caesar. The pizza is quite decent although the crust was a bit puffy in places. The toppings were good. We had salad, calzone, pasta, pizza, you name it. Everything was A-OK, and in some places... excellent. We wanted to try the gelato... next time - we were stuffed! Where things fell apart: the seating area is cramped, on a cold night, the windows surrounding the whole dining area cause a very cold draft throughout the entire place (no heater vents or curtains around the perimeter at all?!), and the lights are way too bright. It almost feels like they got the kitchen installed and then remembered they'd need a sidecar dining area. Since it's like this but is also a new build/remodel of an old Starbucks, that makes me believe they actually want it to be delivery + carry-out primarily? I'm not sure, but overall that's probably the main way we'll dine from Mici in the future. read more

Stopped in tonight for the second time. Yesterday I got some blackberry cookie gelato that was to die for! Tonight I actually ordered the tomato and mozzarella panini and a side of Alfredo sauce. Overall, the panini was delicious, but the ratio of bread to fillings was very high. It almost seems like it should be an appetizer of bread with toppings on it or something along those lines vs a panini. The customer service at this location was top notch! Also, the main reason for the four stars versus the five star rating is the fact that the Alfredo sauce tasted absolutely nothing like the Alfredo sauce I've had in my lifetime in any capacity, and I've eaten at a lot of supposedly authentic Italian places in my day! It was literally colored almost yellow and was reminisce of Irish beer cheddar soup. It tasted like they used sharp cheddar and beer vs garlic and Parmesan or Romano?! Frankly, if that's classic Italian Alfredo sauce and I am not a fan. I don't know, but I don't recommend the Alfredo sauce or the coffee gelato, but will definitely be back to try more options. So I placed an online order on Sunday (Oct 30, 2022) and used a coupon code that I had used previously... it still worked. Great! These are the coupons that they send out in the mail. They have a coupon code printed on them that you can input on there website when placing an order. Anyway, I pay for it online and drive to the restaurant to pick it up. When I get to the store the manager tells me that she will not honor the coupon because I already used it before, yet the website already accepted the discount code and processed my payment. So to summarize, after I drive there to pick up the food--that I had already paid for--the manager refuses to give me the pizza I ordered. She said I can either pay more money (full price) or she can refund me my purchase, but she will not give me the food since I used a coupon code. I asked that I would like the food that I already paid for and then she started getting extremely defensive and aggressive. Facts: The manager accused me of lying (seriously). She said that someone called me and informed me that I couldn't use that coupon. THIS. NEVER. HAPPENED. I asked when this person supposedly called me, which is when she started getting extremely defensive and aggressive. Sorry, but I don't take lightly people calling me a liar. She then said that I was abusing the restaurant in front of all the other customers sitting. This actually blew my mind how unprofessional someone can be. She said that I was abusing the restaurant because I keep using a coupon that the website accepts. As if I am responsible for their website not working properly. Well I was pleasantly surprised with the sauce's. my granddaughter wanted spaghetti, she loves my homemade red sauce and is picky. She loved the spaghetti, but her favorite was the meat sauce with your special recipe was as good as mine. The bread was warm and yummy. The serving sizes were enough we will have enough for lunch tomorrow. The cookies and gelato also did not disappoint. If your looking for authentic Italian this fits the bill. Great to-go containers, carefully packed so that you didn't have to worry about taking a sharp curve in the car. Such a great place!! So cute and the food was so very good! I had the Margarita pizza (one of the best crusts and sauce I've had in awhile) and the fresh Mozzarella was creamy & delicious. The atmosphere was great too. A large open patio area, & the inside dining area was simple and clean with the coolest photo of the family whose recipes have made the restaurant great. Also the perfect quirky Italian music playing to complete the experience. Kyle was our server/cashier and did a great job even with the influx of customers for lunch, he was patient and knowledgeable and even let us sample the gelato so we could choose the best flavor. Was treated very badly by the staff here during my last visit. Was served a skimpy portion of food for 10.99 that seemed really not big at all considering the price of the pasta dish. Who seriously only puts 1 single tiny meatball on a tiny portion of spaghetti for 10.99? And not only that, but instead of helping us, sends a manager to tell me to screw off at the ordering counter once already by saying they "don't give free food" and "nobody ever complains" then comes over to our table sometime after that and literally harassed and got into the face of the person I was sitting with, accusing her of sending me over to talk about the food in the first place, when I was the one who complained in the first place, and overall was very bad and attacking passive aggressive vibes from the staff. And even the waitress was talking smack about us from across the room to the other party at a different table. Had to get our food to go because we felt attacked and violated here. We will never ever return and I encourage others to not waste their money here. These people frankly are too many and uppity to deserve a business. Mici more like match made in heaven. This place is better than great, it is the epitome of what a good Italian restaurant should be. The Cesar is the best you'll get anywhere on this side of town. If I could live there I would because the smells that come off their pasta are like the gates to heaven. I wonder who the chefs are because I'd like to wipe the ground they stand on with my love for the Penne Rosa, you could ask for more penne if you're not the saucy type. I had a catering order May 7th and was left feeling extremely disappointed with MICI. They fell short on a few things that should be unacceptable for any catering order, especially not an $800 event with a MONTHS notice. We had nothing to serve the lasagna or salad dressings, the pizzas weren't double cut, we barely got any croutons, all the lids were tore up and barely holding on, there was no empty pans to hold the water that the sternos heat up (especially because the sternos and wire racks had to come out of my pocket), the chicken was cut SO THICK that the large catering pan we ordered really only had as many servings as a small, and there wasn't enough plates. Shelley was super unprofessional communicating that she waited until the last possible minute to get serving spoons. She decided to send a text instead of calling and stating the reason they wouldn't make it was because the didn't arrive on the truck that day, it was 4pm so it was too late to get any, and she didn't work tomorrow {the day of the catering}. When we were notified they wouldn't be included with the order I asked for a discount since it was ANOTHER thing that had to come out of my pocket and she told me she would just go to dollar tree instead. Andrea (the delivery driver) gave me attitude because I wanted to check that everything was delivered before she left but she failed to bring the receipt. For a place that brags about its family recipes and handcrafted food we expected a lot more. The pizza was the best, above average and delicious. The crust was dusted and very tasty. Our calzone was good, but not great. The lasagna however was just plain. Chain italian restaurants blow your lasagna away from the taste of the sauce to the texture. I would expect a place like yours to be well above a chain. The lasagna was so plain I would give it a 1 star on its own, frozen lasagna you bake at home has better taste and texture. We've gotten pizza delivery a couple of times, and it's been good. Tonight we had pasta dishes delivered. They arrived missing some key ingredients that we paid extra to add. The best part of it all? We called to let them know about the mistake, they apologized genuinely, and Shelly, the new manager, made and delivered fresh dishes to us, along with cookies and cards for a free item next time. Mici prides itself on the pizza and the pizza is indeed very good. Caesar salad was delicious but very light on the dressing. What really threw me was the lack of service. It was a zero. Even being counter service, I didn't expect no one to say a word to us outside of taking our plates and there were 3 of us. One thing that really threw me: they make what looks like beautiful bread and cover every bit of it in olive oil. Why? Put the olive oil on the side, not all over the bread. 3 of us shared a 10" pie and a lasagna. Service was great, because I dumped my water, I needed some help and the guy was on it right away. Lasagna was very good. Food and service are ok when you eat in. Just be careful to check the food, not just count the dishes if you order takeout or delivery. Takeout and delivery are inconsistent. I've ended up with missing meatballs, soupy pasta dishes, and marinara instead of pesto. Last night I was given pesto soup with some noodles in the middle, mixed pasta with a missing meatball, and my husband and I both got sick afterwards. That's on top of waiting an extra 15 minutes at the register because nothing was ready, even though we arrived at the time time their branded app said the food would be ready. The staff also clearly don't support each other. The woman who was trying to look up my order was having trouble finding it and this "girl" (acted like a child) stood behind this woman making faces at her in front of me, rather than helping her find the order. It was so smart to do that because once we tasted the pizza, we came to realize that Mici has the absolute best pizza on the front range period!!! We have also really enjoyed the Lasagne as and the meatballs too, which are as good or better than meatballs I've EVER HAD ANYWHERE! We live in Lafayette and are simply thrilled with how affordable Mici's is, as well as the extremely delicious food! We have been going to Mici's since it opened a couple of years ago. It was/is such a great addition to our Lafayette community. We think the food is fabulous! The lasagna is the best!! The salads are always fresh and tasty. Shelly and her team are friendly and courteous even when they are super busy. First off let me start by saying that the employees here today were awesome!! Very friendly! I had the tortellini and enjoyed it. However the lasagna was too dry. There was almost no sauce inside it. We had the spaghetti with meatball (sauce had minimal seasoning & meatball was blah), "bruchetta" (which is bread that is lightly buttered and has a bit of garlic flavor, served with a side of bland marinara sauce) and the meatball panini (good portion of meatballs - with little flavor - and just enough cheese to get the meatballs to stick to the bread.)
